I know you are not dumb. All of these are for the mother's convenience.

If the birth control failed, then one of these women had an abortion to delay motherhood further, one could also argue that she was merely correcting a situation created by FAILURE of BC. meh_whatever

the 1% who get pregnant after taking proper b/c properly should have the opportunity. But are you aware that recent medical research is showing that the fetus can feel the pain at 26 weeks. Where are you people's conscience. If you get pregnant and don't want it it shouldn't take 6 months to figure that out.

Next time I join a fantasy league, I will have to get out of GOLO and pay attention to the draft. You're killing me... and Adrian Peterson is NOT helping. Just adding insult to injury. LOL Congrats........ btw, I have another team that is winning really big, so I guess it evens out. Would rather have beat you though... LOL

I can live live with 20, but a 30 point blowout???????

Fluck Adrian Peterson. With a splintery brookstick.

My opponent in my other league played Brady, had Farve on the bench. I beat him about 35 points. lol

it's all good...... Take care.

Not that my estimation of you means much, but you've got a good head on your shoulders. Let me rephrase that......... I ain't got no use for fools from either side of the aisle, and you are not a fool. There, that sound better to me, anyway.

Niters.

Was just thinking about a blog from earlier today... *wink*

For the same reasons, I make a lousy drinker. That kinda sux. ;-P

LoL! Anesthesia is like that with me too! Even when put under I tend to wake up too soon.

Probably has to do with my /seemingly/ bullet-proof liver... ;-P *knock on wood*

If I don't assume they're slackers, then I have to assume that our nation's colleges are graduating hordes of idiots. (Out of their English programs, anyway)--meh_whatever

I don't mean to jump in the middle of your discussion with Steve, but I'm dealing with this problem too. I've come to the conclusion that most English degrees are constructed with an over abundance of weight on Chaucer and not enough on composition. And it isn't confined to English majors - the written work of engineering and economic students is horrendous. I don't even want to think about chemistry majors.

Good job. Very good job

"I'm right more often than you're willing to admit. But that's okay... you're right more often than I'm willing to admit, so we're even.

;)"

Oh yeah? well...uhhmm...My avatar can beat up your avatar...so there....

You don't know the power of the Dark Side (heavy meachanically assisted breathing sounds)

"If I ran across tmedlin's type in public, I'd likely wind up telling her off."

It's the absolute obsession and blind rage that really get me about that one.

"I'm just guessing here, but something tells me Steve would take this as a compliment."

I was taught that if I couldn't say something nice about somebody... :-)

ROFLMAO! Let me go find it! LOL

who said it?

The comments are your latest blog amaze me. Anything bad about Obama is 100% accurate in their minds; anything that hints of incorrect behavior on the Republican side--well, the Democrats are grasping for straws.

The mass firings are documented and the discussion to ban was brought up at a meeting. She now says that she was just asking a rhetorical question.

So my burka comments must've hit a nerve - my first block. How mature!

Hello. I'm so far behind the curve, I don't under Carolina's burka reference. LOL

How are ya?

I can't spell either..... I'm getting dyslexic on the keyboard or something. I meant, don't understand.......

*sigh* I swear some of these folks are tapping the "bell curve" on the left side! ;-) Problem is, they get to cast a vote too don't they?

You crack me up with how you deal with some of these folks and their posts.

Well, I could google it, or you could draw me a picture. Dyslexic, ya know?

I know, I know, how DARE I expect maturity. What on earth was I thinking?

Re: the burka, I've always figured they were kinda like the sheets we wore as kids on Halloween...you just kinda toss it over your head and go. What a great cure for bad hair days! LOL!

okay.... you mean that funeral shroud? LOL

Gotcha..... although I didn't see the comment.

No burka for ME. I wanna see your face.

"Well hawk, don't we all sit around saying, 'So... what would it take to ban Tom Sawyer, I wonder?'"

I've taught language arts and social studies for 21 years. I have yet to find a positive historical figure who banned books. How can people LOVE America but forget the basic principle: freedom of speech? Oy!

