Hi everybody!

I am a fattie! I am round and plump. I am 160 pounds and I'm 5'1".

I would love to lose weight, but I find food hard to resist. I shall come back later to visit this group, but I wanted to stop in and introduce myself!

:-)

Beth

I have been so stressed out and I can't stop eating... I have been trying to stick to fruits, veggies and yogurt, but there are just days when only DQ will do... I don't want to get on the scale...

I'd like to get 25 to 30 pounds off, but I swear at this point, I'd be happy with getting 10 off and keeping it off. I had my last baby at almost 43, it took a while to get that weight off, and I'll be honest, starting back smoking seemed to help. But 3 years ago, I also quit smoking, and my body seems to have decided that 142 at 5'2" is where it wants to be, and I hate it! (I'm very small boned). I'll get 5 pounds off -- by almost killing myself with watching what I eat and excercising, and then I look the wrong way and it's right back on. It's very frustrating, especially when all my life, if I wanted to drop 10 pounds, I'd drop it, and that would be the end of that! I sure miss those days!!! :\

Kitcat I'm in the same boat...stress makes me weak and leaves me with less willpower. Food can be like a lotion to sooth the brain sometimes. Being somewhat overweight puts even more stress on top of stress. It can be a vicious cycle. Up and down - up and down on the scales. Sometimes willpower doesn't come easy. I know. I think the first step is for me to start eating more healthy foods. But that can be difficult when time is a factor and fast foods are so easy to choose.

I have been introduced to the website www.sparkpeople.com. On this site, there is a food journal, exercise tracker, many articles about anything to do with health and weight loss, and more. You can even set up your own page like a myspace page and join groups that have the same challenges you do. I don't know if I will do the nutrition tracker instead of WW, but it is still pretty cool.

My issue is stress! I seem to get more lax with more stress. I try to watch what I do and how I do it but the pounds crept up on me. Now I have 50 lbs to lose. I don't look it, I do gain weight well, (gained in the right places if there is such a thing) I guess but still not healthy. I quit smoking, quit drinking as much, eat a little more healthy. Health food is just so much more expensive than the trip to McD's. When you have kids, it is much easier to run there, too. What helps you guys curb the temptation and what works so that it is quick and easy for your families?

faithful...that's great news about your weight loss!...i haven't been brave enough to get on the scales...i've just gotta quit being lazy and get my but in gear!...we're going to the beach next month and i would love to lose a few pounds before then...

faithful, weight watchers is the best thing ive tried...need to get back in the habit so i can lose this tire belly thing ive got goin on...

Hey, I have lost 5.5 pounds in the last 2 weeks! I have basically been cutting my portion size, eating more fruits and veggies, and making sure I get enough fluids in. I am actually using Weight Watchers guidelines do to this, although I am not attending meetings. This week, I am going to try to start incorporating some activity.

I may still do the compulsive/emotional eating group. Right now, I have been reading Beth Moore's "Get Out of that Pit", and it has helping me make some self-realizations that I hope will put me on the track to lifetime healty changes as I discard these ingrained thought processes from my childhood. Without dealing with some of these issues, I don't think I will stay successful. I feel like I may finally be on the right track!

I fluctuate between size 8-10. I'm not what I would consider heavy, but my waistline has definitely relaxed over the years. My problem is not that I'm necessarily unhappy with my size, but I am having the devil of a time finding clothes. I've reached the point when I NEED some new clothes and I'm finding that very difficult. Either clothing is designed for the 20-somethings who can wear form-fitting clothes, or they look like maternity clothes on me (while comfy, not the looking I'm going for.

UGH! Today was a day of torture, but I finally found 2 pairs of shorts and 5 shirts. Where are the clothes for women who want to dress nice, but know we're not 20 anymore?
