about tax man
I support the Fair Tax - it is a just way for our government to collect taxes without the social/economic negative impact and uncertainty of the existing system. You are only taxed based on your spending/consumption, not on how much you make - you keep all your wages and only pay a national "sales" tax on new items you purchase - no more social security - medicare taxes, no "loopholes" for special interest groups - everyone pays based on what they can afford to purchase. Also makes it nearly impossible to cheat on taxes, so it is fair to all!

I saw a recent post you made indicating you served in Vietnam. I just wanted to thank you for your military service - your service and sacrifice are appreciated. I know that part of American history is not our greatest hour in how service members were treated. As a veteran myself, I consider all members of the military and emergency personnel (police, fire, rescue) the TRUE heroes of our society. God Bless.

I understand what you're saying now and I agree with you on that point.

"Just take away all of the state employees' pay until they get the budget back on track! That includes all members and staff of the GA. And no retroactive pay, if the budget is not final, no paychecks for the period of time it is delayed after 7/1. These fools need to be taught a lesson and the only thing they understand is money in their own pockets. So take it away!"
Why are advocating penalizing ALL State Employees because YOUR elected officials can't seem to get it together? Why do folks always want to make State Employees the Scapegoats? As a former State Employee I can assure you that the average Joe that works for the State has no more control over how much money the Legislature desides to spend or not spend tan you do.

Not widely public on the university/college level. Salaries of professors are kept fairly un-public, but you can get a general idea if you want to spend hours sifting through old on-line records at their websites. The reason I know hers is a little lower is that I had to compile a record on salary trends in higher education (public and private) over the past 25 years, and the various institutions provided their salary ranges.
Not ALL professors make over $170K, but those with the outside professional experience she has, plus their teaching loads, run about $200K.

Actually, at the increased salary of $170,000 she is still slightly UNDER the going rate for people - either professors or lecturers - with her educational and work experience credentials.
