Welcome to the group for anything to do with crocheting! This afghan is my pride and joy. I thoroughly enjoyed making it and it turned out beautifully!
Does anyone else have a "pride and joy" that they've crocheted?
about crocheters of nc
This group is for anyone who enjoys picking up a hook and a skein of yarn and creating something. Whether by following a pattern, or by creating their own patterns. It is also for people who want to ask questions about crocheting or about a pattern, or are searching for a pattern or would like to swap patterns or ideas. Anything at all about crocheting, whether you're new to it or like me, have been doing it for many years.

Right now, I've been trying to lay out granny squares to make a bag. Everytime I start setting them out to find a nice pattern along comes Dexter to sit on them. The final straw was last night--I moved Dexter 4 times. Finally locked him out on the patio and then Savannah slides right in and lays her big dog body right on it all.

Yeah, my Bonnie likes to "help" me. I have to keep an eagle eye on her if I step away from the afghan or she will chew my yarn into pieces.

There are a few ways to join squares. You can whip stitch them, or crochet them together. If you single crochet though the back loop it makes it smoother.
Check here. :)

It is knit (ugh!) but what an amazing shawl. I never thought about doing something and then painting the dye on like this.

If not, I am telling you that it is the best crochet/knit site out there. There are tons of patterns, forums, groups etc. I met really nice lady from there who helped me figure out the daisy pattern that I was stuck on.

Thank you Crocus. =) Hopefully I will have plenty of time after tomorrow to view the videos and maybe practice.
