about revd
Think people THINK! BTW, the Rev is because I am an ordained minister. I try to base any comments I make on what the word of God says about any situation, person, or group of people. I am not perfect in my interpretations, but I attempt to apply the Word and the eternally consistent message it brings. The profile image I chose is what the Word does to man's opinions, politics, or anything else it encounters.

I have complete sympathy for your views of compassion. And no not all government is "bad"...but ours is not operating as it was intended by our Founding Fathers and that makes all th difference is the world.
What we as a society want is never inthe state's interest and the states interest is never in ours. Look at what the Old Testament prophets told Israel whent hey insisted on having a king like other nations. They were told that the king would take their money and send their sons to war - and he was right. Look at their history. yes we are to render unto Ceaser that which is Ceaser's - our lives and our health and our property are not Ceasers. Coercion is not compassion.

I cannot deny the spritual aspects of man and be true to my self and my life experience. I have great respect for people of faith and live with a certain faith myself.
It is my firm belief that God intends man to be free and the ideals of equality under the law comes from the Judeo-Christian ethic that we are equals in the eyes of God.
The Founders said that the Constitution only works for moral men.
Do you think, that as whole, this nation is still a moral nation?
