about hokie 94
I am a retired school administrator. I obtained my doctorate in school administration from Virginia Tech in 94. Blood, sweat, tears, and divorce. But, it was worth it all. GO HOKIES!
I truly believe that if we had more love in this world; then, we could do great things for all people. I have read books and articles about most of the greatest philosophers of all-time during my college and university days. I still read about them today. These philosophers, and their thoughts have something to say about love, living, forgiving, health, wealth, friendship, nurturing, sin, and how this world will live and die.
The stuff that they have written is so true today. Just look at the state our our Country and the World today; my friends.
There are too many people today that spend too much time concentrating on materialistic things. We are trying to have too much without teaching values of the younger generation.
Just work on trying to have better health and more friends. If you have a child; then raise the child. Don't expect somone else or the schools to do your job.
It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their rear when necessary, and learn to say NO!!!!
I'm a music lover. Music makes me feel good, sad, and it brings me to the past and sometimes makes me humble. It affects my mood. It makes me remember people in my life; both past and present. Music is the greatest language of the world.
VOTE. If you don't vote, then you have no right to criticize anything pertaining to the democratic process.
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND TO THE REPUBLIC, FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.
Everyday; I think this: Health, Happiness, Success, and Wealth. Wealth does not always equate to money. Having good health is worth more than all the money in the world.
I now reside in Moore County, NC. A great place to live.

I'm still a State fan. But the team blows. They've been a huge disappointment this year. Admitting the truth doesn't make me any less of a fan, just an honest one. :(

If you were going to my neck of the woods, I would say you have to go to The Strand in Galveston. It looks like it did in the early 1800's and offers quaint little shops for shopping. Another favorite is the boardwalk in Kemah, lots of great restuarants and live bands to listen to while strolling.
