Most of the time, conversations like that turn to ugly name calling and complete disrespect for others beliefs and opinions... Thank you for a least engaging me without all of the negative stuff.
You did have a good point about being "covered either way"....A bit risky??? but, a good point. see, I was listening too. :O)

I was actually at a funeral this afternoon and pondering the same things you were questioning . It was the first one I ever had to attend as an adult. And the only one I've been to where I knew the man who died. (My only other remembered experience was when I was a teen and a friend of my parents passed.)
What I found I enjoyed about the experience was the stories about his life. Some were funny and some were inspiring (in a non-religious way). There was some religious aspect to the service, but as others said on your blog, I think that was for the attendees, not the departed.
I think that is what I will make known as my wishes. Don't speak about seeing me again or anything like that. I want my friends and family to just spend some time remembering some good stories and drinking beer. (And a couple to sneak off behind the building and smoke a joint!)
Anyway, thanks again, the timing of your post was perfect for me!
