Happy Humperz Day Yacs! Hope things are going great for you. Glad to see the Waves back.

"Hello?"

Hey Yacs! Top o' the day to you.

Sorry to drop off the radar after your last response.

So the mystery is somewhat solved. We've sparred on religion. That narrows it down to about 5,000 people - lol.

Sometimes I like to spar, sometimes I jab, occasionally I even try to engage in intelligent debate (keep that to a minimum though :-))

Anyway, as I've said before, I do like your style, so even though we might not see eye to eye on everything, I enjoy your posts and will look forward to future intelligent discussions, or flame wars, depending on which sides of our respective beds we woke up on on a particular day.

Have a good one!

LOL, it takes a lot to gross me out. I've been scouting around looking for "weird" things to take pics of for those Mystery blogs.

Enjoy your Friday - stay safe out there

"It's the same negative reaction we've been seeing on "60 Minutes" for years...."

Exactly, yacs! But they have all these conspiracy theories they need to justify. I really don't think most of them understand the difference in culture, religion and the blending of the two.

That's not to say the person they were "trying" to question was someone we might should be concerned about, it just means that they were going about it in a confrontational way. They were clearly looking for a problem.

Oh yeah. Hope you are doing well... haven't talked to you in a while. Cheers!

"I shouldn't let it bother me, because a lot of the jabs I see are aimed at fundies or hypocrites, but when the mood strikes, I just like to remind people that not all of us are like that. "

I get yelled at if I use the word "fundy" - lol

The religious fundamenatlists are the only intended targets of my religious jabs, but i'm not always careful to make that clear in my posts. Hence I'm bad at appearing to generalize (and ok, sometimes I do it on purpose if I'm having trouble with my lure - and need to cast a wider net - lol), but that doesn't reflect my true feelings about religion or religious people.

have a good one. don't be a stranger.

"So, sometimes I spar with atheists, sometimes I spar with fundies. Maybe I'm just an instigator?"

I've been known to do that, especially for topics - like gun control - that I don't have strong feelings about. If I'm in a fighting mood, and the place is full of NRA, I take the anti-gun stance. If it's full of "gun-grabbers" I take the pro-gun stance. Whatever it takes to get a rise out of someone - lol.

i'm such a loser :-)

TGIF! Hope you enjoy the weekend! :)

Read your blog - some very good points seing how I am funemployed myself - well partially funemployed...Two years ago I was working 6&7 days a week. Now I hope to get 6 or 7 days a month.

Trying to get caught up after having been away - I'll see if I can pick a fight in the coming week.

You got my back right?

(crickets chirp over the faint sound of distant coyotes)

Have a good weekend and don't let your meatloaf....

"Depends -- have you shaved it lately?"

Weed eater's in the shop...

Congrats on the new jorb, BTW.

I'm waiting on some feedback from A T Massey (mining company)- I have a mining engineering degree and I am considering going back to WV.

I've been working in private and commercial development for the last 20 years but I don't expect any trun-around for a long time. I don't think I can wait it out financially so I am looking at 'alternatives'.

I left WV after getting out of the Army in 87 to find work in NC (I was working within 3 days of arriving here) - the irony of running back to the mountains is almost too much to handle but I've got a couple of gals depending on me and there's basically nothing I wouldn't do for them.

"White male priviledge" has been a complete let down for me...

"Badgers? We don't need no stinking badgers!"

Here ya go, Raul....

And stop by Spatula City when you get a chance....

Hi Yacs! Feel free to stalk my profile. :) I love your comments, and while I don't always agree with you, you have wonderful manners.

Here is the "Target" story. It was a funny account of our encounter with a religious lady. Keep in mind, it was for humour purposes only and was in no way a slam against the religious.

Have a great weekend! :)

"Funny! I'd never seen him before."

I'm shocked, shocked I say, that you haven't seen UHF.

Why Weird Al didn't win an Oscar for that movie is God's own private mystery - who can forget such great hits as "Wheel of Fish" and "Conan the Librarian" - not to mention "Spatula City"...

"was there ever a better R.E.M. album?"

You ARE correct, sir!

I even have my 14 year old diggin' on some REM and that's her favorite one (I kinda like Monster too but it's a whole different sound - not exactly REMish but good in a different way).

The memories attached to my old albums are so strong. Growing up in WV it was almost like I was only one in the state listening to 'that kind' of music. It was like a secret bond with my friends that liked the same stuff. And we were always looking for 'new' music - "if you like that, you'll LOVE this".

My daughter and I were talking about how the 'albums' newer bands put out aren't really albums so much as a collection of their songs - they don't have a theme or tell a story anymore. I guess the internet changed all that - we bought the kid an iPOD for her birthday/graduation (from middle school - don't get me started...) so she puts together her own 'albums' but she really likes older music.

(cont'd)

ARRARRARRAAAGHH!

I had a really good post and POOF - MAN I hate that....

Look for a music blog coming soon to a goLO near you - thanks for the 'idear' dude...

"You forgot to click the light switch three times before leaving it as it was."

Are you CRAZY!?!?!!? - Do you have any idea about the germs that live on a light switch? I have no way of knowing who touched it last!!!!

(I'll " hit you up fo' realz " a little later - gotta go get the kid at the band fund-raiser - and pick up some Lysol at the store...)

"And your brother's gonna kill me and he's six-feet-ten!"

A repost with TWO - count 'em - TWO - NEW LINKS!!!!!

Get 'em while the HTML is still hot!!!

Mmmmm...just like Mom used to bake

"Remember that article..."

Finally got some ME time and read your piece - I liked that a lot - there's something insidious about 'keeping us safe'.

