I sure hope your hands are feeling better today Lynda. My ex, who lives in Carthage now, is from Spencerport, and you are right, even Alaska for the most part holds no comparison to the "lake effect" that you guys grew up with. The foot we got last night is the most we have had at one time in several years. It can snow HUGE up here, but once a year...maybe once in a couple or few years is all we ever see that happen. We get 4 or 5 inches quite often...but mostly we get 1/2 inch or an inch at a time. I wish for all those Tarheels that LOVE to see snow and are ALWAYS getting disappointed, that they could get a good dumping once in a while. Have a super day and talk to you soon. :-)

Hey, Lynda!! I guess I don't look too bad for an old guy!! LOL Have missed you. I don't know if I would have the surgery either for carpel tunnel. I am chicken, too!! Did you see my image gallery with Buster's relatives? His sister Cali, his nephew Ira, his nieces Bayleigh, Grey and Lucky? They are so NOT spoiled...they only think they are!! Our average snowfall is around 70 inches a year. But we have snow on the ground from the last week in Sep until the end of April and sometimes the end of May!! Our snow is usually VERY dry. Sometimes it is so dry you can have 2 or 3 inches on your car and go up and blow on one side of the windshield and it blows it off all the way across it!!! Most of our winter is spent within 15 degrees either side of zero, but we can have LONG spells of VERY COLD weather. Like a month of 50 below. That is also rare anymore, but we still can easily have 40 below for a month or longer. The last couple of years, it has been warm and this year, incredibly warm. We have only had 3 days below 40 below and no days more than 45 below. If it stays like this we will be overrun with people wanting to live here...LOL We need about 3 weeks of 60+ below zero to weed out the riff-raff...LOL have a good one Lynda!!

I always said if I lived to be a 100, I hope I would look like 50...whatever 50 looks like!! Thanks for the compliment...it makes an 'old' guy feel young!! LOL These pics are very current! None of my cats are a year old yet, but they look older than they are!! Buster and Cali will be 1 on March 23 and the others will be 1 on April 16. Some of us look our age and some of us do NOT!! LOL

I promised God many decades ago that if He would let me keep my hair, that if it turned gray, I would not color it. He kept his promise, I kept mine. Life is good when one doesn't look their age...no plastic surgery here, if my looks head south, well, they is where they will be. Plastic surgery is NOT what it is cracked up to be. My aunt had a face-lift and well it fell and it has not been a year yet. A lot of money for no good results. She still hurts and it has affected her hearing. I am glad that I am not vain. Costs too much!!! LOL

My post sounded depressing huh? I am ok. I just wish no one would ever have to be in pain. I know what you are going thru. Tho not with the hands. It irriates my shoulder and back staying on the ole puter too long.

Doing good here Lyndy. Wow, sorry about the wrist thing. I know that's a painful ailiment from some of my co-workers. Hopefully you're in for some relief. Seems like everything hurts worse this time of the year. Be good and stay in out of the damp.

Hey Lynddsy! Missed your smiling face on here! I have battled carpal tunnel for 25 years or so. Sometimes, when I way overdo it, a great big knot pops up on my elbow and then I get unhappy for a couple of weeks because I can't do anything. The pain is horrific! Have you tried steriod injections? They really worked for me, unfortunately, I've had enough and can't take anymore. I also use a brace - doesn't help much.

I started to take a pic of the time and temp sign at Walgreen's this afternoon ~~~~~~~~~~ 3:16, 66 degrees ~~~~~~~~~~ but decided that would be cruel! Its gonna get cold this weekend though and I'm going to think I'm back in Fuquay! Take care!

I'm like you, I have seen a plenty of snow. It would hurt my feelings at all if I never saw another flake. And with you from the Great Lake's area, I know you second that! Those lake's throw off some mean storms! I know, because I have been in them before! Give me sunshine & 75 degrees & I'll show you a happy man!!!!!

Oh no, honey, like your little profile pic says, "who says I have to be normal?" I have a really monster case of CP (along with "tennis elbow")and it goes all the way up through my right shoulder. My elbow, wrist and hand are also affected, and my fingers swell really bad when I overdo it. The shoulder pain is much worse than the elbow or wrist pain. I couldn't have the surgery --- I was a journalist and had to write so I learned how not to abuse my arm, along with taking a truckload of naproxin. In the beginning, I tried to do more with my left arm but that also started being affected so I quickly left that idea alone. I had cortisone injections, first in the palm of my hand and then later into the elbow. For about a year afterwards, I could do anything I wanted to do with my arm/hand. But when the year was up, watch out! These days, even though I don't write much anymore, I try not to use the computer for long lengths of time.

Do you have the wrist/fingers brace?

Just saw your other post. We had about half an inch of snow six years ago. It was soooooo funny --- people couldn't walk and were sliding all over the place, even their dogs were sliding around! It was beautiful when it hit the sand but only lasted a few minutes. I wish I could see snow again ...
