My son Austin, 5, was dropped off 4 MILES away from my home in a random neighborhood that he then walked 1/2 mile into the neighboorhood until he was found. He attends the SAME school. North Forest pines drive and was dropped by the SAME bus driver!!!! Our incident happened on JULY 9th. It was Austins 1st day of kindergarten. I have spoken with school officials as well as transportation officials all the way up the ladder to the superintendent. They gave me the same run around as they did the other mother. They assured me that is was an isolated incident and it was unfortunate. They told me that the bus driver would not be put on the route and he was suspended. Obviously not the case. He must have been then given the other little boys route. I need this reporters help to get this story out as well so this bus driver can stay away from children. Wake county transportation needs to know that this is NOT okay for their bus drivers to randomly pick somewhere to let children out...especially 5 and 6 yr olds. When I contacted an attorney to file child abandonment and child endangerment and child neglect against the driver the attorney cautioned me about the "Immunity" state workers fall under. He said there are so many loop holes state employees can fall into when the make huge mistakes and keep their position. I was mortified and so upset over this. Please help everyone.....the more the word gets out and up ---maybe then these loop holes in the system can be filled. I am willing to do any interview and any location to get this stupid, stupid man.
