Angel: While we were on vacation, I picked up a book at Anna Ruby Falls. It is "The Foxfire Book of Appalachian Cookery" and when I was reading it, I thought of you. The 16th chapter is "Pickles, Relish, Jams and Jellies" and there are so many recipes in there (some I remembered only after reading them again!). I know you love to experiment, so naturally you came to mind. It was only $21.95 so I believe it is a really good buy. (P.S. Had some of my momma's old cooking in it....her name is not on the recipes, but this is her way of cooking!) Justa thought.

Angel: Sorry....I did not share...but certainly not because I wouldn't have packed you in my luggage. (smile) We had our 7th wedding anniversary and went to Helen, Georgia. Took in Unicoi State Park, Anna Ruby Falls, Brassbald Mountain, and Smithgall Woods. It was so relaxing...and boy, did we need it. Sounds like you are still cranking out the canned goods and I am totally with you on the pickles. I love Icicle Pickles and Watermelon Pickles (which of course are not pickles...just pickled! LOL) Anyway, you can find the book at any bookstore or on line. Happy Canning!

Hey Sweetie,surehave missed talking to you as I have not been on here much in the last few days.Have spent most of the day with mom.ONE DAY i think she is geting better and the next she seems to be worse.Thank you for asking about her.I'm so glad I have my son and his wife to help me out as I found out to day I'm not able to do all that I want to do for her as I'm going to have to it easy.God has blessed me with a son and daughter in law to go way and beyond the cal of duty.You are a sweet heart.Hope you and your family are doing good.LYMI (((((Hugs)))) to a wonderful friend.

Oh, Creemooor. People drive like nuts everywhere. LOLOLOL. Some whacko almost ran me off the road yesterday because I was not going fast enough. i was doing about 50 in 45 and there are police all around that road so I was not going to go any faster!

What a wonderful day of football! My son's team won (mini-mite) and moved into first place-playoffs next week. Then watched Tennessee beat UGA with my Father-in-law (big Dawg fan). Tennessee looked like a complete team for the first time in years. What a great day. I hope yours is as well, Headlong!

Hey,has been a busy day and week as fr as that goes for me.Going to see mom every day and getting all mmy work done here at home like laundry and other things.Hubby not feeling good and you know how men can be when they don't feel good lol.Today woulld have been a good day for a good pot of soup,would have loved that but like you fixed something else.Maybe soup tomorrow.You are just the best friend.LYMI ((((((Hugs)))))))

I'm glad she's "on the mend". My doc said that they would get a replacement ACL from a cadaver...I've also talked to a friend who had part of her leg muscle turned into an ACL. It's amazing what they do now-a-days. I'm able to walk/limp pretty well without crutches, but the cartilage tear is hurting worse than the ACL, so sometimes I use a single crutch to keep the pressure off my meniscus.

I figure that I'll be off my feet for at least a week..I'll be able to GOLO then..LOL

I was only expecting to be back at work in a week...with crutches or a cane. Me?? Run? LOL..I'm one of those couch potatoes! One of my coworkers told me that it only took her about a week to get back to work... Not the doc...I haven't discussed my surgery with the doc yet. I had a liver spot that needed to be looked at before I could concentrate on the knee. I had a CT Scan on the liver Tuesday...I got a call from the doctor yesterday (while waiting in Philadelphia airport) that my liver was clean...whew!

I use to have a black lab and I know what you are talkig about with shedding hair.I think I did more cleaning behind that dog than any one else n the family lol.I have a big nough yard for a dog but with mom being sick and being so busy with her and other things would just be to much.My cat is a hand full need o cary him to the vet he doesn't seem to b feeling well.I can tell that youare doing better by getting on with your busy life lol.You are precious.LYMI.
