The money was borrowed from China to provide us with those stimulus checks. LOL I think I'd rather have had it printed out of thin air! LOL

I thought, according to your post at the bottom of the story, that you were indicating that the people on the scene with time not so much on their side that they should have been able to, or expected to calculate all risks to the tasered individual.
I see more clearly from your post to me that you share the view that the force could have been appropiate but there are options.
Bottom line, without trying to put words in your mouth, the outcome was unfortunate and could have been handled differently.
I agree. Where I come from 3 or 4 of my peers could have brought down almost anybody or anything. Sometimes a good 'ole tussle will solve the problem. Furher, just because technology has given us tasers and the like, they are not always necessary and certainly not the only option.
Have a good evening and Thank You.

Grant, you are obviously intelligent and well educated. I would not begin to wrangle with you regarding electromotive force, joules, ventricular fibrillation and the likes thereof.
However, if we could bring this discussion back to earth, I would submit the following comment and question.
I know at this point everythng is iffy (is that a word - ah, no matter) and unlike you, I have no science to backup anything, but I am curious.
What would you do if you were the one called to a scene whereby an individual is exhibiting abnormal behavior and possibly juiced to a state of hyper strength due to drugs or something unknown to you at that point in time?
Please keep in mind when answering that the responsibility of the outcome is squarely on your shoulders and you have a split second to make a decision (no time to research) that would determine the safety of yourself and some unknown amount of other individuals.
Thanks
The