BTW -- the first bulletin board that I ever created dealt with the top 20 banned books. The librarian said she couldn't have coaxed a kid to read "The Good Earth" or "Of Mice and Men," but those books flew off the shelf after that board. :-)

LAWD, she is too dayum old to be carrying on like that! I am too, but we aren't talking about me...LOL!

Hey, how are ya?? I did read that blog, even before I saw you had posted it!! To tell you the truth, I think that woman is just either jealous or maybe she is really one of the 20% of Alaskans that do not like Sarah. They are out there. She does sound like she lives in Wasilla and most of that stuff might have a modicum of truth about it. That said, it still does nothing to change my mind. I really wish she would stop with the same lines that we have heard since she "arrived" on the national scene, but I know the Repubs. are a bit uneasy with her as well. I would MUCH rather hear her talking about personal freedoms, and other things she has accomplished than spouting the Repub. lines all the time. She comes home tomorrow to Fairbanks and I am sure it will be covered nationally, so it might be interesting to watch. The Dems have said they are going to protest, but it could just turn into a huge fistfight...as us Alaskans will do sometimes!! Have a super night!!

Oh...she gets here in the afternoon, which is evening to ya'll. We are four hours earlier than you guys. The party is supposed to start at 4:30 AST, which is 8:30 PM EST. Like I said, it might just turn into a huge fistfight with the Dems probably taking a resounding whooping!! LOL There is a bar next door so several will probably get a snoot full before they go, it should be quite a show!!

"It's a trip, innit?"

Yes, but sometimes, reaching your destination at the end of that trip makes it all worthwhile, dunnit?

Our relationship with our oil money is a pretty unique situation. In 1976, when it was obvious that there was going to be substantial oil revenues, the Gov. Jay Hammond created the Permanent Fund. It was as he said money for current and future Alaskans for a rainy day. When it started in only had a couple of billion dollars in it. He also said that there would be a dividend paid off of it. Each Alaskan would get 50 dollars for each year they had been here since statehood. There was a couple in Anchorage, lawyers, that opposed that. They said it discreminated against "new" Alaskans. Jay had a "stop-gap" measure, each Alaskan that had been here for 6 months got 1,000 dollars. I collected that dividend in 82, when it came out. The next years...it was much less, like 330, 350, 450, etc. You can read about it on their website. It is called the Alaskan Permanent Fund. It now has almost 40 billion in it. That money is our "savings" account and takes at least a 2/3 vote of the

citizens of AK for the legislators to touch it. Now-a-days, it is sacred. No politician would invoke using it for anything such as running state govt. Now, with oil so high....for every month oil sells for over 120 a barrel, Alaska makes an ADDITIONAL EXTRA 650 million A MONTH!!! With 600,000 people (the pop. of AK) that works out to 1037 a month extra per Alaskan!! Our state budget is in the black 6-7 billion THIS YEAR ....AFTER the budget. The 1200 that Sarah is giving out in addition to the dividend check is, to me, paltry. I think it should have been more like 5K, but as long as it goes into the Fund, I am OK with that. Well, that is pretty much it in a nutshell. The PFD check this year is going to be 2100 for every man, woman and child that qualifies, plus the 1200 for each of us. Total for 3300.00 and change. Sorry this drug on for such a lengthy explanation, but now you know pretty much the whole story!!

Good thing we don't live over there in the middle east,

Of course, some jihad idjit surfing the internet for a little clandestine porn might see my comment and send a hit man/woman after me. Probably some cute woman faking a broken down car right in front of my house, knowing full well mrkagain will ride to the rescue. As soon as I lift the bonnet and touch the loose coil wire, kaboom!!!

Good Morning. Lose the burka. Get an umbrella. Rain today.

You're too funny.

Okay...... you have my interest. So I've been snooping and I found this...

mccain thinks she will bring in the vote...she will alienate more than she brings in. Esp when she starts opening her mouth. strolling bones August 31, 2008 2:24 p.m. Report abuse

Although she's pretty much gone from GOLO, I keep in touch with Strolling....... I'll have to ask her about this. LOL

I am not getting into political blogs today - too much stress for my old ticker...... but I do watch with interest.

I could be totally wrong, but I think people are underestimating Palin, the way some did Condi.... we'll see.

