about crocus

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world"
-Mahatma Gandhi

Hey guys/gals.  This is just an FYI.  I am going through my friends list.  I'm going to be pretty ruthless about it as I am going to be switching to friends only soon.

Don't take it the wrong way if I remove you.  In the past, I've  typically accepted all friends requests.  However, this means that if I want to post things friends only it is pretty much pointless as I have all kinds of folks on my list.

I'm going to go through my friends list and remove anyone that I haven't spoken with recently or who I really don't have that much in common with.   There are a group of folks on here that love the drama and go poking around other people's profiles looking for it.   And truthfully, if I think that your friends are crazy or one of the drama hounds, I'm probably going to remove you unless we are really tight.

As I said, it isn't personal so much as I am tired of all the cattiness in here and am going to restrict my GOLO profile and feel this is a good way to do it.

 Best regards,

Thanks Belladonnadoll! I am feeling a lot better each day. But as I'm just compulsively clumsy, I just don't see me getting around easily on crutches. As it is, now the cat isn't scared of them anymore, so now when I get up he is a big road block between me and the coffee pot. He could have a full dish of food, but he still has to herd me to the dish every morning just in case.

AAAH what server do you play on!? I am Alliance...but I don't like PvE anyhow. Odd since I play a rogue xD

Yes, it is remarkably refreshing to find another WoWer on Golo!

I know, me too!! They are great people with no children other than their other 2 dogs. I hand-picked them from 15 "applicants". (:

Thanks for your support.

LOL! I was just reading your reply to Bella, too funny. My cat has to herd me too. Looks like after he gets stepped on a blue dozen times, he's move out of harms way!!!

Welcome to GOLO, and thank you for the friend request. My name is Stella. I saw a post about you being on crutches. OUCH ! Hope it's mending nicely and you'll be off them soon. I'm not coordinated enough to be on crutches for very long...Good Grief!!

Have a great monday, and a better week...

I am! But I am still getting caught up on Season 3, so don't tell anything!

Siamese are just the neatest cats! And yes, I can tell you've been owned by one. Tobi gets beat up and chased by my 2 12 yr old cats so he's bonded w/ my 2 dogs and sleeps and plays with them all the time. Pretty funny to watch really. He's an awesome, sweet boy at 7 months and so much fun to watch.

Just love the lynx point Siamese or look-alike as the case may be ....

The expression is priceless.

BTW, I have four Siamese and three “others”, one of whom is my avatar ....

STS

Crocus,

Check out http://catoftheday.com/

Go to "previous cats", then look for April 13, 2003.

That was Isis. She lived to be 26, quite a respectable age for a Torte Point Siamese. Losing her was like losing a member of the family.

My oldest now is Creamy, my avatar, who is about 13 and is VERY feisty ....

Also, just for giggles, check out:

Len (aka STS)

Have a wonderful Thursday

I also have a neighbor, retired HP, the best kind of neighbor in the world. He keeps track of sheet here. He is actually paid by the HOA. I try to stay on his good side.

Yes, I love Crossroads. They have been my vet for 10 years or so. Very compassionate and caring...I've never had a problem getting help from them. I remember seeing a sign (I think it was before they remodeled) that they do their best to keep animal care affordable, so that people will take care of their animals and I like that. I drive from Clayton to get my vet care because I refuse to change vets. I also like the fact that most of the techs are students at NC State's Vet school and I think they have a great exchange of information with the school.

There are other episodes to come. Terry was the kind of guy that had no enemies whatsoever. Booster thinks something was done to the car to cause that wreck.

I usually keep the reader in suspense. Forgive me. More will surely come before the day is out. I need to write it.

All this stuff is fiction and no one exists.

Our trainer suggested we use vinegar with the pup too. again, we would spray it, and he would lap it up. Too funny.

thnax so much for your kinds words and any help you can offer, as we try not to go nuts trying to find Joker!

