about tidbit

The image above? I've entitled: A Politician's Promises

HOCKEY PLAY OFFS! AND THE CANES ARE THERE!  WOOOOOOOOO WOOO WOOOOOOOOOOO

"Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs" - unknown

"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me." ~Carol Burnett

It is not the business of government to make men virtuous or religious, or to preserve the fool from the consequences of his own folly. Government should be repressive no further than is necessary to secure liberty by protecting the equal rights of each from aggression on the part of others, and the moment governmental prohibitions extend beyond this line they are in danger of defeating the very ends they are intended to serve. – Henry George

The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all, it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality. – H L. Mencken

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. - Winston Churchill

Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm. - Winston Churchill

If you’re young and not a liberal, you haven’t got a heart.But if you’re old and not conservative, you haven’t got a brain! - allegedly Winton Churchill (though has been challenged Churchill actually said this)

Where is a UFO when you need one.....

Tidbit is actually a real nickname I earned because I have a plethera of worthless knowledge that means exactly squat. One of my co workers gave it to me when she would randomly walk by my desk and ask me silly questions to see if I had the answer and / or knew where she could find it. I also collect strange books of useless facts like "Do Fish Drink Water".

I'm very passionate about my political beliefs, but I always try to be open about other people's views. If I'm not, I'll never learn or grow or improve my own argument (evil grin).

I am a woman.. I get testy.. get over it. Sometimes I actually do bite... my bark sucks so I have to do something to make up for it.

I'm always looking for a challenge, but considering I've been wealthy (or my family was) and came from a place where most people knew my family's last name, became homeless because of my own stupidity, and had a HOST of experiences from that and then worked my own way out of my situation, I've gained an interesting perspective. It's not better or more important than anyone else's, but it is unique.

Respect my opinions and beliefs and I'll respect yours. Remember, until you've walked in the road of the situation you are discussing, do you really have an honest and true perspective? Do you really have all sides or input?

And I do respect everyone's opinion whether I agree with it or not.  The only pet peeve I have is when people won't actually THINK about things.

For example - if you are for Universal Health Care I'd like you to answer these following questions:

  • What will be the actual changes wanted to be made?
  • What will be the necessary requirements to get these changes in place
  • Who will be impacted by the requirements (what groups- persons)
  • What are the potential long term impacts on those specific groups
  • What are the expected benefits?
  • How can the benefits be achieved
  • What are the potential pit falls
  • Do the pitfalls balance the benefits
  • Is the program(s) sustainable longterm

Once you answer these questions, sit back and THEN decide if you think "Universal Government Controlled" health care is the right answer for this country.  When I do this, nothing Clinton or Obama have put forth seem to actually benefit anyone except government

If you just answer the positives and ignore the negatives - you are only thinking emotionally and selfishly. It's it not just about YOU. The entire country is affected by your actions.

we were friends in my previous golo life, perhaps again. Thanks for your doggie blog...it really rocks, and means a lot to us canine critters...btw, this message is from my dawg!

tid wow is easier than eq ive heard. ONLY thing about eq near the end of my playing was the fact that some of the higher spells could only be gotten off mob bosses and a druid alone can NOT take down a mob boss who is level 80, it was hard, people wanted to group then argue over who got the spells EVEN if they werent a druid, they wanted to sell so finally I stopped grouping and just started farming to try and save the plat to buy them, I never could

youre kidding on the auto pilot right >? whats the point ?lol

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend......

"I had a rough childhood and made poor choices in my life for the most part because of the thought process I developed during that rough time."

I can CERTAINLY identify with THAT statment! ROF! So few words, but says so much!

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Beth

Btw, I started out my weigh loss journey at 467lbs. I'm not afraid to say it. I'm proud of my accomplishments.

Your story is truly inspriational! Keep up the good work!!!

"My bed sheets never got changed any of the times I was there, though I was sweating like a fiend with a bad fever and infection in my incision site."

I had no idea you were so sick. I am so sorry!!

That ghost tour sounds fun! It is in Raleigh?

Read your blog and I know a wonderful photographer that does that. I don't know how much he charges. He's a highschool friend of my ex's and he's done my daughter's prom and wedding photo's and they are wonderful! He prefers outdoor photography.

His name is escaping me at the moment though. So, if you are interested, let me know and I'll get it for you.

Just as a price point, he did my daughter's wedding...allll day, two photgraphers...$1000. I know that is more than you are wanting but it was a lot more work and he made no other money because he provided her with the cd's of pictures.

