Up until I met him, I had always thought him to be a very BIG man, in stature as well as presence.
One thing that was kind of funny was, he had a pet peeve about people using two hands to carry a tray.
One of the corporals who was serving with me at the ball made the mistake of carrying a tray full of champagne in flutes on one hand over her shoulder.
He snuck up beside her and gave the edge of the tray a little tap, sending it all showering down on top of her - dress blues and all.
Kinda naughty. LOL
Have you ever read the book "Marine"? Wonderful biography about his life.
And did you know Patton was his cousin? Interesting!

The guest General was Chesty Puller, whom I had the opportunity to meet. He was a very small man with a very big attitude. ;o)
And he got me good by saying, "Corporal, I want to inspect the ladies head." I said, "Sir, you can't go into the ladies head." He said, "Corporal, are you telling me I can't go into the ladies head." I stopped for a moment, then said, "NO SIR!!!" And beat a path into the ladies head to announced, "Man aboard."
It was funny watching all those dowdy middle-aged officer's wives pull their altogethers together and scatter. ;o)
But yeah, he was like a little rooster.

I believe the exact same thing about politic and sex... neither are conversations I care to have with my mother.
She got on her Obama kick and when I said I didn't want to discuss it, she wigged out on me, assuming that I was a McCain/Palin supporter... Truth be known, I have have problems with blood pressure (which almost resulting in an aneurysm not too long ago) ... I am too young to die of such a fate.
Needless to say I almost had another such episode from a blood pressure spike last night. Luckily I was able to keep my stress level down to where I only suffered a slight headache, and in the past I have blacked out when my parents stressed me to that level when I lived with them, hence the reason I moved out nearly 7 years ago. They have always caused such problems with my health and sometimes I wonder if they're trying to kill me. I'm not joking either. :-(
