Hi Sandra, once one gets "used" to cooler weather, 30 below is not ALL that cold! I think of real cold as somewhere below 35 below or colder. It does not get really cold until it hits -50 and really cold for even us is below -60. The coldest I have seen in almost 29 yrs is 74ish below. Most themometers are inaccurate below about -70

Your 9/9/09 blog was actually the last thing I read before it happened. It truly did help me keep in a positive frame of mind while that was going on.

Hey sandra =). How has my favorite author been? I did lose my job. There was a big mistake that I actually discovered. Unfortunately it was big enough someone had to take the fall. It was just my turn I guess. I am glad I was the only one. In that business...those poor people...never knowing if they have a job the next day. All things considered things are going good...even if a little tight. We work to live, not the other way around...so while a little scarey...I refuse to let it get me down. I'll be back talking everyone's ear off soon enough =)

Glad you see the resemblance too! With a spray-on tan they would have been interchangeable.

Hope you have a GREAT weekend, Sandra.

Yes, exactly about the weather! That would be perfect...Hope your getting ready for Thanksgiving...You do so many kind things for others...Have a good day Sandra!

Good morning! Hope all is well with you and yours today. I ran across an interesting organization online that you may be interested in reading about. From the first article I saw:

"International Board on Books for Young People, who practice bibliotherapy: reading to traumatized children all over the world (war zones, disaster areas, kids who've been abused). Incredibly humane, incredibly effective."

Link: http://www.ibby.org/index.php?id=951

Hi Sandra, so nice to "see" you!! I am glad things are going well for you. I am still working, albeit hopefully will be laid off soon!! It's hard to think about wildfires when it is dark, snowy and 25-30 below zero!! I hope to get down sometime this winter and would love to get to meet you. Take care and have a great weekend!! Oh, lovely pic of you on your profile!!

Hi there girly, I do think that once the real estate market improves, I'm going to downsize drastically and live the simple life. Purchase a very small comfortable place, and hopefully more funtional neighbors than I have now. lol

hi there sweetness, I hope you are doing good. ((((((HUGS)))))

Have a delightful weekend!

You just about made me choke on my sandwich when I read that. ROFL!!! Sandra Carrington-Smith

Step one: Do not eat and GoLo at the same time!

Thank you! I was having a fun time......and I couldn't help myself. Glad you got a laugh...and didn't really choke.

Hey Sandra! Guess what? Afghanistan has 100 more packs of beef jerky! I just got an e-mail from Zack. He is so delighted. He says he is going to hide his stash and give it away at church on Sunday. He will try to get some pictures then too. If he sends me any I will post them on GOLO immediately. Thanks for all you did. It won't be forgotten. GOLO ROCKS!!!!! (you rock GOLO!)

my daughter is still up to her tricks. Has a screen name that is similar to mine and posting junk. Mommy still wants her to come home and she figures if she ticks me off she will play the afraid card and justify staying with the boyfriend...this drama is as old as the hills and I am getting a new name and hopefully keep it from her before i do wring her neck

yea.. I'm just wondering about why he's doing what he's doing... like I just don't understand LOL.

OMG... They aren't really... its so weird... I don't get it. I'm not going to post it all up here though... I really don't understand....

sandra sandra sandra!!!!! so you never called me!!!!GR...

Sandra ~ I have read carefully the Forward, Preface, and Prologue from your two upcoming releases and my interest is piqued. What I glean from your delectable appetizer is a mirrored image of the two feasts to follow. This is brilliant. A tutelage for those who read "Housekeeping for the Soul: A Practical Guide to Restoring Your Inner Sanctuary" and an expository for those who read "The Book of Obeah" with both works resulting in the emancipation of characters and readers. I love the twist... {{{{{Congratulations}}}}}

Thanks.

He can leave me blocked and so on. Strange guy!

Hey Sandra,

Would you do me a favor. I noticed you are a friend of WilliamEBrantley (the yesterday's weather guy). Anyway, I've never posted on his blog before, but, today having noticed it a gazillion times, I did. All I really did was ask one of my (oddly) humorous questions. It was something like "excuse me, I was wondering why anyone would want to know what yesterday's weather is. Frankly, I don't even think the folks in Bemis care what yesterday's weather is. Could you explain?"

So, I guess the guy got highly offended because when I went back by I was blocked, ignored, and excommunicated. Could you just let him know that it was a JOKE, and that I really had no intention of offending him. (Apparently he takes yesterday's weather VERY seriously). I guess I'm just completely missing something about yesterday's weather. Oh, well. The main thing to communicate is that I did not intend to offend, and apologize. I don't mind being blocked though, so, he can leave it.

Sandra is hot.

"I had no idea cats like collards."

Me either! Apparently, I've been remiss in never offering collards to any of my other cats before they died.

Though none of them were so active in hunting/foraging for snacks like Dexter.

Sandra, Yes indeed both cats are already in the arms of others who will be able to do better by them than me...

I have cared for Crystal for over a year, and Bemis...well is story is well known....

Both are most assuredly in a place where they can find warmth as well as a steady routine. I have another trip departing tomorrow, and feel blessed at how rapid these events unfolded...

Had it not been for your blog, this never would have occurred. You as well as my mom, and Deb aka Dragon_lady have all become saviors not to me, but to these two precious cats.....

An immeasurable thanks to you and we REALLY need to get together for that coffee.....my treat....:)

really!!!