My personal e-mail is kitcat718@aol.com. Just shoot me an e-mail if you'd like the photographer's info.

First, how was the ghost tour? I thought about you guys Saturday night--I looked outside and it was raining. :( Hopefully it was still fun. :)

Secondly you might want to check with Jules about photography. http://www.wral.com/golo/profile/1966056/ I feel like I remember that she took Sandra's pictures. (but I could be wrong--memory not what it used to be) LOL

Tidbit...Congrats on your weight loss. :) I saw your blog, and wanted to let you know that my friend and I are both on weight watchers and are losing slowly but surely. I am a photographer and have done her pictures for her, as well as portraits of her family. Email me at julie@wall2wallphotos.com if you would like my web address, where my portfolio is online, or are interested in having them done. I use green screen, too, now, so the background choices are amazing. :)

I sent you the info.

Sqeek - You can do it!! It's taken me 2 years and 3 months... and I'm not done yet. If your interested I can tell you what I've done. NO fad diet here....

Oh yes, please do. I know full well that what's going to make stop the yo-yo thing is to totally change my relationship with food. Boy, that's going to be a toughie. Which is where I get the thoughts about burning my tastebuds off,,,I eat solely for taste and the warm-fuzzy feeling.

Thanks for the friend request! :) I am really excited to hear of your loss. :) We take pride in being losers in my circle of friends, LOL... :)

hey there. i emailed you at the address you left on my profile, but the email bounced. did you make a typo? if not, have you got another email address i can send to?

/* giggle */

/* bump stumble bump */

/* giggle */

/* knock, knock, knock */

Trick or treat!

i just read your blog from 10.29 about the body image thing. it IS very weird. advice: breathe deeply when you feel it.. the disparity.. practice anxiety reducing techniques like breathing deeply, being aware of surroundings ("grounding" and "mindfullness").. great workbook is "The Anxiety and Stress Workbook" by Eric Bourne. it has cognitive-behavioral techniques for avoiding feelings of anxiety. (blessings)

Good morning! Your post truly inspired me, and led me to write a post myself. Since I can only guess at what you went through during the weight loss program, please correct me if I am wrong. http://www.wral.com/golo/blogpost/6335107/#commentform Thank you so much, and keep up the awesome work!

Good afternoon! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog. I hope it is okay with you that I wrote about your ordeal. You are such an inspiration for others that I figured many would get a little spark toward lighting the flame of their own resolve through it. :-)

Tidbit, I wanted to congratulate you on your unbelievable weight loss accomplishment. Your self-discipline must be incredibly strong.

A while back I invented/constructed a piece of exercise equipment so I sometimes am asked to talk to people about exercise.

I don't know where you are located but wanted to let you know that Daniel from the show "The Biggest Loser" lives in Raleigh and he like you has lost about 240lbs but hasn't had the surgery yet. WRAL should do a story on both of you.

Once again I congratulate you. Best of luck in all your future endeavors.

When self image is scarred so early on, it is a long process to heal. In time you will come to see the beautiful woman that's been desperately trying to hide so she would not be abused. You ARE an inspiration to others, you are certainly an inspiration to me. :-)

Hey,haven't talked to you in a very long time.How are you doing.I stil like your profile picture :)

It would appear that Angela found a way to get rid of me at the behest of her close personal friend (I'm sure that needs no further explanation to be clear.) This place really has become Animal Farm ...

Hey,good to hear from you and that you are doing well.I didn't know what had happened to you and by accident found you here.I'm doing good have had some issues but doing better now.What will you be studying in school to do ? We can never have enough education.Wishing you a good day.

I put this in the blog but wnated to put this here,since I gotta get busy,,I don't understand it all. It confuses me. (btw, I'm very glad you're doing well now)

and Tidbit, that's what I don't understand. People get different stories. It should be the same. I have an "acquaintance" (won't call her friend) that is attending college, receiving health care for herself and child, childcare for her child, food stamps, and a monthly check,,,,all from the county.

What makes her different? How can she receive but someone else can not?

not a problem. I got busy as well. Had to actually wake kids up from nap (ugh) cause I had 2 mom's picking up early for appointments then I had class last night. And had a busy morning today with colors and turkeys and singing and reading.

I enjoy what I do.

I don't know the answer either, it's sad, is what it is. Those that need it can't get it and those that need to get off their rear's, won't
