Noah's Ark

Everything I need to know, I learned from Noah's Ark.

  • ONE: Don't miss the boat.
  • TWO: Remember that we are all in the same boat!
  • THREE: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
  • FOUR: Stay fit. When you're 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
  • FIVE: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
  • SIX: Build your future on high ground.
  • SEVEN: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
  • EIGHT: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
  • NINE: When you're stressed, float awhile.
  • TEN: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
  • ELEVEN: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

Aw, I understand. Take care and remember, there's ALWAYS room in the boat!!

Amy, Thank you for letting me know. Are you at liberty to tell me his name? I went to Burlington a month ago, see my blog here;

http://www.wral.com/golo/blogpost/5574645/

to honor another young fallen hero. I also have a friend here on GOLO who is involved with "Blue Star Moms".

There is a recent movement, to honor our servicemen & women, and the reason I'd like his name, is so I can follow up to find out when his remains are being returned. There is also a group called "Patriot Guard Riders" who escort the hearse & family. It's very touching to see all the Americans lining the roadways with flags and veterans saluting our heros.

If you can't tell me his name right now, I understand...but I'd like to request that if you can give his name a little later on, please let me know.

I'd like to be one of the ones honoring this young man. I'm in Durham, so this one is close enough for me be there.

thanks, Bart

Thanks Amy.... Any other info would be appreciated, was he army, marine, the town in Person.... I just looked and I don't see anything yet, but you just said he was killed this weekend, right? if you know anything else, that helps for planning purposes.

Thanks again, bart

Amy, so sorry to read of the loss of this brave young man. My thoughts and prayers are with you and his family.

Do you know when they might be flown here to NC? Thanks for the update.

The format of my last comment got messed up, so here's the PGR state Contact page:

http://www.patriotguard.org/LeadershipContacts/StateCaptainsContactsPage/tabid/57/Default.aspx

And the email address only;

I see that Bart posted Ron's email address- cowboynnc@triad.rr.com

Also, did the Chapter President of Blue Star Moms up your way contact you? She told me she had seen your posting on here. We have some things we like to present to the mothers of the Fallen. Let me know if you've heard from her (Patti) or not. We typically meet privately with the family, oftentimes right before the standard visitation. We want to honor and support the mothers of our Fallen Heroes. That is part of our charter, and we take it very seriously.

We make a "Memory Book" for the mother...letters, poems, prayers...something she can hold onto, after she gets past the first few weeks. I also have a lovely, lovely friend who heads up the Gold Star Mothers in NC in this area. I'm sure she would love to help and support your friend. We all would. We all know, that the next call could be to one of us. Keep me informed. The Blue Stars from my chapter (Raleigh and points south to include Fayetteville) would want to be able to honor her, too.
