Everyone saw the end of the tobacco cash cow coming, but no one wanted to believe it and invest in alternate industries. A friend of mine blames the "old money" interests who could have done something to help, but they didn't because they didn't want things to change. Maybe he's right.
I'd like to see some NEW industry and NEW skilled jobs come to town. We don't need anymore retail shops, convenient stores, and service jobs.
My brother says the Wilson County School System is in the toilet. He removed his children from public school and sent them out to Greenfield.
