about lightfoot3
About me
I don’t lie, and I despise hypocrisy. I’m very patriotic and believe in following the Constitution. I live by the Golden Rule of treating others as I would want them to treat me.
While I was born and raised as a Christian, I’ve seen the light and realize religion is a farce. While there are some exceptions, most so-called Christians I’ve encountered are hypocrites and frauds. That seems especially true on GOLO. I do not believe that Vishnu, Amon-Ra, Poseidon, Thor, Jehovah, or any of the THOUSANDS of other gods are real. They are all man-made, nothing more than fictional spooks in the sky. Prayer doesn’t work. Bottom line is that there is no God. Sorry.
By the way, I’m pro-gun, pro-military, pro-Constitution, pro-death penalty, pro-democracy, and pro-“nuking” any country’s tail that messes with the United States of America. I’m slightly left of center with my political views, mostly because of my support of the United States Constitution and the related civil/human rights. I vote for both Democrats and Republicans.
I’m a firearm enthusiast. Use to hunt in my youth, but no longer have a desire for it. I do my hunting at Food Lion. I still like shooting. I ride motorcycles. I’ve been riding over 20 years. I drive a ski boat. While I do fish every now and then, I practice catch and release. Nothing wrong with keeping fish, I’m just too lazy to clean them. Did enough of that in my youth. I like to stargaze. I know how to fly an airplane. Once in a blue moon I dabble in poetry. I like to camp. Well basically, I like nature. I love sitting on a high mountain ridge while birds of prey float on the thermals about me.
NOTE for those requesting to be friends: I REALLY appreciate the “friend” requests. I’m not thumbing my nose at you by not accepting. I just don’t like those kind of features. I prefer a totally open forum. Besides, I get a kick out of having “no confirmed friends”. :)
However, I have been considering it...

You've been considering accepting friends on your profile? OMG! OMG!!! :-)
Hell, if I didn't have any "friends" on my profile, I wouldn't have any friends AT ALL! LOL! I'm weird!
Anyway, hope you're having a good week.

Let me know how it goes! If I was going to try it, I'd just do it late at night in my house. Just as a start. Then I'd try for places that are standard haunts, like cemeteries and stuff.
I'm sure there are plenty of websites dedicated to this subject. I've seen a couple before. Some have audio downloads, not that that proves anything to a skeptic (even me).

“I am so disgusted by this new round of "race consciousness"” – Equality Seven/Prometheus
This from someone that used the race card so much he almost bled to death from the paper cuts.
“There's an insidious nature to the wildly flung accusations and incriminations of "racist!!".” – Equality Seven/Prometheus
He ought to know given how he does it. “How does one respond appropriately to the "racist!" accusation?” – Equality Seven/Prometheus
Well, when he did it to me, I highlighted the falsehood and proved how it was wrong. Didn’t stop him from doing it, but other readers could see his deception.
“It's difficult if not impossible to engage in a substantive debate if one is constantly defending one's self against such a charge. “ – Equality Seven/Prometheus
Well maybe he should quit calling people racists!

We wouldn't do that. We love you here on GOLO!! I especially like to read your posts. I like your logic most times. Can't say I agree to everything you say, but you are cool with your comments. Who can't appreciate that? :)

Well, the peace and tranquility was good while it lasted, but now the hate mongering is back. And the first one shows it has no clue about REAL missile defense and how it works, and about diplomacy.

This one says:
“Once entry is gained by an intruder the laws of self-defense take precedence over the defense of habitation rules, with the exception of the duty to retreat rule.”
http://www.concealedhandguncarry.com/2.html
This one says:
“North Carolina law does not allow the use of deadly force solely to protect property, or to prevent theft, or to regain stolen property. An owner can defend his or her property using reasonable and necessary force, but not deadly force. A property owner cannot shoot a thief before, during, or after a theft.”