The churches teach the creationism end of things. And if a child is unchurched, I don't see that it makes any difference. I do wish, however, that teachers would say that evolution is a theory that has some significant scientific support, but nevertheless is still, just a theory.

Cool burka.

We've been officially kicked off of Tmed's blog.

I'm so azz hurt.

Not. ;0P

I do have to laugh, Meh.

I didn't insult her or do anything like that. I quite simply stated the obvious... if she doesn't want liberals/democrats/progressives posting on her blogs, why doesn't she make them private?

I'm still of the belief that she really, really likes to stir the pot - and it is far more *interesting* for her to make her posts public. I mean, how much fun is it to make a private post and have ONLY her buddies comment? The grovelling of supporters WOULD probably get old - and it's just SO much more fun to insult everyone who doesn't agree with you!!

Well, at least we're in gaol together... HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Slate certainly works for me!!

How about a lovely blue for the walls???

Oh, and I love your new picture. Wondering where I can get some bling bling like THAT!??!!

Heeheehee...

Love the new profile pic.

LOLOL! I just posted on jbunny's blog that y'all did a fine job peeing in tmed's cornflakes today. Sorry I missed the fireworks!

omg... 20 Mbps... :x

Droolin'! OMG! LoL! And to think, earlier today I was thinking 20 would be a stretch, even 18. LoL!

I visited Arlington the following April (in 2002). From certain places along the paths, you could see a clear shot to the side of the Pentagon they were rebuilding. That, combined with the Kennedy graves, the Changing of the Guard ceremony, all the hills of white markers as far as you could see... a very moving day, even for a group of teenagers.

LoL! Really the only thing I've noticed is that my browser hadn't been crashing as much... LoL... (could be only a fluke)

I doubt my equipment could maintain a connection speed that high, but it's interesting to log the spikes in throughput. ;-)

Story about Arlington: we had a tour guide with us that day we visited, and while the Changing of the Guard ceremony was taking place, the new guard walked up and was undergoing inspection. Well, while checking out his weaponry, he knocked a medal off of his uniform. When that happened, we knew we were witnessing a rare event -- the tour guide got extremely excited, her eyes were bulging, then she turned to us and said, "I have never seen this happen before in all my years being here." The new guard was not allowed to take over the guard duties, but instead had to go back inside. If I'm not mistaken, he came out a few minutes later and they performed the routine again, but this time he "passed inspection" and the ceremony continued as usual. Had the tour guide not been with us, I'm sure we would have never realized how rare it was. It was quite an event, especially as it was my first and only time of visiting Arlington. I do want to go back one day, it was a wonderful place. - javajoe

Seems like there was a documentary on PBS several years ago about life as a guard. It was a very interesting show, they explained all the ins and outs of everything behind the scenes. - javajoe

Roll Tide, huh? Hee Hee. My first online "friend" *wink wink* was a Crimson Bama Babe living in Columbus, GA.

Oh, yeah...... just stopped by to say hello, and have a good day.

Hey...... you surprised me..... you didn't answer my question on your blog. After stomping me half to death on the gridiron last week, I figure you owe me that. ; )

I'll read through again..... ttyl. Have a good evening....

I miss Carolina. She challenges me, and doesn't even know it. Now you, you'd know it.

Hmmmmm....... I may be wrong about her not knowing it, but even so, I like to have to THINK a little bit in conversation. Not a sparring match, just crisp, right, intelligent conversation. Not much of that around here sometimes.

okay.... saw the answer you gave... I am often open, but only if the different idea is presented calmly, with no obvious rancor, as a differing opinion. Loud, rude, preachy..... nope. I usually don't change my basic convictions, but I can try to see another's perspective, recognize the validity of it from their point of view. Part civilly. And then go vote the way I was going to anyway. I think it may be called, "getting along."

"I think that when people stop reflecting on their actions, their beliefs... that's when they stop growing as human beings."

I think of that as being honest with yourself. Being objective. Not many reflect at all, and very, very few can step outside themselves, and take a hard look. I think anyone can do that, but simply won't. They're afraid of what they might see.

Niters.