I.....uhhh.....I,m pretty sure thats my $5 dollar bill....Mine had a picture of Abe Lincoln on it and I realy need it back.....signed Honest J

"I got the papers you sent me. They are sooo cool and interesting! Thank you so much for sharing them. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}"

Neat stuff huh?

{{{{{{hugs back}}}}}}

I find it pretty amazing that you can take a fifteen minute test, with almost no thought to your answers and they can just nail your personality traits like that. My profile described me to a 'T'.

oohhhhhhhhhhhh......

well, gee. eh, er....thank you.....

that's what I like about poetry........it's never wrong because it's verbal art.......

thanx now woman!

http://www.wral.com/golo/blogpost/6364962/

Sandra, Maybe I'm too tough on movies, but I didn't think the new Scrooge held a candle to the original version. I went to the 3d showing which made it somewhat better. Is is worth 10.50 plus 15.00 for snacks? Probably not but if the gas station is doing well who cares about the cost.

Gooood morning and TGIF Sandra. Just wanted to say HI, and tell the Brit I said hey.

I love the new pic at the top of your profile!!

I wanted to ask you if I could consult with you regarding some meditation tools. Can we talk? My e-mail is my screen name at aol.com. :-)

Good Morning Sandra ~ Long time, no visit... BTW, I recently viewed one of your favorite films "The Skeleton Key" and loved the drama. That candle scene had a life of its own! :)

hey woman, got an idea for you: why don't you just BLOW everyone's mind and write a blogggg about something completely contrary to your 'normal' topics.... something heinous, evil or just plain off the wall that no one would suspect.....lol, it would freak some folks......and would be fun......

anyway, just an idea, could be fun too............

laters

OMG, Sandra! I followed that link, and am SO tickled! I love your new site. :)

Let's talk soon, k?

Much love, my famous author friend! :)

Jules

I'm doing great so far. Been on night shift (that's why I'm so late in answering.)

I went to your website last night, and found your other blog sites. I even read todays blog before you posted it here. I kinda like the advance previews. I feel special.

Hiya, sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days. How goes the rewrites?

:)

I honestly don't mind at all. I've always been open about my life - being homeles, molested, etc. The reason is - I hope that someone - if even just 1 person, can see me and say "If she can get through it, I can" and then move forward, then I've done something good and my life has made a difference.

What's hard for everyone to understand (even myself) is that I absolutely do not see myself as someone who can be beneficial to others. You said I'm an inspiration, and I've heard that on more than one occasion, but I just don't see that about myself. I want to be, I try to be, but I don't see it. But it goes all the way back to the image issue. What I see in my head, is still the 460 lb woman who hid from people, never looked people in the eyes from fear, and used her weight to keep people away. That's still in my head. Someone asked me today how I deal with the attention... simply? I don't. I get too much at work and I go home crying.. I don't know how to deal with it.

Sandra - I am so sorry I missed your blog this morning. I woke up late and ran out to the gym. I didn't have time to sit and have coffee and read like normal.

I'm also very embarassed LOL... It's extremely late, but I did answer you:

http://www.wral.com/golo/blogpost/6335107/#commentform

I missed all the action this morning...oh and tell the cat I said:

ssfffFFT!

It'll understand...

Good morning, Sandra. What would be a good time for me to call you today?

"Where on earth are you?"

Southport - home now and back to Southport tomorrow - finishing up next week...

Have to strike while the iron is hot!

Sandra, thanks for the kind words. I've been reading plenty of blogs, but staying away from the drama. LOL.

I am at your disposal, dear one. You know that. *smile*

They didn't give us any discount. Gingerleigh's friend who works there said that they sell it for exactly what they pay for it. It was still cheaper than a regular civilian store. $2.59 a bag. There was no tax but we had to pay a $10 surcharge. We left the shelf empty.

Hello Sandra, Gingerleigh and I made it to Ft. Bragg and wiped them out! We left with 92 bags of jerky! We got some strange looks in the store. We just told all the gawkers that we REALLY liked jerky! I bought 8 more bags on the way home to make it an even 100! Thanks for all your support. I'll ship it out tomorrow. I'll try to do a blog on it tomorrow.

hey gal, just did golo and saw your blog from this morning. My Mom is coming home from Boston tonight...I hope she is well. Whenever I walk the dog, I think of blog subjects, guess I should watch more football instead! If you ever get a wild hair, utube Goo Goo Dolls, Broadways Dark Tonight, NYC, a bunch of years ago, the Today Show, I was there and there is a fleeting glimpse of me.

"We just got back a little while ago...I'm dead...LOL"

You have the most amazing energy of anyone I have met in a long time!

/* giggle */

/* bump stumble bump */

/* giggle */

/* knock, knock, knock */

Trick or treat!

Sometimes attempts at humor are not easily communicated via this medium.

Narrow mindedness is subjective. The crux of the argument is proof. No one has been able to trot out any of the triumvirate and no one has been able to show empirically existence of their alleged deeds. Does requiring proof indicate narrow mindedness? Or does belief in a thing where no proof exists indicate narrow mindedness? Or are you using narrow mindedness incorrectly when you may mean something else.

I suspect the latter. Cheers.

"I'm not even going to argue with you"

Who's arguing? I was just pointing out your analogy needs a little work! Jeez. You'd think we were married. Yes dear. Sorry. Yeah, it was a very good analogy. I don't know what I was thinking. No, I haven't been drinking this morning, YET!
