About my avatar...what is it?
- Is it the first flag of the United States?
- Is it the trading flag of the East India Trading Company?
Well, it's both! The East India Trading Company had the monopoly on almost all overseas trade with Britain, including tea which was unceremoniously dumped into Boston Harbor in 1773. This version of the flag was used from 1707 to 1801.
This flag is identical to the first flag of the US, known as the Continental Flag or Grand Union Flag. This flag didn't have any official status but is generally considered to be the first national flag.
So there you have it - our first flag was shamelessy stolen from the company that traded the tea that paid such a key role in our history! Whether that indicates lack of imagination or a deliberate case of rubbing it in, who knows.

I guess sometimes people need more person-hauling space, but gah... does every woman who owns a minivan have like, 5 kids?
No. They have 2... or maybe 3... which will fit just fine into a car, or if they insist, a compact SUV or crossover.
Oh hell, they can get a Mazda 5. It's a minivan, but it ain't huge.
