about oldrebel

Going down that long lonesome highway
Bound for the mountains and the plains
Sure ain't nothing here gonna tie me
And I got some friends I'd like to see
One of these days I'm gonna settle down
But till I do I won't be hanging round
Going down that long lonesome highway
Gonna live life my way

One of these days I'm gonna settle down
But till I do I won't be hanging round
Going down that long lonesome highway
Gonna live life my way
Yes I'm going down that long lonesome highway
Gonna live life my way

Long Lonesome Highway  \*/  Michael Parks  [Then Came Bronson theme song]

I got some of the small trees down. My wife dont think I should mess with the 65-80 ft tall trees by myself without someone there. We have houses around us and shes afraid the tops of the trees will hit there houses, or the tree will sway really hard when I am in it after cutting the tops off.

It sucks, But medical bills would be more expensive than paying someone professional.

I know someone that was a arborist for the most of his life and I want to see if he would help me out.

Thanks of the ac hint.

The same frinkin way you said, "why don't you go out and do Health Education or blah blah blah"!

You made an assumption about me, I made one about you...we are even!

Howdy!!!!! How ya doing? Hope you're having a good week so far! I sure do wish you could make the battleship on the 21st. You're a lot of fun and it won't be the same without you!

Take care! {{hugs}}

G'nite, OR. It was a great discussion. We'll have to do it again sometime. *smile*

Thank you for your kind and supportive words on my blog this morning. Part three will "air" tomorrow morning. LOL

Hello, hate to hear you will be working this weekend. I am a known hermit so these things are few and far between for me. Actually the BF and I have never done something like this. And I don't ride the bike... I ride on the back of the bike so I won't be going when he is overseas. I like your updated profile pic. You have a very kind face.

I know how to underline the words myself, the words I'm referring to are both in stories and blogs. They seem to be new today with an ad when you hover over them. Are you not seeing any of this?

home laptop with secure wireless and virus/spyware programs running. Will run now though. Thanks

OR- thanks for those ideas for the live chats! I like them all and will add them to my list. -Angela

Hi OldRebel

I know how you feel. I met my ex when I was 28. We got married when I was 33. Yes, I am ashamed to admit that we lived together before we got married. I had seen so many of my friends go through divorce. I really did not plan to get married. we got along pretty well. Two adults should be able to get along. I am not a jealous person. You cannot follow people around. People are going to do what they are going to do. Long story short. I had our son when I was 34 1/2. My ex worked for himself. So you know, it was all business related...He was always at Myrtle Beach, playing golf, out in bars dancing, and entertaining. He was never home. He was never a father except when it was for show. He left when our son was 10. Within 2 weeks, our son was in the hospital. It has been over 10 myears of He!! and poverty. Meanwhile, he is wealthy. He has married someon about 15 years younger and he has a 4 year old daughter. I know how you feel. Have a great weekend.

Yesterday was lovely. Today is supposed to be beautiful! I'll be spending the day at the new house, sanding and painting my staircase pickets, sanding the railing we took down and staining my front door - all outside. I may even take a few minutes to hop on my horse and ride bareback around the pasture.

AHHHH!!!! I love "spring" weather!!! Will you be taking your bike out for a nice ride on your days off?

Thanks for accepting the invitation to the group! I appreciate that a lot. You have been given editor rights and can blog away any time you feel like it!!!

Hey how are ya. I am doing good.

::hugs::

OldRebel, Nikon generally puts IR filters over their sensors.

I know, my D2X, D100 and D300 all have one.

If you *really* want to do this, go here:

http://photocamel.com/forum/nikon-forum/58248-nikon-d40-infrared-conversion-tutorial.html

It's not for the faint of heart.

OR, thanks for the reply. I did something similar to this with an old E995 before I went and bought some real IR film for an old dual-lens Rolleiflex I had laying around. You might get some good ideas:

http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/04/the-improved-diy-infrared-filter-for-stygian-photogs/

Problem is that the filters themselves can be VERY costly -- this is a pretty good price -- they are about $30 more at B&H: http://www.edmundoptics.com/onlinecatalog/displayproduct.cfm?productid=1493

LOL!

