In response to "The Diana Screen." Easily defeated if the test subject knows what it is. In fact, you'll laugh when you find out just how easily the test can be beaten! The entire thing rides on the theory that no one will know what it's really testing. ;)

A mom whose child was kidnapped by a stranger, and found 24 hours later molested and murdered, offers a more realistic approach to "stranger danger."

Not only does the philosophy sound right, the facts agree with the conclusion as well: the death penalty does zero to stop new murders from happening. No deterrent effect. The same thing happens if you examine sex offender registries...
http://sexoffenderissues.blogspot.com/2007/05/nj-study-scrutinizes-megans-law-effect.html
""Sex-offender rates are down, and we can't attribute it to Megan's Law," said Kristen Zgoba, a Corrections Department researcher leading the study. "Is it worth the amount of money and manpower we're pouring into it?"..."Megan's Law is riding the coattails of the natural downward trend," Zgoba said."
New sex offenses have been dropping steadily since 1990. Registries didn't even exist until around 1994. The drop hasn't escalated, and has JUMPED from time to time, since registries came into play.

Bones went private. I don't think it had anything to do with you. As far as the group, you did bring more things to think about and more guidelines to follow.
We had thought about changing the name, but only bones can do that.
There is still a lot to write about, but with CONVICTED in the name, it is limited.
There is a recipe swap group on golo. Are you interested in joining?

You have to admit, Bubbles, the entire premise of the group came crashing down when I showed up. I wonder if I am the reason, or if I've just got a God complex and subconsciously WANT to feel like I'm the reason; either way, when you finally realize that most sex crimes come from family members or friends with no criminal record, there's not much left to write about, is there...?