I get the 'tin foil' insult hurled my way but the very systems used to watch the terrorists are used here - and the folks in DC are protecting themselves primarily - and us too, if they can while they're at it...no promises though.

It's the incremental aspect that really bugs me - they're not going to be in my house next week - but what about 10 years from now after some nut job pops off some bio-weapon at lunch time & takes out a dozen thousand folks on their way to the local grab-nickel?

The government eventually will screw up and let another big attack happen and then the only way to "keep us safe" will be to lock us down tight - for our own good of course...

And yet another thing to consider is - hang on - there's some body at the door......

hey dude...you forgot me or what? =)

It got pulled, I guess. It's not on my blog list... I haven't logged on since yesterday early afternoon, so I hadn't noticed. Weird.

There didn't seem to be anything said the was over the top, in relation to previous blogs on the same subject.

The image could have been construed as offensive, but in the past when an image had been deemed offensive, they just removed it.

Like you, I have had posts removed with the reason emailed to me, (just 2, hard to believe, huh?), but never had a blog removed with no explanation.

I may follow up with Editor-in-chief, just for curiosity's sake.

“Good one! Thanks for the chuckle.” - Yacs

Thanks! I’m surprised no one beat me to it.

P.S. "knukkas"?

I spelled it wrong...

should be "nukkas"

http://www.forumammo.com/cpg/displayimage.php?album=search&cat=0&pos=0

"Oh, and you still need to read some Chris Moore."

NAG

NAG

NAG

I JUST found his website...when's my book report due?

Sheesh....

I read the first chapter of "Fool"...

“You flesh-terd dropped stinking from the poxy ar%ehole of a hare-lipped harlot!”

And they say literature is dead....

(had to play with it to satisfy the filter)

Sorry, Dude. I only nagged because you never answered me the first time. (God, I sound like my wife.)"

That does sound strangely familiar....

I had to Bing Mr Moore to sample his fine literary skill. His blog is pretty funny too..The Timereavel Tweats are fairly witty, I must say...and dontcha know, etc.....

"My Time Machine Finally Finished. I’m off to warn them about the bomb. If there’s a city where Chicago used to be, it worked!"

"Time Machine Working Great. Off to tell my younger self that there’s a reason why that chick at the disco has such big hands."

" Turns out that Neanderthals CAN mate with humans. But, you need to get them pretty drunk. Someone told me."

"P.S. "Knukkas" was the word that set off that chain of thoughts;"

After some careful thought and plain old visual observation, I have reached the conclusion that a more appropriate "gangsta" greeting between us would be 'wut up my NILLA' as in NILLA Wafers or perhaps vaNILLA ice cream - it's truer to our own cultural "roots" and works more in keeping with "color" honoring aspects of the whole "gangsta" movement (based on my astupid eerrr ASTUTE study of sub-cultures of course..)

AOL Radio threw me a frikkin' bone....

Radio Free Europe

That's 'real time' reporting, BTW....

I mean "simultaneously"....

You know - as in "at the sme time"....

well....

not anymore....

song's over now....

But De do do do De da da da is on now.....

OK

I'm through now.

Sorry....

"Vodak again? :-0"

Through dilligent study and pains-taking research, I have discovered that vodak actaully only exists in the lower half of any given bottle of vodka.

Must be something to do with 'specific gravity'....

"You've just answered your own question. :-)"

Sadly, I usually have too . . .

" so I rolled down my window and cranked some John Denver "

Next time try "Dirty White Boy"

(yeah, I'm old.....)

Here's a gentle socio-political message from that first effort by the Sex Pistols (those darlings of English society):

She was a girl from birmingham She just had an abortion She was a case of insanity Her name was pauline she lived in a tree She was a no one who killed her baby She sent her letters from the country She was an animal - she was a bloody disgrace

Body! Im not an animal! Body! Im not an animal!

{Man, that Johnny Lydon always knew just the right words for any occasion...}

Well, so much for formattting.

*sigh*

A preview!

A preview!

My kingdom for a preview!

Hope all is well with you.

"Now we know where you live!"

And FYI, that whole "pot o' gold" story is a dammed lie....

"But how 'bout Munchkins?"

They're delicious!

Hi stranger!!! Hope all is well with you! :-)

Beth

What is up, my nilla?

You sent a wonderful answer! I have been meaning to reply to it but you know how it is. Today I slacked off on here for the first time in weeks - and will pay for it tomorrow and tomorrow night :-)

I am very glad things are going well and trust me - those paths are can be tricky but eventually He makes Himself heard loud and clear! Congrats on the contest, I think that is awesome (and also hilarious the way you described it!)

"Are you still in the area, or back in WV?"

Still here for now. I've not heard anything else from WV and I'm kinda uncertain about being too pushy.

The uncertainty is really the worst psychological aspect. I'm not the worrying sort but I am the "planning" sort so it's a little troublesome not to be able to plan.

I've managed to scare up a few "spot" jobs but nothing of real significance. "Subsistence" comes to mind.

I'm still waiting for those "shovel ready" jobs that should appear any day now....(insert faux sincerity here)

I like IPA's... Dog Fish IPA is pretty good, as is Carolina Pale Ale IPA. I first had a Fat Tire in Colorado and I like that. Not big on Belgium Wheats, but I do love a good pilsner. Not many european pilsners out there.

You?

That's funny. The beers you like I am not too hip on! My wife likes those types of beers, citrus and Belgian ales. She *really* dislikes IPAs.

OH COME ON MAN!!!!

I threw you a soft ball "Caligula" quote and you're all like "I gotta go make a living" - "I've got important stuff to do" - like you have life to live to live or somethin'....Mr. Bigshot

(I'm going to be an old Jewish mother when I grow up)
