about crocus

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world"
-Mahatma Gandhi

Hey guys/gals.  This is just an FYI.  I am going through my friends list.  I'm going to be pretty ruthless about it as I am going to be switching to friends only soon.

Don't take it the wrong way if I remove you.  In the past, I've  typically accepted all friends requests.  However, this means that if I want to post things friends only it is pretty much pointless as I have all kinds of folks on my list.

I'm going to go through my friends list and remove anyone that I haven't spoken with recently or who I really don't have that much in common with.   There are a group of folks on here that love the drama and go poking around other people's profiles looking for it.   And truthfully, if I think that your friends are crazy or one of the drama hounds, I'm probably going to remove you unless we are really tight.

As I said, it isn't personal so much as I am tired of all the cattiness in here and am going to restrict my GOLO profile and feel this is a good way to do it.

 Best regards,

Not so much the books but I love the name.

Where is this apartment complex?

hi -- yes, I'm on the 3rd floor and its nice to know that I feel fairly safe allowing him to go out and enjoy the weather on his own. I did catch him 'once' trying to walk the teeny-ledge outside the railing!! aagh!! But, he's a great cat & I have a comfy towel on a chair for him to soak up the sun. Don't know what I'd do without him.

I can't believe that. Some people just don't have a clue. They all have their rights but what about mine. I don't like to hear that mess either. I think I am just gonna stare at the person that is doing it. It worked that one time. LOL. Nah might get me cut. Probably just safer to move on like you.

Thank you, Crocus. I'm psyching myself up for another stab at quitting. I know one of these times it will stick!

Sending you a handshake. :)

re: "3368 days, 12 hours, 28 minutes and 33 seconds smoke free. 67370 cigarettes not smoked. $10,104.00 and 17 months, 4 days, 15 hours of your life saved." What a fantastic way of illustrating the benefits of quitting! TY

Good late morning and thanks for the friend request!

Let me just say it was about something he does in his pants *LOL* I was laughing so hard...blonde in a grocery store and such...

I know what you mean. Sometimes I wont bother to try to open the closed minds on here. LOL. Hope you are having a good day.

The group is called...The Lonely Island

I just looked it up on YouTube

Let me know if it makes you laugh...

Yeah that is one you should not listen to at work *LOL*

OMG that is sooo funny!!! "Your So Beautiful" Thank You for sharing!!!

Hey, Crocus, I am more than a little intrigued by the idea of vegan pumpkin "cheese"cake....please do share!!!

Here we go...can't wait to share some recipes and such with you

You will have to Blog that Recipe Tofu Pumpkin Cheesecake...

BTW I fix the Editors and such...did not know I had to do that...Thank You!!!

Hey, Crocus, hope you're having a great weekend.

Thank you so much for your caring and touching message on my profile about my furbaby.

There is comfort in knowing that had I not rescued him some 19-20 years ago, his life would have been impossible because when I found him (someone had tossed him into my front yard), he was only about 4" long and the vet said he was only about 6-10 days old.

How wonderful to spend time and space with our beloved furbabies, and folks like you, dear friend.

With love.

God bless.

RB

LOL you and me both!

Just wanted to stop by and say "hi"!

Hope you have a great week!!!

Hi. Thanks for sending me the link to TMedlin's posts. I didn't know about that. How horrible.

Indeed. When I go, I ask for just a scoop..LOLOL..I love all the mock chicken things they cook. My favorite is the mock chicken chutney with broccoli and curry. It is soo good. The guy said you can order stuff they dont make but you have to buy it in a 2 pound minimum. And I am not sure if I can eat all of that or how long it would last.

I need to look them up. Never heard of it. Sounds good. Thanks for the heads up. What happened to your ankle?

I know what you mean. I cant wait to try it too. Sounds real good. I am always open to trying new things. And their menu seems reasonable.

Yep, the sushi is tedious. When I do it sometimes, I skip the seaweed but it still takes a lot of time. Much easier to buy it @ Whole Foods. Harris Teeter has decent sushi, too but it's so much better & oh, so fresh @ Whole Foods. Do you have the bamboo mat to help roll it?

blankity blank blank

You're right about the trial run on the food. I've made stuffed pork chops for years then decided to "change" my recipe & invited some people over. They were awful. Literally so bad we could barely eat them. My dogs ended up eating some of them & they were even reluctant. HA!

***ROFLMAO and spitting water everywhere***

Whew that was funny! Nope, no one said anything or it would have had how many comment (irregardless of deletions)! I know she feels just precious! LOL

That is how mine come out I am afraid...anything I have to sit and count I get not so good results *LOL* To much always going on for me to sit and count stitches...and when i go back and try and count forget it *LOL* it still comes out like it is going into the trash bin *LOL*

Good Luck Sweetie!!! Off to Karate here in a bit...be back later

It's hilarious how they know who to sniff out & lie next to. What WOULD we do without them???

