With all of the complaining that goes on here (some of you honestly seem incapable of doing anything else BUT complaining ...), GoLo has become depressing.
With the general trend towards the banal and inane, GoLo has become a waste of my time.
What is it about this place, which has so much promise of bringing people together to discuss ideas and learn from one another, that it brings out the worst in people instead?

Perhaps someone did go back over all your posts at once and sought and found objection. You could set all old blogs on private or friends only, then by controlling your friends, you control access. This is really a bit much to suffer, though. When you find the facts, tell us all. My advice to anyone avoiding stress is to stop watching the news, but only read it, going to the tube for pixs only as needed. NPR, I found, raised my blood pressure, so I've tried to stop listening to it all the time.
There comes a time when a player takes the bench to relax, rest, and doesn't keep watching the game go on. As opposed to football and basketball, baseball replaces a player and that player is out of it for the rest of the game.
The concept of baseball is the greatest, trying to get home, the offense never touches the ball, ball fields vary, statistics & history rule, lots of down time to talk, easy to visualize on the radio, but still a team sport, unlike golf.

I saw your comment on djofraleigh’s profile; I follow your logic and I understand your sentiments.
I have thought the same thing, many times, myself.
While there are many folks that you just can’t help, there may be one or two out there that will actually take your meaning. If you change only one person’s life, that’s a good thing.
Often, it doesn’t take much to change someone – either for good or bad.
My personal case came when my doctor of many years, talking to me about being (almost) morbidly obese said, rather bluntly: “Look around. You’ll notice that you don’t see too many FAT, OLD people.”
That one comment ‘achieved penetration’ where many before had not. Definitely changed my life, it did.
Do stick around; Golo will benefit from the experience and wisdom ....

Funny story - we were riding down the road today and saw a license plate that read elcid3 - my mantoy is did his under-grad at Citadel and told me what that meant, is that you as well? He said it is also a literary character but wasn't spelled the same way.

He had a dealer in his home state transfer to a dealer here who transfered it to my wife. I was a bit shocked that she didn't have to have a permit because I had already been through the process to get my pistol.

Had he not, however - had he simply kept the money that was sent him - I do not see a crime in that. The key is in the interpretation of "rightfully his". If someone gives me money, I consider it "rightfully mine." Even if it's by mistake.

You know I really like you, but you can be a little obsessive about the abortion thing. It's quite a turnoff at times.
Thanks for the kindly, soft way you showed me your discomfort with some of my words. I had your words from a prior blog comment dismissing the value of an unwanted life in mind as I typed (abortion better than being unwanted). I answered you on the blog. I'm turned off myself daily by the number of abortions and the reasons for them, so I figure I'm on the losing side and have more reason to vent.
While you say obsessive, I feel like I restrain myself all the time.
Anyway, great to see you on list and doing well. You've been through a lot. I've had my two close friends have by-passes, one his second('93 then '96 & doing great) with a mechanical valve, the other awaiting a heart now (congestive). If you're going to have major disease, then the heart is best in this age.

Thank you....the amazing thing was that I only drew 4 unemployment checks. The new job doubled my income. We are very frugal and have a lot of fun watching the savings grow.
