Thank you Sandra, I appreciate your opinions and thank you for being a civil voice on GOLO. My taste in humor slides to the darker side sometimes and every now and then I have to break out of the "PC" cage and shake off the dust. Have a wonderful day!

Good morning Sandra

I finally got the name and e-mail address of my son's chaplain. I sent him an e-mail yesterday but haven't heard back from him yet. I think they have limited access to the internet. Any way you want to get the money to me is fine. I work at the headquarters of Carquest. You saw where I turned in off of Millbrook. If you want to come by here that's great or I could meet you some where. Then I need to get up with Cindy and coordinate the trip to Bragg. She knows someone that works at the commissary that can check on the availability of the jerky. Thanks for all your efforts.

SANDRA!!!! UM! Your reading was so right... like goosebumps right... YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!

Hey,hope you have had a good day.Mine has been busy, busy.Wishing you a nice evening.

Good morning! Hope you have a good day today...

You do realize that you are welcome to call me anytime right. 910-624-4666 is mt cell, it is always on. The only times I don't answer are when I am asleep or INSIDE the jail where i can't take it.

Sweet Sweet Kind and Gentle Sandra....

...Whether or not the family is able to care for little Bemis and Crystal, you efforts at contacting them are greatly appreciated. I know you are busy with all the great things happening these days...Halloween, your books, GOLO, and all that. Just that you contacted them is a huge favor.

I do expect to see changes occurring rapidly now that I have crossed over to the legitimately insane, I only wish to find a suitable and loving place for these two as Grinder and I embark on other paths.

Bemis is but a baby, and certainly to steal any heart, Crystal, a cool and collected female only wanting of affection and attention. I openly welcomed them to my home when I had one to offer, now as that changes, unlike Grinder, they need SO much more than I can give.....

Perhaps I should do a blog maybe?

I hope your family is happy and well, and that the Great Pumpkin drops many a magical seed upon your household this Halloween....:)

Sandra2, OTR's Mom, that's probably good as any. I hope you have a good weekend too. I think it might rain but I'm not afraid of rain, now lightning is a different story.

good morning! you need to, like, umm get so we can talk:) i got a long day today. i gotta get out of the house around 830, and will busy for the rest of the day. cut the grass, get my hair cut, my oldest girls birthday party....... hard to fit so many things into one day.

how have you been?

Good Morning Sandra, just wanted to stop by an wish you a good weekend.I'm looking forward to reading your book.

I'm talking about the service that makes all the phone calls to try to find a missing pet.

Sandra- What was the name of the "find a pet" service you used? And do you have their number? I know someone that wants to use them.

Fly by HI!

I'm busy, busy, busy....but I will take home over 1000 dollars this week. oh boy....worked 16 hours today, and 16 tommorrow will be 65 for the week.

Hey, Sandra!! Ready for the little black dress test? Hope you are doing well. Have a grand afternoon!

You're probably right. I've looked at several web sites and there are several wholesalers around. Most of them are around the same price and if we had say $300. We could get around 65- 3.25 oz. bags. Some of the places offer free shipping and it would only have to be shipped to the APO AE in New York. From there it would be in military hands. Just talked to my son this morning. He had to tell me about last night's rocket attack. He told me that he got the care package that we mailed last Tuesday. That's not bad. One week.

Sandra, also I purchased some apple cider at HT this past weekend and it is absolutely delicious, you should get some.

Sandra, I hope you are having a good day. I wish I had come up with that quote but my mom use to say that all the time and I have no idea where she got it from and she's dead. Has your husband had a colonoscopy? Thinking about my mom got me thinking about colonoscopies.

Sandra- I am in the process of doing a charity request with Jack Links Beef Jerky. It is an on-line site. Many hoops to jump through. I didn't have an answer for one of their questions. Which was where this shipment would be addressed. As of this point I still don't know. Haven't been able to find out who his chaplain is, but I just talked to my son and he's going to get that today. The only problem is this on-line submission says it could take up to 4 weeks even to get an answer. Do we want to wait that long or go ahead with what we got? If we did, maybe Ginger could contact the PX at Bragg and have them order the amount we need.

>My take is that if it’s alive it has a purpose to exist, and I have no right to terminate whatever it is here to accomplish. Life is life regardless of its form.< That sounds like a sound basis for a position on abortion.

The only beef jerky manufacturers I can think of is Jack Link and Pemmican (I think). If I have time today I will see if they have websites and contact numbers.

I would have no problem going with Ginger to Bragg, but it would have to be on the weekend. We might also need to call down there to make sure they have that large of a quantity on hand.

This is awesome. When do you think we should go ahead and buy the jerky? I told my son about it and he was blown away. He says that they don't hear about all the support from home. The communications is very limited. He told me that he has really got into reading the Bible. So maybe he is going to church and can find out the name of his Chaplain. I wish we had had this support when I was in Vietnam. There was none.

You guys are awesome. You just don't know how much I appreciate the support and how proud I am of you.

Hi ya Sandra...just sent you an email....:)

That's awesome Sandra!! Is that the Fort Bragg price?

sandra i sent you an email explaining it... i'll try to resend.

gal, if my Mum feels ok, we will see you on Saturday, thou the weather looks crummy. She is a sick 87 yr old, but not her mind...we discuss (ok argue) stuff on the phone at least twice a day. She is so politically smart. I usually just give up. Sigh...

Hey Sandra! It has been a while. I've been busy with a newborn. She's 4 weeks old (my first). She's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. My wife and I have never been happier. How are you?