Reposting this..I replied to your comment, lol. *hugs*

Oh my, I am so sorry! I hope he recovers quickly and as pain-free as possible. I have wanted another motorcycle, but I am beginning to have second thoughts with all the friends I have that had wrecked or died while riding them. Had one friend who has had 7 Gold Wing's and wrecked every one of them. the last time a RV clipped him and threw him into a pond face down in the rain. Luckily, a passerby saw it and stopped to get him out. He was going to get another Gold Wing! We talked him out of it. Sending prayers for your friend and hope you have a better rest of the week. :)

Thanks Donald and wishing you the same. :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend OR. Please keep us posted on his status. -Angela

that's right...he DID snap a picture, didn't he...I'll have to chekc with him on that...

Donald, I am sorry for your friend's accident, and that were there to witness. I wish you all well.

Hey Donald. I am right behind you - leaving for work. Enjoy your day

I imagine your friend is going through an awful lot. But, on a lighter note, the pix of the bikes are gorgeous.

I don't recognize him. I am glad that he is going to be ok. How have you been?

Did you use your new camera on the motorcycle ride this weekend? Those pictures look awful good!

":) Your profile seems so like Ayn Rand. Have a good day tomorrow."

Thanks for bringing my attention to my negelcted profile.

I had a link up there at one time and I didn't realize it was gone, but that passage on my profile is directly from Anthem and that's where I got my screen name.

I shall remedy that situation right away.

Thanks, Bud...

Reb,

I have that recording about the snake handling church it's mp3 format. I can e-mail as an attachment if you like. Just let me know where to send it.

Your Welcome,

Thanks for the friend invite.

I see you live in Sanford. I live in the edge of Chatham county right on HWY 42. We're almost neighbors - in the 'country' sense of the word...

"I guess our m/c gtoup drove right by y'alls home then this past week on our ill-fated ride to Morrow Mountain."

We get down to Morrow ever now and again...except our bikes have peddles LOL.

err..PEDALS...need more coffee...

"I don't that I could ever hope to pedal all the way to the top of Morrow Mountain,"

So far it's F-150 to the top - mountain bike back down - my wife has a half-dozen titanium screws in her back so it just for fun - execise is too much like work.

Happy Birthday, Donald!

Many happy returns!

Terri

Poor Donnie. At least you were a good sport about it. I had one of those straws this weekend. It was kinda embarrasing to use. I made sure no one looked when I was sipping. LOL. The men at the party I was at this weekend had the "other" kinda straws. The least they could have done was give you one of those. It did kinda look like a heart. LOL

Happy Birthday, hope its a great one!

LOL! When I was growing up, one of my grandmothers had an old 'player piano'. The kind that you load a paper rolled song into. She had about 100 rolls. Each with a different song. As the roll turned, you could see the holes in it, that somehow let the piano know what notes to play, and the words to the song scrolled down the side. Anyway "I'm a good Ole Rebel" was one of the songs that she had. I would sit at that piano for hours and hours pretending like I was playing. If I could win the lottery today, that piano would be the first thing I'd buy. It still works. When my grandmother past, one of my uncles took it out of the house. Then he passed, and his wife gave it to some of her family. I could cry every time I think about it!! But that's how I knew that song.

Those pianos are so cool. I would give ANY amount of money to get my Grandmothers piano back. And money is exactly what it would take. That heffer gave it to some one in her family, who then said that if we wanted to have it back, then they would have to have it appraised, and let us know for how much. People like that make me sick. My uncles widow is the main one at fault. She knows that the piano should have stayed in our family. It's not worth feuding over, but what's right is right. She still comes to our family gatherings and eats, but I do not speak to her.

Happy Birthday!

Thanks, Donald! I wish you many, many more!

Oh! And happy riding... so cool!

Guess what my husband got me? A 1986 Mustang GT convertible. A classic in itself. That will be my Friday summer ride. Yessssss!

Happy Birtday, hope you have many more happy ones.

thanks. I thought so too. Studley took it.

You are welcome.Hope you had a Happy Birthday.

Now you know why I said that I wish I'd been saving my smoking money. :) I got that counter from quitnet.org and sometimes that was the only thing that kept me honest. I'd really, really want a cig, but the thought that I would have to reset that counter and start from scratch made me really think about it.

You're off to a great start! For me the first couple of weeks were the hardest. I had no clue for example that my car was capable of starting if I didn't light a cigarette, put the key in the ignition and depress the clutch . It was quite a shock! ;)

I know you LOVE the Dairy Bar and eat there often. I'm thinking of going tonight. Will you be there?

Oh my goodness...Happy belated birthday as well.

Sorry - just saw your post. The women with Bizzell are Gloria Lopez and Darla Miles - formerly of WRAL & ABC11 - shot it a couple of years ago
