With all of the complaining that goes on here (some of you honestly seem incapable of doing anything else BUT complaining ...), GoLo has become depressing.
With the general trend towards the banal and inane, GoLo has become a waste of my time.
What is it about this place, which has so much promise of bringing people together to discuss ideas and learn from one another, that it brings out the worst in people instead?
You'll forgive me if I take my leave of it.

You'll get no argument from me that illegal immigration is a pressing problem for the United States. There are plenty of sound reasons to criticize the federal government for doing little or nothing to stem the tide of Latinos crossing our southern borders. However ... There's always been an intolerant, nativist and and even racist undertone on the part of many critics. At last weekend's anti-illegal immigrant rally in Hazleton -- a town that like much of NE PA deeply needs newcomers to refresh its aging population -- the editor of the local Spanish-language newspaper was verbally attacked by members of the crowd. The editor, Amilcar Arroyo, was told to "go home" and "get out of the country."
Problem: Arroyo is an American citizen.
This is the central flaw in ordinances laws like the one in Hazleton that feed suspicion based simply on ethnicity.

We'll see what happens. I hope that Angela will do the right thing, but if necessary, I'll be discussing it with Jim in the near future. This character assassination of hers will stop, even if it means the entire thing has to be shut down in order to accomplish it.

It sounds like she doesn't want you posting on her blogs. Why bother her if she doesn't want you there? Unless you just want to bother her...

Absolutely. But I've seen some of her personal blogs where she kept deleting someone's posts and complaining that she didn't want them in her blogs. Not sure if that was you or not, though.

I guess I don't get the whole "offensive" thing. I see blogs that I know won't last because *somebody* will get offended and report it. I'm just not one of those people. I figure live and let live. What offends me (if anything) is people that delete posts because it is an opinion they disagree with, not because it violates any WRAL rules.

I wouldn't call that offensive, though. But it takes a lot to offend me. Not even sure it's possible! :)

Yeah, that's a little ironic. Unless you are the only one she deleted from her blog, which would make it a personal vendetta against you, and not quite the same as deborah. That deborah, on the other hand, deleted at least 15 posts, and only about 3-4 of those were mine. Everybody was complaining about her. She seemed to be deleting ANY and EVERY body that disagreed with her.
