The OPEC oil producing countries have been laughing all the way to the bank for years now and Congress has complained about the OPEC countries for just as long.
"The Christians had a better chance against the lions than the American consumer has against the OPEC cartel," said Rep. Ed Markey, (D) Mass.
Markey made that complaint four years ago when two dollars a gallon gas seemed high. With prices now doubled, the House passed the NOPEC Bill this week, authorizing the government to sue OPEC for conspiring to restrict supplies or drive up prices.
"OPEC, the oil producing economies - they set the price. That should be illegal," said Sen. Hillary Clinton, Democratic presidential candidate.
Meantime, here in the Northwest, many are planning ahead for the Memorial Day weekend, normally a chance to relax and prepare for summer and now
