Macs Rule, PCs drool!

I'm a Mac user too!

Thanks for the welcome to golo ;-) I truly was not trying to be disrespectful in the post you responded to. I think what Eve had accomplished in 22 years is astounding. I also try to do the best I can in mentoring young people. I would have loved for my own two daughters to have heard about Eve and see/hear first hand from someone near their age that they can make a difference. Because you know.. teenagers think that moms don't know squat and they respond better to someone closer to their age. Thats all I was trying to get across when I said that they could have used her as a role model.

BTW funny mask on your pic. and I guess you are right if age comes before beauty. LOL

Again thanks for the welcome.:-)

Good afternoon, funny pic..it did scare me a little. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Have an awesome evening. Be sure to bundle up, it is a cold one outside.

Oh, where are my manners. WELCOME to GOLO!

that picture...scared me...LOL

the game is going pretty good so far...:) Here's hoping!

Did you see the article on WRAL about the Apaches? Those are the models my son works on will now be working on the Delta models. (what he was actually trained on in AIT) Just thought that was a cool article. Paul will deploy Feb 09, so please keep him (and me) in your prayers!

If you've never seen a house moved, it's an incredible sight. Who is doing the move? I've heard that KB Bunn and Sons do great work. Our mover was Richard McCrary and personally, I think that man walks on water! I know one that couldn't pay ME to allow him to move a house. But I won't name names in that fashion.

How big is the house? Will it be moved in one piece or will it have to be cut?

We were lucky I guess. We didn't have to move power lines. But we made the conscious decision to cut the house in half b/c we had a hard time getting Progress Energy to assist us with determining the line movement needs and details.

Glad to e-meet you. Let me know how the house move goes!!!

Have a safe and Happy New Year!!!

I have witnessed the helicopter being completely reassembled in a day! It is amazing, and to think they learn all that in 19 weeks! (Granted, they are 10-12 hour days and 6 days a week, but he learned!) I hope he can get a civilian job such as your BIL once he graduates college. And I too hope he stays stateside....I would much rather him be deployed to a disaster relief site, but I know he signed up to go where they send him and protect this country. As a mama, that's hard to swallow. That's a wild pic you have there on your profile, how did you do that?

I wanted to respond to your comment about cost of horses vs. dogs. I will have to say that if you have a decent grazing pasture, horses are less expensive after the initial purchase. An annual vet visit w/vaccines for 4 horses runs us approx. $200. An annual vet visit for our lab is $200. When horses get sick, the vet bill is generally reasonable. Owners learn to give meds themselves (shots of penicillin). The only consistent "maintenance" bill is for farrier, which runs us $25/horse every 6-8 weeks.
