about crocus

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world"
-Mahatma Gandhi

Hey guys/gals.  This is just an FYI.  I am going through my friends list.  I'm going to be pretty ruthless about it as I am going to be switching to friends only soon.

Don't take it the wrong way if I remove you.  In the past, I've  typically accepted all friends requests.  However, this means that if I want to post things friends only it is pretty much pointless as I have all kinds of folks on my list.

I'm going to go through my friends list and remove anyone that I haven't spoken with recently or who I really don't have that much in common with.   There are a group of folks on here that love the drama and go poking around other people's profiles looking for it.   And truthfully, if I think that your friends are crazy or one of the drama hounds, I'm probably going to remove you unless we are really tight.

As I said, it isn't personal so much as I am tired of all the cattiness in here and am going to restrict my GOLO profile and feel this is a good way to do it.

 Best regards,

Yes, this weather always made me dream of retirement ,since I was a mail carrier. I have truly enjoyed this last winter of just being able to stay inside and not fight the elements. This apartment doesn't have a fireplace . I miss having one , as I used to be able to have a really good one going in minutes. yes, most kitties luv cuddling close to a warm spot. Tigger just takes over my chair when I get up from the computer. Tigger's 5yrs old now and just the best cat ever. I adopted him from the dismount that I had on my mail rt. (it was a vet hospital) He was only about 12 wks old and I kept him close and snugglely , so I guess he just stayed like that. oops, I've let another day go by and haven't done much of anything !! God bless you and hope you heal up as good as new. :>

well I am far from a vegan but I would opt for vegies or a salad before I would eat that dogfood ...

doesnt surprise me ... think it takes bout 1/2 year for a twinky to break down

HAH I love you admitted to lovin' the aging Brett Michaels and his search for "love." And I noticed you like Flight of the Conchords! I love them! Second season is shaping up to be better than the first, lol.

I'm loving this season of FoTC too! I was reading an article about them and they had said the reason it took so long between seasons was that they used up the majority of their material the first season and they had to write a bunch of new stuff. But it's all so hilarious! My favorite from this season has definitely got to be either "too many d*cks on the dancefloor" or "sugarlumps."

Hope you had a blessed St Paddy's Day. My roommate & I went and celebrated at his favorite spot. Met up with several friends. Sooo glad to see the sunlight and now I finally feel like cleaning . LOL

Hadn't seen you a lot lately. Hope you're improving and doing well. How's the ankle? you can always email me : anitathebaptist@hotmail.com Have a blessed day :>

Hey Crocus, I watched the finale for BSG on Friday night and it was spectacular. There was only one character that I had any problem with his/her resolution. Otherwise, it was perfect.

April 20th, the DVD for the pilot for the new series Caprica comes out, and then later this fall, "The Plan" -- a movie about the Cylon side of the story is out as well.

There's talk of a movie as well, this time in the theatres.

I doubt we have seen the last of BSG.

Are your initials D.D. by any chance?

probably true, but it wouldn't be fair for the dog, as we are away from the house for most of the day!

LOL, I think we will probably get a puppy this summer when my wife is at home. My son already thinks it is set in stone!

I am changing your status to Admin on the Vegan/Vegetarian Group so you can work your magic...not sure what you mean by loosing the recipes *smiles*

It help when I post back on yours UGH...

Thank You Crocus...he is a cutie BUT must be returned to nature when he can fly...he has been sitting on Ariel shoulder and hand most of the day not fearing people. We can't keep him because we have dogs that would just kill the poor fellow.

Hope things are going well with you!!!

It sounds like a great idea!!! I wish I knew how to do like they do for Cakes and Cookie at Holidays...they highlight and goes right to recipe

Too funny....I will have to see if I can find my pic of the teeny tiny turtles that live at Greenfield Lake in Wilmington and post it.

hi , Dexter looks a lot like Tigger. Hope you're doing well and life's treating you great. Tmw's our craft fellowship again. Would really like to meet you someday . Tigger has taken over cleaning himself while all over my feet . LOL aaah - get the feeling he think he owns me !?

thanks -- enjoy chatting w/ you . oh , yes -- definitely am the slave to the cat. But , when its as cute & sweet as Tigger , I truly don't mind. Had him since he was 12 wks old & thoroughly have enjoyed spoiling him . only now -- the roommate's been rubbing him & spoiling him . Tigger lays between us (when we 're on our computers) like -- who's going to pet me first ? Hope you're staying dry & warm -- Tigger's keeping my feet warm. :>

yes those baby owls are so ugly but cute..WHO WHO

Cool idea you did with the Group with the recipes!!! Thank You!!! I don't know if others will be able to add to it...will have to be one of us (You, Me, or Sue) I think though I could be wrong...I usually am *LOL*

We just finished a game of cards with the Children...off to bed!!! Long weekend coming up!!!

Thank You Again *HUGS*

Thanks for asking...It was an inside joke I guess. Im not really sure yet. Just one of my silly random comments...Hope your having a nice day..

May I ask your first name?

ok crocus or lily...enjoy your day....Pleasure chatting...

I have never played online games like that... Im not sure how they are played, but they sound interesting.

Yes, I guess very much like real life....thank you for sharing.

I knew that recipe would be good. I'm waiting for the tomatoes at the produce farm where I buy my produce to be ready, and then I'm making it too! I'm really glad you liked it. Did you see Gingerleigh's blog about the cook book? It's going to have a vegetarian section in it. We could just call that the Crocus Section, LOL

Ha! I'm glad I made you laugh. The only other Six Feet Under that made me chuckle was the guy backing out his driveway, reaches down for the newspaper and runs over his head. I felt bad laughing, but dayum. How do you run over yourself? :)

Thank you, Crocus for sending them along and for leaving a message on my profile...I wasn't sure it was you in the email. Keep 'em coming. :)

I know exactly the one you're talking about, the one Angela blogged about. I bet he'll share, and I'll ask him now. :)

Hey, haven't talked to you in awhile (really haven't been around golo much lately) but wanted to say good morning. Hope you're doing well.