That's true. In my hometown, some pagan group (witches?) perform their rituals in the cemeteries. They paint on the tombstones with chicken blood or something. The stains have been there for YEARS and do not completely go away. So watch out for the bad guys. They scare me more than any ghost!
I'm curious if you were to hear something in your recording, what would you think? Of course, that's a mighty big if!

According to Johnson Britt, the district attorney in Robeson County, you can use lethal force to protect your toaster. If someone is in the process of burglary, they are committing a felony. Everyone I’ve ever heard on the law says you can use lethal force to keep someone out, but once inside your house, the common laws of self defense take over. Britt says other wise. He says you can legally shoot someone even if they are trying to leave!!! Doesn’t sound right to me. I’m going to have to research this a bit. Personally I recommend everyone follow the self defense laws, but if you’re in Robeson county, you at least know that the DA will protect you if you just want to take a burglar out.

Article in with Britt was quoted:
http://www.fayobserver.com/Articles/2009/08/28/928779
Other District Attorneys don’t seem as sure as Britt. It’s open to interpretation. There has been an effort to clarify the law, but nothing has happened yet. Interestingly, Britt asks what would a “reasonable person” do. That shows it’s open to interpretation, even to him. And that’s something you don’t want to risk your life and freedom on when it comes to a DA or jury. You need to be sure. Protecting your life and your family are sure things. Protecting the toaster is not.

common sense will tell anyone that but when you have witnesses backing up the story of another I think I'll start with believing the one whom the witnesses agree with, especially when the witnesses who had nothing to gain from testifying.

True, but irrelevant to THIS blog given it doesn’t mention anything about witnesses. I was commenting on the information presented in the blog.
Also, if you’re going to start collecting my comments, also go to the ones on news articles. That’s where you’ll find more positive comments given people generally only create blogs that are more controversial.

Also, if you’re going to start collecting my comments
But you fail to realize that I kenw there were witnesses as I lived here when the article first came out in our local paper and there were two other witnesses( by standers) thus my confirmed conviction that they warned the man TWICE to put the gun down. In fact one of them was my neigbors son who lived in the area. I was teasing about collecting statements. I don't have enough interest in golo or it's happenings to go that far. But tell me honestly do you? you always seem to can pull someone's statements out of the works that was said a couple years ago. I've often wondered how you did that.

Again, my comments were based on the INFORMATION IN THE BLOG. Don’t always read the other comments (didn't in this case). Plus I can’t validate them as true. If the blog author had presented evidence of witnesses (in the blog), then I would have considered them.

I have a hard time believing that anyone would not enjoy talking to you. While we don't always agree on things, I have never seen you expressing yourself in a way that's offensive or uninteresting. In fact, I love reading your posts, as they are always informative and respectful of others' views. Have an awesome afternoon. :)

Whew...it makes me feel a lot better to know I'm not the only person who does that...LOL It's hard to find the time to write; sometimes you just have to make it. I usually write in the wee hours to make sure my passion does not interfere with daily demands, and I kind of like it that way because of how peaceful everything is when everyone is asleep. :) Have an awesome day.

this is on the bog about the unc kid who was shot 4 times. I didn't know they had a video. If they ever relese it please send me a message I would like to see that also. I never did get an answer from leo why they shoot multi times at a suspect either in these situations.. I have mixed emotions. I thought someone said the 911 call said one of the cops says something he didn't know was being recorded also.

Not so sure about that. He said that he wants to believe in god, but couldn’t b/c there are so many bad things in the world. I think if that’s the only reason you don’t believe in god, it kind of makes you a ‘weak’ atheist.

Hey LF. Someone just forwarded this blog post to me. Sigh, a day late and another dollar short.
However, I loved your comment above. I've looked up Vishnu myself, and realized long ago what you meant. So much for educating that "other" group. Cheers!

On second thought, you might be right. Sounds like he really might want to believe. But it’s not a switch under a person’s control. Either you believe or don’t. There is no conscious decision to suddenly start believing.
Well, back to my rum and coke…