"My friend feeds the raccoons in her neighborhood cat or dog food. (depends what she can get on sale) Apparently they aren't that picky. :D"

They certainly don't seem to be! There were lots of them around where I grew up and were always great company as long as nobody tried to get cuddly with them.

Hello!!!!

:D :D :D :D

Hope you have a great week!!!!

I'm a huge X Men fan. I like some science fiction, if I can follow it and it has an explainable story line. Some of it is WAY out there. But I like X Men and I hope it continues. I cried when she asked Wolverine to kill her and he did. But I'm a softie anyway

I couldn't get into Battlestar but I am a huge Stargate Fan, more so the original than Atlantis but I like Atlantis, too. I like Dr. Who, too. The original and the new series. I like Underworld, Blade, most anything vampire. I love to read and read all across the genre's. I love Dexter, nothing I like any better than to see him give it to the ones that deserve it but the law lets slide. Wonder what that says about my personality???

I don't have HBO but I do like Charlaine Harris, she's funny.

aww, man, and I was gonna look tonight. Wonder if netflix has 'em

yeah i heard.

makes me sad :(

BUT each dr has his own charm. We came into watch dr who with david tennat, then hubby got the chris eccleston ones off netflix. the first one with him, I didn't like, but by the time we made it through all of his, I did like him.

so, theres hope for the next.

sorry if im riddled with typos. im still crying about a dead baby someone blogged about.

thanks so much for your offer and words of comfort...I'm still looking and plan to post a blog about some of the resources available to help find a lost pet...I run a new ad on craigslist every other day with a photo...WRAL has a lost and found section, too. Neighbors are helping me look...trying to stay positive, and not give up. His ad in the Fuquay paper won't come out until next week (grrrr....) but it's already in the other papers...N&O, Angier Indy, etc... going to go through the other TV stations, radio stations and see what they offer. I've gotten my ad translated into Spanish, so I'll put Spanish flyers out, too! Every day, I try to think of something else I haven't done...

I have a 2 year old, and on the rare occasions he decides to tell me he loves me (he speaks ewok make up language for the most part) my heart melts.

He was throwing a fit for a pop (what he calls a lolipop) the other day, then changed strategies and said 'pop please?' - he had never said please before, and yes, he got the stupid pop....lol

I guess I"m glad I don't understand, because if I did, then maybe it would mean I was capable if such monstrous acts. Don't get me wrong- I get frustrated and tired and lose my patience...but the thought of HURTING either one of my kids (Even on their WORST day) is nauseating!!!!!!

Cool story on Legends! If it could only last 2 hours - better sooner than later! I love to go dancing and Legends can be fun! On the right nights!

Love Harold and Maude BTW!

I had some chocolate chip cookies in the house. It helped. But sure wish I had a piece of GOdiva chocolate Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Glad you have such kind neighbors to take care of you.

Cheesecake Factory = great food.

LOL she's not cool enough to be a goth!

Nope, no luck with rescues for the pit girl. She's still with the man that found her for now.

Thanks for the invite. I was so surprised cause I thought we already were friends. Blessed to be so now.

God bless.

Rev. RB

LOL, I was kidding. I think they'd have to be squirting Nermal with the water gun for her to attack them. Otherwise, she would most likely watch with detached amusement as they walked out with all my stuff, then go wake me up afterward.

LOL Mouscicles

I've never heard of Bright Palace, but we might have to check them out. We don't go out to eat too often but we LOVE Sweet Tomatoes. Usually we go to restaurants that have some veg options, mainly Italian, Mexican, Asian, and Indian. There are a lot of completely vegetarian indian places that are very good, and VERY spicy.

crocus i was just reviewing my profile and remembered the kind words you sent to me after I had my beloved Angel put to sleep. I don't know if I ever thanked you because so much has happened but i'd like to take the time to thank you now. Your words mean a lot. I still miss her and in the mornings when I used to go straight to her and fuss a little about her wet bed (but not really mad just telling her she should have waited for me) I sit down and have a good cry.... I know I will miss her forever but I hope I don't mourn her forever. Do you still mourn your cat? Have a great day!!!

