Think of it as a multiple question test with no grade. Each race is a question. Any races in which you indicate a choice will be counted. The ones you don't answer simply get ignored. You could hypothetically walk in, just vote for president, and submit your ballot. The one vote would be counted. The unanswered ones would just be ignored.

No problem :-D
Straight ballots are a bad idea, IMO. It's better to consider each race individually and vote for the best candidate in each race one by one. If you don't feel that you can make that choice, you're free to guess or just not make a choice at all. It's really important to keep in mind that it's your choice, which you don't have to defend or explain to anyone except yourself. As an American, you have that right.

That's Steve's word for basically anyone whose political beliefs are to the left of or which disagree with his own.
Classically speaking, it refers to someone whose political philosophy leans towards the more liberal aspects.

Nice lady, it's never wrong to vote for whomever and however you choose. If that's the only race you want to vote in, then that's your free choice to make, and you need not feel that you have to explain it or defend it to anyone. As an American, you are entitled to vote, and nobody else has a right to say anything about who you do and don't vote for.
If other people think that they do have that right, tell em to shut up and go on about your business! :-D

1) I don't think you're stupid. Even if I did, I'd never say so. That's just rude.
2) Not understanding is why we ask questions. It gives us an opportunity to learn. Seems like you're doing just fine to me.
3) You're whatever you want to be. Honestly, I think most of us are a little of both. Don't feel like you have to put a label on what you believe. It's enough that you believe it and it works for you. Rightist, leftist, centrist, whatever-ist. Just be Wheat. That's a good enough answer for anybody.

Honestly, you just have to look at where they stand on the things that are important to you, whatever those might be. Most of the time, you'll find that you agree with them on some things and disagree on others. That's pretty normal, since all of us have our own ideas and none of ever agree on everything.
You have to just look at all of those things and decide "which one do I agree with more" and "which one do I think can do a better job?" Sometimes, you don't have much of a choice. Other times, it's easier. All you can do is the best you can to reach a decision, and when you have, that's good enough.

I wouldn't worry so much about fitting in here or there. Honestly expressing your beliefs, and doing your best to respect those of others (which, admittedly, can be hard on here sometimes) is good enough. Sometimes you'll agree with people, and other times you won't. Both are fine. Just follow what's in your heart and don't change it for other people. You'll do just fine.

Ah ... Think of it like buying a car.
You go and read all you can find about the cars you are interested in, and find the one that you think best meets your needs. Sometimes you have to settle for the one that almost meets the most of them, and even when you buy it, you still don't know if it'll break down next week or not.
All you can do is find out all the information, do your best to figure out which car you like the best and then buy it.
Works the same way for candidates in an election.
