Welcome to all new members! I just wanted to let everyone know that all members are 'editors' and can post image galleries and blogs, so if you have something you want to share, please do!
And go Heels!
about tar ... wait for it ... heels
This group is for any and everybody who loves the Tar Heels. Whether it's basketball, baseball, football, soccer, or any other sport, you are proud to call yourself a fan.
I just wanted to set this up, but anybody is welcome to post at any time. I expect a lot of activity when the seasons start! I will also post stories and other information on occasion, but I'll make everybody editors so you can post as you see fit.
(If you don't like the Tar Heels, please be respectful and do not join. This is a place for positivity and information sharing, not immature smack-talking. That's what the comments on the stories are for!)

Lawson is a one-man offense when he wants to be, and apparently he wanted to be last night! Davis is a rebounding animal. Thompson is really proving that he isn't just Hansbrough's sidekick. Drew II will be a solid floor leader next season, and Jay Bilas is always complementing his defense, which is fantastic. Danny didn't get his shot to fall last night, but when he's on, he can do everything on the court.
I know Harangody was very sick, and McAlarney was out of control, but I was very very impressed with the Heels last night!
Happy Thanksgiving, and congrats to the Heels for the Maui championship!

The Grid Iron Heels are needing to bounce back in a big way. I'm thinking they will do just that on Sat.

Tonight should be a good test to see where the Heels stack up. I don't think the Irish are a final four team, but they're pretty solid.
tam, I get nervous when I hear that much confidence - that whole karma thing. The Heels can't avoid the high profile and higher expectations, but strange things can happen in college hoops.

As for basketball, so excited to see Hansbrough in the lineup. He was a little rusty but he'll be back strong. It might have been a different game without all the little things he does. I am starting to realize also how much we really depend on Ginyard to defend and to keep people calm on the floor. His return will certainly be welcome next month. The game against UCSB was just sloppy on both sides.

The bad news is, that's right. The good news is, that's still not too shabby a team, at least on paper. I expect Thompson to emerge as one of the nation's best power forwards. Next year's team will be one of the youngest in the country, but one of the most talented as well. Unless they lose someone else unexpectedly.