Executive Editor Money Morning/The Money Map Report

Prices for food in U.S. grocery stores jumped 6.6% last year - the biggest spike since 1980 - underscoring yet again that inflation is a much bigger problem than government officials, or most economists, say it will be.

Of all food categories, prices for cereal and baked goods hit U.S. consumers the hardest, zooming 11.7% in 2008 over 2007. Prices for meats, poultry, fish and eggs gained 5.1%. Fruits and vegetable rose 3.4%, while dairy products advanced 2.7%.

It was the second straight year U.S. consumers were forced to pay a lot more for their groceries. In 2007, food prices at supermarkets rose 5.6%. Prices rose only 1.4% in 2006.

Consumers had to pay the price last year because food makers battled the largest spike in commodities they’ve ever faced, walloped by duel increases in key food ingredients and fuel, which all marched to historic highs in July, a month in which crude oil peaked at an all-time record of more than $1

Place called mondaymorning.com good stuff on there.I am going to be getting the food safe 5 gallon buckets to store staples. Not that I think the world is coming to a end or anything.I just want to pay off debt and be able to be as self sufficent as possiable.I am spending only as needed and putting a huge garden in.

We have a old house in the country on two acres. We are expanding our garden this year.I am buying 150 strawberry plants.I am in the process of plotting it all out.I am getting 18 Raspberry's as well.I am thinking 45 tomato plants.I started canning last season.Much to my dismay I learned that 45 lbs of tomatoes makes about 15 pints of spaghetti sauce.I also learned zucchini is prolific to say the least!I ould love to have chickens someday as well. Have a good one.

Oh if only I would have known! I have I promise 50 quart bags in my freezer.I am dehydrating one bag now to see what it will look like.I am going to dehydrate all that I have except the shreds.I am making bread with that!

Time to dance tonight! Thinking about going.

ROFLMAO - I did not even catch that, just choked myself laughing!!!!

buzzz :)

Hi Ya There. How ya bez? Uhm...

I don't mind at all about the picture. We used to have squirrels try to open the back door looking for food.

My squirrels come constantly so I think I'd be happy if they could just come in. They slam their bodies against the door to get my attention so that I will feed them. If I don't get right up they slam harder into the door then look at me like HELLO I'm hungry. If I throw out something they don't like they just stare at me until I find something they like. We have one right now I call Picky But because it never wants the same thing twice.

You knit? Kewl! When I worked at UNCP, my boss gave me a huge huge afghan. Then a few years ago where I work now, my ex-boss gave me a smaller one that was so nice. It has the color blue in it that matches my living room curtains....nice. I have them layered on couch and throws on the recliners.

I can only imagine how thrilled your neighbor will be to receive the scarf. You so nice...

Ouch! Broke your ankle? A friend of mine broke hers...she didn't go back to get the screws out until much later and you could see them protruding through the skin...Yikes!

I hope you are getting around ok...BTW: Emailed that tidbit to that person. He isn't on too often so we'll see whether the answer is posted to you here or by email...I'm curious too. :p

I was so high that I fell asleep on the grass before NiN came on, and they are who I stayed all day to see!! (1991)

Hey! Habanero Mango sauce is killer. A wine shop sells hot sauces close to where I work. If you wanna venture, there is a wing place in Knightdale, across the road from IHOP. They have Habanero Mango wings . . . All I know is I ate there the night before I left and the day I left. It was plenty ugly what happen on I 40 around Burlington . . .

chock it up to being young and stupid ( even though now I am old and stupid) NiN came on, it was dark and all we could see is the smoke machine cranking out smoke. We could hear the band but we could not see them. I think I liked best Siouxsie and the Banshees, Fishbone and In Living Colour ( they were crankin' it!).

Ah, I miss my 20's....

Habanero Ice Cream? There is a joke in there somewhere, I just know it!!
