I certainly agree - I find race to be the most meaningless of all human traits.
And the only thing new about the "lying basterds" now of days is that they seem to be proud of it - or maybe they just don't care we know they're lying...

Obama is just a typical statist - he believes (completely) that government can and should solve ALL problems - especially the problems that government creates so government will have problems to solve.
Tyranny does not always look like it's portrayed in movies.

So, and I swear to god I'm not being a smartass, how do you square free thinking with what I saw of your cheerleading of Obama and the democrat party. Don't get me wrong I'm a square peg in the round holes that are our two party system and only marginally despise one more than the other (hint: it's the one who calls themselves "liberal" when I can't find one thing they are liberal about) but the one thing that rankles me more than anything is a "party line".
And McCain was a colossal tool. Agree with you there. Palin however, I never "got" the villification. She always struck me as a sharp lady (maybe a little green for a national campaign) but I thought the fervor and force of the campaign to discredit her was stupefying. She wasn't a "play by the rules" republican so she didn't have that establishment to back her up, she came from Alaska so the elites on both sides in DC, LA and NYC chewed her up,

I saw where you said you grew up around here. So did I. We're about the same age as well. Crocus and you and I probably tramped around the same ground at the Brewery or Barry's II back in the day ;-)

Nope. Wrong. Send them back, and force them to come back through the FRONT door. We don't want to encourage more illegal immigration by rewarding those that did it.
It is a long, difficult process to get "legal" through the normal, legal channels. Where's the incentive to knock when kicking the door down works better?

Contrast that with illegals that CHOSE to come here illegally. No one brought them here, kept them here for generations, and then tried to send them back to their country of origin.
There's a very big difference between sending illegals home and sending emancipated slaves home. Huge. There is no comparison between the two whatsoever.

That's why we don't round them up. We pass federal laws against HIRING illegals. When the job market dries up, they return home on their own. It would be very easy to do this. Politicians just don't want to do it. I think both sides are secretly hoping that one day, illegals will vote for them for having supported them.
We could even set aside some federal money to assist the now jobless illegals in getting back home, wherever home is. Or at least we could give them a time line of one year. They can keep working up to a year illegally, but then they're on their own. That would give them time to get word of this change.

Makes a helluva good political tool though...
I was making a post about AG Holder and his "discussion about race" when that blog disapeared.
I'm ready any time, any place to TRUTHFULLY, FRANKLY, & CANDIDLY speak about race (especailly how it is meaningless in and of itself -aside from possible medical situations) and how it is used as a "wedge issue".

The second boy says, "That's nothing. My Dad writes all day too! He scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls his a SONG, they give him $100!"
The third boy says, "I got you both beat. My Dad also writes all day. He scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls his writings SERMONS. He reads them in church, and it takes EIGHT MEN to collect all the money!!!"

Because in the reality of the world EVERYTHING is political - and the "democrat" remark is satirical based on the only people defending the child raper are the democrats typical leftist base out in Hiollywood and by extension folks who say it's no big deal since the "victim" has gotten over it.
If he had killed her and her mother said it's no big deal now and she didn't want Polanksi to go to jail, would that be a defense against his crime?
Of course one might say her rape isn't the same as a killing, but you know this crime had to kill something inside her mind.
Polanski needs to pat for violating the laws of the land - regardless of how many "liberals" think it's "no big deal".
He committed a rape on a drugged 13 year old girl - he has no paid his debt to the law of the land. If he is not punished, how soon will it be before we hear of the "Polanski defense" in court for another child rapist?

Not all "liberals" are democrats just like not all republicans are "conservatives".

Clearly, to you, they do not."
What matters to me is immaterial.
What matters is THE LAW - and her (the victim's) wishes do not matter either.
This is about the STATE punishing a violator of the laws intended to protect us from crime. It is nothing more than a matter of punishing a man for breaking the law - regardless what the victim thinks.
Same applies in cases of stautory rape - it's called "rape" because the law considered the "victim" to be un-able to consent do to their young age - there are many cases where men have been prosecuted under the statutory provisions even thought he case was well documented to show the "victim's" willing participation.
How the victims feels or what the victim thinks is irrelevent.
Polanski needs to go to jail regardless of what ANYONE "feels" about him - including his victim.

I vab certainly swee that struggle - I thinkthe best thing to tell the kids would be something like
- "mommy is going to court to see that a bad man who hurt me when I was a kid goes to jail - it will help keep bad things from happenung to you too."
Tough all around no doubt...
