Smile a lot -- it makes people wonder what you're up to! I grew up in the middle of nowhere, and that will always be my home. Now I'm into computer technologies -- it drives me crazy sometimes, but I love it. 

Since joining GOLO, I've decided to start a Picture of the Day blog. Each day, I'll try my best to post a photo from my personal collection. While I'm at it, I'll ask a few questions or make a few comments to get your brains working and the conversation started. Everybody has a story to share -- feel free to share yours!

favorite tv shows: the news, almost any comedy, lost

favorite restaurants: my kitchen - there's always something available and ready to eat, no gas mileage involved

Hi Java...OMG I did not think of this when I planted the pumpkins *LOL* I have them near my acorn squash and in front of my corn...Popping Pumpkins, Acorn Pumpkins, YIKES *LOL* Got to love nature and the pollination system. My Friend laughed at me the other day because I could not kill a bee...I said I need them for my garden.

Well it looks like a good gathering. I tried to post on some folk's profiles but can't get everyone. Let's set the date and time for Tuesday at 1 PM at Golden Coral in Cary,hopefully the crowd will have thinned out some by then. I guess everyone knows Sandra, so why don't we meet in front. I posted my picture here as well. Should I ask the restaurant for a section to hold for us? If you want we can get name tags?Any ideas are welcome!!!I am excited by the number coming and hope more will come.Spread the word.

I asked that he be near you At the start of each new day; To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way!

Thank You Java!!! You can save plants with Bottom Rot/Black Spot very easily...did I send you the E mail on it??? I will find and forward you the information just in case. I had to find it for another GOLO Member who was having a problem...need to ask if it helped any. I think it is as easy as adding some Baking Soda and Water to the soil or plant a couple weeks. I am waiting for the Yellow Tomatoes to turn...we have had several red ones and the Cherries both Yellow and Red Tomatoes. I was going to send the one picture to you for your "Guess This Photo" but ended up putting it up *LOL*

Yes I put eggshells, coffee grounds, etc in a compose pile...you can even break up eggshells into a gallon bucket and add water...helps with calcium too

Ohhh that does make sense...Thank You for sharing that!!! I would put it in the bigger feeders and not the Thistle since it may clog the hole being they are sooo small...or really crush the egg shell down. Someone once told me to put red pepper in the bird seeds...birds do not feel the hot seeds but squirrels do.

We know some folks that have weekend homes at the river- and the in laws head down there with their RV and set up camp in the yard and we all cook out and have a good time playing and fishing in the river. I don't think there are any organized community type events down there. Its only about 45 minutes from where we live, so we just make a day trip out of it. Fun times!

Yes, onions on pizza! :) The onions and olive have to be sliced and laying on top of the pizza, not embedded. You should try the ingredients with ham. Very good. And, I cook with a lot of garlic, but I don't want it on my pizza. Try it! ")

Ump, fried onion rings and BBQ sound great! But, no way do I think I would enjoy that combo on a nice piece of pizza dough. Sounds kinda dry to me, but hey, if that okay with you... LOL I don't even think the cheese would tighten that taste bud for me.

That sounds like torture! The exlax, I mean. I love cheese too. Let me suggest you start off by eating a nice fruit salad, loaded with berries, so you don't suffer too bad.

I have to treat myself once and awhile too, but it's on the expensive side - lobster. That's like a once a year treat. But, it only hurts my pocketbook!

Really strange--just mentioned that I've been wanting to go by The Loop -- checked my email & had a notice that they are having a special this weekend for the 4th. I really like the favor of the crust, as it has a touch of corn meal in the dough. Good time to try it.

Java, Hobgood is a small place - use to be considered a large place before there were alot of roads and ways of transportation. If you followed hwy. 97 out Rocky Mount... Atlantic Avenue Exit off 64 turn right until traffic light. Turn right again (97) Follow it until it ends.... Stop sign (25 miles).... turn left and one mile you are in Hobgood........ Of course I don't know where you would be coming from, there are a few different ways to get here.

Oh, that's gooooood pizza. Back in the day my wife and I would order a deep dish meat lover from there and I'd be seriously set. I love deep dish, not the thin NY style. Chicago style/deep dish is the best to me too.

However, now that I'm on the backside of middle age, I very rarely eat pizza; it goes straight to my hips. ;^)

*LOL* Java...don't you just love Corn on the Cob!!! I hope it will be a good year for it. I planted 4 types but we will see what we get. My Mother and Father n Law just brought us a bunch up from the Coast that was soooo good!!! Thank Goodness for those air tight sealing...can have Garden freshness all year round...and a deep freezer *LOL* Have you ever had a Yellow Tomato??? My Mom use to grow them for my Sister when we were growing up...she could not have a lot of acid as her mouth would break out bad...some people who suffer acid reflux or such eat the Yellow ones...I like them to make a salad a bit more colorful.

Happy Fourth Of July ole pal!!! Today is the day I dream about a lot during every winter, wishing it would hurry up and come back around! I LOVE summertime...doing things like sitting outdoors watching all the birds and squirrels, or climbing aboard my boat and motoring out to sea...ummm I mean lake... Cruising my ole faithful fishing holes.

Hi. Hope you don't mind, since you don't know me (I'm OK, I'm a friend of Lolly's), but I saw your comment about blossom end rot on your tomatoes. The solution is to apply about a handful of lime to each plant, as it will supply the calcium the plant lacks. My tomatoes got it last year and the lime worked like a charm.