I'm over in Morrisville & retired. What part of Raleigh do you live in ? What did you do to your foot ( if I may ask)? oh, yes -- wanted to mention that my church is starting a craft time twice a month. We want to do crafts of anykind & help those who want to learn something new. Our church is really easy to get to , if you wanted to come and meet some truly wonderful ladies. I love to crochet and the ripple is one of the easiest one to do .-- will be glad to help any way I can.

oh, yes -- I'm sure Dexter enjoyed helping ! Tigger would have been in it all the way, too. That's why I get so much more done when I'm away from home . LOL

Actually , our next one is this Sat from 10am-2 pm . Its at the North Cary Baptist Church (exit 291 toward Cary). Most of us are crocheting , but some may be doing needlework ( cross stitch) & etc. I'm still working on a scarf , too. (actually gotten sort-of lazy since I retired ) Really sorry to hear about your foot. guess you have to keep it "up" ? My son drives an 18-wheeler and he fell on his ankle and broke it about a yr ago. Made himself drive with the pain ,as he has child-support & etc and couldn't afford to be off the road. Anyway, if I can help somehow -- let me know. I love crocheting . :>

"My magic eight ball says that you might as well just get her spayed now and figure out a name as she already found a good home.

She looks like a very sweet dog. Enjoy her! :)"

You are not helping! You sound like one of my wife's girlfriends!

Take care :)

Crochet....I can do a single chain ten miles long.....I can come back up the side of it, but after that.....it starts taking on the wadded tissue look, and I give up. Ihave learned to replace my sewing wants with dirt and flowers....it looks much better when I finish :)

gal, thanks for being responsible about the phone book issue. It is such a wasteful practice...hope your foot gets better.

Creation Craft Group: A new crafting/fellowship group will be meeting at the church every 2nd Friday and Last Saturday of each month from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We will start in February. Please bring a snack to share and any project you’d like to work on: knitting, sewing, crochet, quilting, scrapbooking, etc. There is plenty of room for sewing machines, etc. Don’t know a craft but want to learn? Bring some supplies and there is bound to be someone who can help you learn. Need more information? See Sue Perez or email her at sueperez73@gmail.com. ---- just thought I'd copy&paste this to let you know you're more than welcome to join us. If there's some way I could pick you up so you wouldn't have to drive -- let me know . my email's : anitathebaptist@hotmail.com ( and, if you can't stay as long -- that's ok ,too )

now that's a funny story

awesome -- didn't realize what all you can learn from UTube. (did find an old boyfriend's son teaching how to play the violin !) too cool! we only had a few ladies Sat , but I think it was because a lot of our ladies were with the Awana group. Anyway, we have a great time . Two were working on scrapbooking and others were needleworking or crocheting. email me and i'll give you my phone # and if I can help you -- just let me know.

The Neomonde Baking Company is awesome! I have been a frequent guest for years and during one visit I was given a complimenty pound of colorful Jordan almonds. These are a perfect garnish for an Easter buffet (fast approaching). They are great folks who offfer a consistently delicious array of food embraced by an easy and pleasant atmoshphere. Neomonde is a win/win destination and I am delighted to learn that it is a favorite!

"I shall live in my fantasy that he does not get on kitchen counters when I'm not around."

LOL. Works for me. I'm just not a cat person. ;^)

LOLOL! I would pay to see a cat chased by a goose. once we went to feed the ducks at Eastgate Park, when my son was little. Along with the ducks came along a family of geese, and my son loved feeding them his Cheese-its. When the bag was empty, one of the geese demanded more, so Michael just shook the bag to show her. Well, the goose couldn't care less - she wanted more and nobody would convince her that there weren't any more snacks in the bag. She went up to my son and pecked at the bag, and then at his hand. He freaked out and started running, and so did the goose. It was the funniest think to watch - a little boy running like heck away from the pond, and the goose burning the road after him. I still smile when I think of it. :D

LOL! Poor kid. :D I see you love cats too - they are so sweet. We just adopted a kitten and he has already captured the hearts of everyone at home. Well, maybe not everyone...our other cat would probably like to have him kidnapped by terrorists and taken to a foreign country.

Not yet! We have a couple visiting this weekend to see her.

Good day -- just stopping in to wish you a blessed weekend. Hope you're staying dry and warm . How is your ankle ? Hope everything is going well -- If you ever need to chat -- always here. God bless you -- :>

nothing wrong with just being lazy -- I'm learning to do it quite well. LOL Just curious -- do you work or are you retired ? I'm retired and I "luv" it !!! I know you're glad to have finished your afghan and that they love it so much. Good to hear you're improving . nothin' like feeling better physically . Have a warm and blessed weekend. :>

BTW -- the best part of the day is -- snuggling with my beloved , beautiful CAT -- Tigger !!! The very best cat that I've ever known !

Thanks so much for the link to that Ghost Whisperer episode! It was one of the best ones ever!

If I end up missing another show because of this stupid basketball I will definitely leave a message on your profile.

And you're right, that is what ESPN is for. I am a huge sports fan but I hate basketball. I love football, hockey and baseball. In that order, lol.

Thanks again!

Hello there Crocus...and thanks for the response....

You can call my cell at (919) 228 0173, or you can email me @ nics_auto_service@earthlink.net.

I live a strange schedule, so the email is the best starting point....

I look forwarding to helping however I can....

I don't know why anyone allows Gandie's messages to stay in their blogs. It's so obvious G is only there to cause trouble and detract from the message of an otherwise good blog.

I went and told G off at their profile; I expect them to do the same to mine.

Just one of those folks that likes to rile folks up.

But I do think that Angela expects us to take care of things like that on our blogs by hitting the [Delete] button for anyone who misbehaves. Too bad ryoung didn't, cause his testimony was wonderful.

God bless.
