The image above? I've entitled: A Politician's Promises
HOCKEY PLAY OFFS! AND THE CANES ARE THERE! WOOOOOOOOO WOOO WOOOOOOOOOOO
"Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs" - unknown
"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me." ~Carol Burnett
It is not the business of government to make men virtuous or religious, or to preserve the fool from the consequences of his own folly. Government should be repressive no further than is necessary to secure liberty by protecting the equal rights of each from aggression on the part of others, and the moment governmental prohibitions extend beyond this line they are in danger of defeating the very ends they are intended to serve. – Henry George
The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all, it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality. – H L. Mencken
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. - Winston Churchill
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm. - Winston Churchill
If you’re young and not a liberal, you haven’t got a heart. But if you’re old and not conservative, you haven’t got a brain! - allegedly Winton Churchill (though has been challenged Churchill actually said this)
Where is a UFO when you need one.....
Tidbit is actually a real nickname I earned because I have a plethera of worthless knowledge that means exactly squat. One of my co workers gave it to me when she would randomly walk by my desk and ask me silly questions to see if I had the answer and / or knew where she could find it. I also collect strange books of useless facts like "Do Fish Drink Water".
I'm very passionate about my political beliefs, but I always try to be open about other people's views. If I'm not, I'll never learn or grow or improve my own argument (evil grin).
I am a woman.. I get testy.. get over it. Sometimes I actually do bite... my bark sucks so I have to do something to make up for it.
I'm always looking for a challenge, but considering I've been wealthy (or my family was) and came from a place where most people knew my family's last name, became homeless because of my own stupidity, and had a HOST of experiences from that and then worked my own way out of my situation, I've gained an interesting perspective. It's not better or more important than anyone else's, but it is unique.
Respect my opinions and beliefs and I'll respect yours. Remember, until you've walked in the road of the situation you are discussing, do you really have an honest and true perspective? Do you really have all sides or input?
And I do respect everyone's opinion whether I agree with it or not. The only pet peeve I have is when people won't actually THINK about things.
For example - if you are for Universal Health Care I'd like you to answer these following questions:
- What will be the actual changes wanted to be made?
- What will be the necessary requirements to get these changes in place
- Who will be impacted by the requirements (what groups- persons)
- What are the potential long term impacts on those specific groups
- What are the expected benefits?
- How can the benefits be achieved
- What are the potential pit falls
- Do the pitfalls balance the benefits
- Is the program(s) sustainable longterm
Once you answer these questions, sit back and THEN decide if you think "Universal Government Controlled" health care is the right answer for this country. When I do this, nothing Clinton or Obama have put forth seem to actually benefit anyone except government
If you just answer the positives and ignore the negatives - you are only thinking emotionally and selfishly. It's it not just about YOU. The entire country is affected by your actions.

He built that from scratch, it's a computer that we built just over a year ago ;-)
He also built his workshop from the ground up!

Yup, that was the most unusual computer I've built so far, dryice built the casing and I designed the rest of it ;-)

If you haven't yet filed your return and have to pay taxes this year, simply fill out the direct deposit information anyway, and your stimulus check (assuming you receive one) will be direct deposited.
If you've already filed and didn't fill out the direct deposit portion of the return, your check (assuming you receive one) will be mailed to you.

Your assumption that I actually disrespected these people to their face must to of struck a nerve with you! I never said anything out of the way to these employees.
My point being, I expect the service I pay for & if the place of business is open for business, I expect the services that they advertise to be available If you didn't approve of my rant, you didn't have to read it, much less, comment on it.
Who's retarded now??

Being a retired long distance truck driver, I would say I have the 'cahones'. A few years ago, I probably would have told these people what I was thinking. But I don't get off on hurting other peoples feelings, but I never sugar coat truth either. I just want what I pay for & I do expect a business to do what they advertise. If that makes me an a hole, so be it.
After reading your profile, you have no room to call me disrespectful although I say that with no ill intent. Lessons learned are lessons earned.
And why would it bother you for me to mention someone being grossly overweight, unless you are in that class?
People need to get over themselves with being offended. We're living in a world with a bunch of babies. If people can't handle the truth, they need to stay home.

Research concluded that funds were withdrawn from my account via my ATM card in which I was the sole holder, from the local branch. When I produced receipts of me being out of state at the time, (Company credit cards, log book, etc.), they informed me that it didn't prove anything & they had made no mistake. My company did back me, but in the end, I was out of a months pay.
I told them they had a thief on board & I would no longer do any more business with them. I thought of taking them to court, but they had more time & resources than I did.
And that was pretty much the end of it. I learned a few things from that experience.

Even with all of this proof, they insisted my card was used at that particular location & withdrew $200.00 on each event, in which that was the max you could draw in 1 24 hour period.
So, in my mind, someone who had access to the accounts, munipulated my card numbers & stole my money.

The difference, however, is that I'm commenting on people's stories and debating the topics that come up. She was taking a view of "look at these dang liberals desecrating the flag, because they don't care about america, while we conservatives save the nation fighting for freedom in Iraq." And that's just not true. There are many very patriotic liberals and non-patriotic conservatives. But, she does blog after blog of "liberals bad - conservatives good." Usually with no real evidence behind them. I prefer to discuss the facts behind thing. I have found that if I quote MSM, I usually don't get through with most of the people I debate, but they don't question if it's a story from FOX.
