November 14th will be a big day in Raleigh with 2 separate events:

First, starting at 11:00 at Halifax Mall in downtown Raleigh

March on Raleigh.  This event is being sponsored by Freedomworks, who also sponsored the March on DC on 9-12.  This will include a march, followed by the rally on Halifax Mall.

Second, at approx. 2:00

Rally Against Amnesty for Illegals

at Bicentennial Plaza which is between the museums on the block just north of the Capitol Grounds.  You'll be able to leave Halifax Mall, walk across the bridge around the General Assembly building and the rally will be across the street from the front of the General Assembly building between the museums.  This will last approx 2 hours.

So, make plans to attend both events.  This is part of taking our country back.

I can hardly believe that Obama is coming on Fox news now. After O'reilly, which ws a good interview, he is on FOX today taking question and answers. Another ploy to get away from CNN who is hurting him? They are the ones, imo, who brought negativity to Obama with their lies on the other party.

From all I gathered from bits and pieces you are exactly correct. In the beginning she thought the other candidate who was pushing for it was getting the money all from federal means and not earmark. Once in governorship she realized it was a earmark instead of federal means and she killed it. You will never convince people of this though so I am just tired of fighting on golo over it all. I don't people people care who wins as long as it's not mccaine. They can't possibly understand this economy package Obama's offering and agree it's best for the country. They won't even acknowledge that the illegals are draining the country of the advancements made in the economy under Bush. Lost cause. I prefer someone who will stay the course even when it's unpopular if it's for the good of the country because as Americans we should consider the country over our own needs. This country has become full of selfish people.

in nov 2005, congress removed the earmarks from the bill that provided the federal highway funds to alaska. however, alaska still got all of the money, with a small amount still earmarked, as indicated above, and the remainder to be used by for highway projects at alaska's discretion.

palin continued campaigning for both bridges to nowhere through her gubernatorial campaign in 2006 and while governor until she stopped supporting the gravina island bridge in sept 2007 (this is when she supposedly told congress "no thank you"). however, she still supports (although that support is waning) the knik arm bridge, which is currently being constructed by federal highway funds (the nonearmarked funds). our tax dollars are still paying for one of these bridges. as i mentioned in my blog, so far, over a $100 million in federal highway funds has been state appropriated to the knik arm bridge.

I just got back from filling the Jeep up with gas...$80. The guy was on the phone at the local gas station and he was saying gas had gone up 19 cents a gallon since he opened this morning and they hadn't had a delivery in three days. He estimated they would be out of gas by this afternoon if not sooner. Yikes!

Morning T, I hope you had a nice vacation. I dont know what to think. I am so disguisted over what the national campaign and the R's have done to our Governor. She has allowed it to happen, and that makes me even more upset. You know, I have told EVERYONE that she is her own woman, and, as such, she has taken on the R's, the D's, big oil, all corruption and done almost everything as Alaskans wanted to see it done. T, she is starting to lose support here. I dont know how else to put it. She was/is a libertarian....the things she has been saying since being picked are absolutely R. I was a registered R for many, many years, but have not been for over 25 yrs now, but I am not very happy with her. I still support her, because I have known her and how she operated, but she has changed IMHO. The R's are trying so hard to appeal to the far right, religious right, that they will go to any extreme it seems. Also, have you noticed, she has not been alone since she was up here. hmmm

Hey T, She holds those views that she talks about...abortion, corruption, fighting big oil, and I agree with her on those. But I KNOW that she also knows that hers is but ONE opinion, and she has always been to "live and let live". She is an Alaskan, and as such, she has libertarian views on the drug issues, huge on personal freedoms, and other libertarian views. It seems that the Repubs have stiffled her voice on any of those issues, and she only has been allowed to spout the party lines at speeches. I understand that she must do some of that, but she is not one (or at least in the past she has not been) to have people tell her what to say and how to act. I know she is not in the number 1 position, and as such, she has to go along with McCains platform, but I would just as soon that she came back here, and took care of Alaska. I hope that she could do even more for us in DC, but am starting to doubt that the establishment will allow that. Hope you are having a great day!!

Yep, you are right T. I just dont know what to think. I KNOW I do not want Obama, but I also am having doubts about McCain. I still want Ron Paul in the worse kind of way, but I am not so naive to think that he has a chance. Americans seem more and more like "sheeple" to me the longer I live.

Foreign nationals (which includes students from overseas) use Tax Identification Numbers issued by the IRS. They're designed to facilitate both paying taxes and doing banking. Up until a year or so ago, they were also perfectly valid identification numbers to use in getting a driver's license in NC.