You're so funny Sandra. Half my way back to work I kept thinking "man, that's one hot chick behind me!" and not until I was almost back at work did I realize "that was Sandra" "I know that hot chick!" You make that Camaro look good! Thank you for all you're doing. (your husband is so lucky) : )

Later hot chick! LOL

" Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe someday we'll have tiny little vampires crawling around Golo"

LOL! Thank YOU Sandra! HOPE your having a WONDERFUL week :)

Sandra: Thank you for your sweet words. I got blindsided by this one. Rocky was the old loving kitty...loved to be petted and paid attention to all the time. I will miss him so much. I have lost one a year for the last four years (ages 15, 9, 8, and 5)so I am ready for a break. Thanks for your (usual)sweet thoughts.

Hi, Sandra! We are in our temp quarters in the back yard and we are doing as grand as we can. Our old house is completely gone and they should start on the modular foundation by the end of the week. All the feline family is together, so we are doing good. Hope you are doing well. Thanks for asking.

“I have a hard time believing that anyone would not enjoy talking to you.” – Sandra Carrington-Smith

Thanks. I’m generally a quite person that keeps to myself, but if someone engages me I can talk all day, on any subject. I can be quite philosophical at times. Sometimes the smallest things will interest me. I’ll pick out a weed in a large field to focus on, realizing that I’m the only sentient being that ever pondered in thought about that particular weed. Weird, huh? I’ll never tell you a lie, even if I paint myself in a negative light. And as I’m sure you’ve seen, I will aggressively defend myself if need be.

I admire your writing. I’ve got several things bouncing around in my head that I would like to put to paper. My wife keeps telling me to write, but I just don’t have the time or energy at this time (work, kids, etc.).

Good morning Sandra - finally got home around 12:00 last night - we stopped at a Wendy's about an hour and a half from home and our truck wouldn't start - had been running just fine but wouldn't fire up after we stopped to eat...so it's still in Laurinbug and I have to find a place to get it towed and repaired.

Some weeks there are two "Mondays" - c'est la vie....

I found a Target Gift Card in my computer bag with your name and your address for the gas station on it. I was like OMG last night, I forgot to send it to you. I'll put it in the post this upcoming weekend when I get home, I hope you can still get that to the individual who needed it, or hold onto it for someone else in need.

sorry, I couldnt resist - some blogs I just dont post on though.

I hate I missed your blog this morning. I'm finding it hard to drag myself out of bed so early these days.

Mine is already a little devil. :)

roflmbo! one could go places with that comment - he he he

Where's salty when ya need him?

Hey Sandra - I think I've got it worked out to be of some help Saturday. What time is everyone meeting Saturday morning and what do I need to bring?

Glad you're back and hope your project went well!

Mornin` Sandra...Hope it`s a great day for ya!!!

*LOL* I made more Peach Pie and Apple Pie in a Jar so we were taste testing them!!! OMG Sooo good!!! I think Hubby is right...recipe #4 is the best as far as tasting the Peaches...I do like the Spices as well

I am off to bed...early morning tomorrow

*HUGS*

Morning Sandra,

Where's the post about sending jerky to soldiers? I must be getting in on the tail end of things, and haven't found more than a few comments about the endeavor in my research here.

Hope you & yours are well!

Terri

It always gives me a warm feeling when one of my "discoveries" makes someone smile or feel good. TY for your positve comments. And TY for your poitive outlook on all of your blogs and comments!!!

That's awesome Sandra! The letters will be great too. I remember being in Vietnam and the only mail I got was an occasional letter from my mother (who actually thought I was in Northern California)(I didn't tell her I had gone to Vietnam until I was home). I didn't have a girlfriend. I was only 17. I looked so forward to mail call, but was almost always disappointed. Those letters from my mother were cherished. Just something from home. I'm sure our current troops feel the same. Just know that your efforts don't go unnoticed. I think the world of you. Can I take you to lunch at the new C&H Cafeteria next week? Bring Lolly too. I love you guys to death.

Hey Sandra- I'm so grateful to your for heading up the Beef Jerky for the troops drive. I told my son about this and he thought it was awesome. Being so far away, they don't realize that the folks back home are really thinking about them. They feel very isolated. They had another mortar attack the other night. He said that he not only heard, and felt it, but he smelled it. That's getting close.

But anyhow, let me know what I need to do to help. I would be at the carwash next sat. but I have to work, for my company at the Charlotte race at their booth that day. I'll do the next one. Love ya girl!!!!

Sandra, I'm sure the pole dancing ladies would like that idea since they are responsible for cleaning the rig after their shift. Let me talk to them.

Sandra, I have been very good all year. I was thinking that Blog for Hope could help me get a kakapo. I've been doing a little research and I am pretty sure that I could get one for free with just a little planning.

I just will need a little financial assistance with the details and that is where Blog for Hope comes in.

My plan is to fly to NZ (will need plane tickets--pref business class as it is a long flight), and then I will swim Navy Seal style out to the island where the bird preserve is and pick a friendly (but not TOO friendly if you know what I mean)one out. Then I will need to be airlifted off the island and the bird will need to be smuggled back to the US.

Think it is doable?

;)

Operation Jerky should have a little more Paypal cash from me and Tim.

Goood Morning Sandra, stopping by to wish you a nice weekend.

Hey Sandra!!!! How is every little thing?

You'll get a kick out of this kitty pic too!

http://www.wral.com/golo/blogpost/6169659/

It is no big deal to me. I just got sick of the debating back and forth. I mean you beat the topic to death, leave it alone! But do not worry, this will not get me down, never did in the first place. Plus it is to beautiful outside and my lovely dog is outside watching me clean with her tail wagging. Its how you live your life that determines what you let control you and your feelings!