No, thank you for doing that. I was out and about all day and the more attention we bring to the cookbook, the better.

Thanks again, I'm going to go check the comments now. :)

You mentioned you removed a comment I posted on one of your blogs that I was off-topic. Not a problem. I know I am sometimes guilty of doing that. Thanks for letting me know.

They are all different and all endearing. Even Lulu, who brought a live mouse into our bed!

Morning , Crocus -- looked up the crochet directions for a bed for Tigger. But , he sleeps so well beside me . Thanks -- that is a neat design ,through. Hope you're doing well. Dexter sounds like a lot of fun. Don't know what I'd do w/o Tigger. He's just the most loving cat I could ever ask for. {{{hugs}}}for a blessed day --

too funny -- LOLOL I definitely can relate , as nothing is done without Tigger sniffing it over to make sure its "safe" ! As soon as I place the grocery bags on the floor , he is checking everything out while I'm putting stuff away. I've found that of our human food , Tigger likes the bread-type items , such as biscuits & 'deleted -thanks to Angela". He also seems to go after cheese . Anyway, got-ta luv our pets!! They're so relaxing!

(i'm sorry -- the word that had to be delete is soooo stupid ! its an every day item that you can have w/ soup , but no matter how I re-created the word -- they won't print the comment.I have written Angela but never got a reply )

Thanks! Those were so cute! and , again - Dexter looks very much like my Tigger. Tigger has just a little white around his mouth . But , he definitely has my roommate wrapped around his paw !! LOL They are so funny together. After learning some of my roommate's past , I'm so glad that he has made friends w/ Tigger. The unconditional love of a pet is so important in trusting again. Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks ;)

Hi! I'm a HUGE Joss Whedon fan. Have you seen Dr Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog?

I have not watched Castle nor Dollhouse. I honestly can't stand Eliza Dushku (spelling?) I actually don't watch TV at all. I just rent movies off Netflix and whatever looks good. Firefly came recomended from a friend and I was hooked immediately! I've watched it so much my DVD skips.

You can check out some of Dollhouse and Castle on Hulu.com. Someone just told me about it yesterday and I planned on checking it out sometime this weekend.

Our four cats get one small can of food split between them just before bedtime each night.

It's our attempt at giving them a signal to settle down, and low and behold, once in a while it works and the go to sleep for a while.

;o)

God bless.

RB

I'll look into seeing if I can find and drawings / schematics for the vacuum and get back to you.

Thanks,I appreciate it.Hope you get the help you need with your vacuum cleaner.Did you have a warrenty on the new engine? I put a rebuilt one in my blazer and I have a 6 month one.

My dad is the same way now. He used to be real good at fixing anything, but as he's gotten older...Well...Bless his heart....LOL

I think you jinxed me...my washer crashed mid cycle, full of water...I'll mess with it after dinner but so your vacuum is #2 on my list now...sorry.... Did you look at the link to the manual i sent???? Just to know if it looks similar to yours... Let me know?

Bart

If you have the money change the water pump as well. Was it a used engine? if so how many miles.Check and see when you should change the timing belt and put that on your to do list. You should alright after that! You could check your owners manual for guidelines. My bearings went out of my engine.Had well over 200 thousand miles on it.I was trying for a million.....sigh

OMG! SNAKE!"

when I was 14, I worked at a church camp. One of those mountain lake, shabby hut type places. I had 3 6-year-olds in a canoe. I was paddling around the lake - it was the first week that camp had opened, after being closed for 42 weeks. Over the winter, a family of water moccasins had moved in to the lake.

I have poor eye sight. I looked around the canoe...thinking I was seeing a dead tree limb or something. Our canoe seemed to be surrounded by tree limbs suddenly.

then the first water moccasin head came out of the water, less than 3 feet from the children. I got an adrenaline rush like I have never ever had since. We were surrounded by water moccasins.

continued

I paddled like crazy and we all got away safely. But the older councilors explained to me that water moccasins were territorial and that they worked in packs - like wolves. Just because you see one moccasin with a fish in his mouth...do NOT forget to look for his buddies!!

"it would have been upset to have 100lb dog belly flop on it."

I have to agree. I would rather spot the snake eating the fish successfully than discover it by accident.

We used to have chickens and one time I reached in to the roost to get the eggs. Instead I touched a great big black snack that had eaten the eggs. I screamed and ran out of there. My husband told me it was a good thing I ran when I did because a copperhead was in the other corner where I would have been headed. *shudder*

Snakes definitely can make for good stories. :-)

Ha on the marriage thing.Dh was in the Army so guess who had to do it all???? Yup me! Get triple a and you can have it towed in cases like this.It is about 100 a year but that pays for one tow.I have not regreted triple a at all. They are outstanding. I am glad you are havng gone over. This should prevent anything else.Take care!

OK.. I can't find Being Human on Hulu! Only 2 or 3 episodes are on BBC webite. I saw the pilot on Youtube... I'm hooked... where are you getting it?

http://www.drhorrible.com/

If you scroll down it has a "watch it now" button

Just FYI... I got my washer fixed today. Roughly $30 for parts. Then dad got in there and the fixture in the wall....the "Cold" spigot, started leaking. We had to call a plumber for that one and ran $79 for the house call.

I did 2 loads of clothes since about 5 this afternoon....LOL
