Ever notice how when you go to a restaurant, there is always someone who orders the "Herb crusted honey glazed salmon" but they pronounce it like SALLLLmon. It always make me think of Mr. Rushdie, and then I want to throttle them and say, I'm going to declare a fatwa on your azz if you can't pronounce the fish!

I went back and re-read the article I was basing that post on, back when he was not allowed into the US - I did not remember all of the article correctly - It was his openly voiced support for Rushdie's death and his financial contributions to HAMAS - kind of running together in my late night memory.
So let me correct that -
MORAL support for the death of Salman Rushdie

Ahh the good ol' days...
I saw them in Charleston WV same venue as the SRV show - great place for music. The local Philharmonic played there as well.
I used to work in a little bar in WV called the Empty Glass. In 91 when REM was not touring they did Mountain Stage (NPR radio show from WV) and Peteer Buck came in and the place went nuts.
A little later Billy Bragg showed up. We begged them to play for us but they were just tired and looking to wind down so we tried to act cool.
People would never believe what a great music scene Charleston WV was in the late 80's early 90's..
I saw Ray Charles in an outdoor concert once down by the river.

John's cremation was today so I said a little prayer. I picked out a beautiful urn for him and another for his dad. It weighed heavily on his heart that he still had not taken care of his dad. He still grieved over him and unsure what he wanted to do. So I took care of both of them. I may go back and get another for me so that evrything will be ready when my time comes.
Anyway just wanted ya'll to know that I am hanging in there. Today I was wondering what do you do after 18 years with someone, being alone again. I am sure that I will find my way.
