Smile a lot -- it makes people wonder what you're up to! I grew up in the middle of nowhere, and that will always be my home. Now I'm into computer technologies -- it drives me crazy sometimes, but I love it.

Since joining GOLO, I've decided to start a Picture of the Day blog. Each day, I'll try my best to post a photo from my personal collection. While I'm at it, I'll ask a few questions or make a few comments to get your brains working and the conversation started. Everybody has a story to share -- feel free to share yours!

  • javajoe's Picture of the Day archives.
    • Here, you'll find all of my Picture of the Day posts from the past. Even if the day has already passed, stop in and share your comments - I'd love to hear them.
  • javajoe's Picture of the Day Group
    • Join the group to keep up with my daily blog post. Sometimes I post at 1-2AM, and by the time many of you login, my blog has disappeared from the GOLO homepage. So join the group, and easily find the link directly to my blog each day after I post!

The pottery was open at midnight Thursday night. They were going to stay open until 10 last night. I think they were opening back up at 7 or 8 this morning. I am not sure, but I know they post their Christmas hours on the website. I will go and look.

The website says 8 am. Have fun.

Just dropping by to say Good Morning and hope you have a great weekend.

I enjoyed your pictures, looking forward to seeing the finished project! Be careful up on the roof! Take care and goodnight.

Be glad that, that is all that happened to you! Looking forward to the pictures. Have a great week yourself.

I have taken some pics of my trees. Can you tell me how exactly to load them? I use the Kodak easy share. Do I need to save them to my documents or anything? Thanking you in advance. Raggedy

javajoe ~ decorations outside all up and running. It is awesome. Check us out if you are in the area -- neighborhood across Cary Parkway from the Fresh Market. You'll know it when you see it, trust me.

Hey darlin', I can hardly wait to see what the other 24 days of christmas are going to look like! I loved the gingerbread house. My stuff is, well...it's mine and I love it. Might not be to some's liking. I think your "sticks" are very ingenious. I look forward to seeing them...Have a good'un !!

Yes you did help me. Thank you so much. Some of the pics are up. If you can't tell everything has a theme. The white tree that is now red is up too. Thanks again.

Forgot: The snow tree you have to look really close to see the snow coming out of the top of the tree. I need to take a pic of the whole tree, but I was so trying to make sure I got the snow coming out.

It comes with this box that folds out. Your tree sits in that box. It is kind of big the way that it folds out. I went and bought some satiny material so that it drapes around the box and that made a big difference in the way that it looked.

Where did the blog go??? Well I am going to bed. Talk to ya later.

Hey, thanks for the compliment about my tree. It is almost too tall. It is a 9 footer. Unfortunately, I cannot get an angel or star on the top.

I often stand there myself looking at some of those ornaments.....wondering what in the hell they are doing there in the first place? LOL You're right on the picture, it is Bob Timberlake. I have several, though most are stuck in the closet.

Hey thanks, I am really looking forward to your show this week. :)

Hey, golo should be a family, right? dysfunctional.. but family none the less. Nice to meet you! *HUGS*

well said! :)

They are using html symbols to create blank posts. The more often Angela posts a list of top posters, the more you will see this. Folks can get credit for 100s of post, without having to type anything.

Thanks for the recipe! They turned out great. I tasted them this morning after baking them. Happy Holidays!

You are very welcome, nice weekend to you, also.

I am a member of the decorator's group. Good grief, those decorations look like a team of professionals did them. I am very humble in the face of such talent.

I am VERY impressed!!

you poor thing!! Those lego pieces were very small and the building was very detailed. I'm not kidding when I say it took my hubby all night. We got it put back together, then the next summer, we received orders to come back to the States,,had to take it apart. It has never been put back together since and my son is almost 20 years old now

You've been such a joy since coming to GOLO. I've enjoyed the pics of the day blogs, very much. You have a talent, for more than photography. Have a wonderful holiday and a new year full of love, peace and great joy...

Merry Christmas my friend!!

Great tree silhouette pic. Good colors in the background and real nice form of the tree.

Here ya go darlin. Enjoy

Merry Christmas

Hard to believe another year is almost gone. Hope your weekend was nice as well. Back to the grind tomorrow!

Hey Javajoe! I used the picture from your profile for Sandra's blog for hope. Hope you're okay with that. -Angela

Feel free to use some of my resolutions, they are expandable

Yeah Joe we had a great time at Disney. My 2 1/2 YO grandaughter was full blast the whole week. She loves that Minnie Mouse and them princesses. Papaw liked the princesses too!

Hey Joe, if you run out of inspiring things to shoot, try Atkinson Mill Co. on Hwy 42 east of Clayton. It's a picture/ scene just waiting to be snapped. Enjoy your weekend.

Thanks JJ! I like for my pics to tell a story. If for some reason they don't then by gosh I'll make them tell one! LOL

Thank you sugar, Irises are one of my favorite flowers, truthfully...I love all flowers. Can't take credit for the photo though, got in an email.

Have an awesome weekend....

Thanks for the email addy, I'll send those pics for your enjoyment. Have a great day tomorrow....sleep well.

Hope you have a great week end as well.

hope you have a great week! *HUGS*

That's what I'm tawkin' 'bout!

Thanks! I might intro in to our reading with that- PBS Docs are pretty easy to get ahold of! BTW- I love your pictures of the day!

i take pics everywhere i go,lol

im off to bed, have a good night

Good Thursday morning to you Love and thanks for the warm thoughts you left on my page. Hope you are having a good week.

It's on its way Buddy!! I read on WRAL today that next Wed. might be the start of some of the coldest air that you guys have had since '85!! We are supposed to be up to around 10 above zero by then...and usually when ya'll are on one side of normal, we are on the other. I hope it holds true this time...we are SICK of this cold!! Today is day 13 of below -40. I have to go downtown here in a minute to pick up my girlfriend and it is 41 below out right now...I do not particularily like driving in it, but have to go get her.

The difference between -50 and 0 is ENORMOUS!! You can't even imagine how nice even 20 below feels after weeks of 50 below!! And to top it off...cars run good again! Right now, one has to go very slowly for the first 1/4 mi. to round the tires out and get the fluids flowing again. When I say slowly, like 2-3 MPH slow. And at that, you go BUMP, BUMP, BUMP, Bump,Bump, bump, bump, then they finally slowly round out.

Lol, I was just trying to be funny after the more "serious" previous blogs. I'm not dyslexic. I'd have worried also about that teacher, if she were mine wouldn't want to be near a Kabooom!!!

I think snow is beautiful. I think it is awesome to wake up to the sparkle of the sun shining on ice laden trees. It all make for some great pictures. But then the snow turns to ugly mush and the ice does a lot of damage. Guess we gotta learn to take to good with the bad!

Who, me obvious? No way!! LOL!

I was looking at your pics of Occoneechee Mountain and thinking to myself I could have walked right by you sometime and never known it. LOL I go there often.............
