With all of the complaining that goes on here (some of you honestly seem incapable of doing anything else BUT complaining ...), GoLo has become depressing.
With the general trend towards the banal and inane, GoLo has become a waste of my time.
What is it about this place, which has so much promise of bringing people together to discuss ideas and learn from one another, that it brings out the worst in people instead?
You'll forgive me if I take my leave of it.

and my response--in case it matters: YES, I am glad he's back as he generally posts very informative responses/blogs; ones that are well researched. He's one of the few on here that doesn't just talk but can back it up. Sorry you feel that way, but then there are many on golo who do not like those who disagree w/ them. Good debate on Golo is what it's for but too many get pizzy and take their toys home. If you feel strongly about what you believe then respond intelligently and factually-don't pout.
Not that you need defending but it got my back up, so to speak.

I can see how you would feel that way. Golo really is the Wild West - untamed. Angela has many duties other than monitoring Golo - so the trolls frolic. And Report Abuse does not mean much, if it is not acted on quickly - I agree.
But there have been some positive steps. Golo has stopped allowing the nasty pics. That seemed to calm down some of the gutter humor.
Much like the Wild West - having the good guys leave does not make the town better. I concede that there is little here to challenge you - there are not many who are you measure.
There is some good here. A dog that got tortured with a hot iron was rescued. Sandra Carrington Smith has yard sales, etc, to help others. There are some candles in the darkness.
If you walk away, at least come back and check in on us when you can. Maybe golo will be better and surprise you.
Anyway - dance at your friend's wedding!!!!! Every good marriage makes the world a better place.

I honestly believe my Step-monster has it, so does my Aunt. I can't kill her off, I like my life too much and wouldn't be able to enjoy the stuffing if I did since I'd be in jail.
So I have to wait patiently. I'm sure she'll be like my cat - annoy the fire out of me and keep living just to spite me

Thanks for getting back to me. I put up a blog when I didn't her from you and I was told she would not be allowed to sit in on the case. I knew you'd know the correct answer. I think she should since she made that judgment on her personal assessment of the tests instead of the actual discrimination suit itself.

Thank you again. I went to title VII last night and I got so lost reading all the legalities I knew I better stop. I see what you're saying now. I thought the case was based on something different. thanks again but I still think a underhanded way was done here to keep the white officers from their promotion. Seems the law is not going to allow any reverse discrimination cases on the books. I noticed she based this decision on a precedent case involving school tests being baised. If this case wasn't handled right and the tests weren't biased, then we have just denied the opportunity to put reverse discrimiantion on the books for future cases if needed, IMO.

Aside from the 'we're all God's children' idea, I don't claim the rabid to be kin...I suppose the specificity is too much for some, but my understanding (such as it is) goes to the idea of Christ superseding Mosaic Law. I have always understood the Old Testament to be historical reference for why there was the need for The Christ and the 'ultimate sacrifice' of God's own son.
I find it hard to fault that "following" but also find very few on that path.
A zealot is a zealot, regrdless of 'brand' and dangerous to all around them.
In my opinion a true follower of Christ cannot be a zealot.
And of course, it is merely my opinion.

I completely agree about GoLo. It seems to have gone the rest of the way towards becoming a kvetch and moan fest. I see little point in bothering with it any longer either. Spending one's days with a group of people who seem largely determined to complain about everything and be angry about everything is toxic to the soul. My remaining time on earth is better spent elsewhere.
