"I can't resist asking why anyone would get their picture taken by a "nude photographer". Is this a misplaced modifier, or is something dangling? I'll have to watch where I get my portraits taken..."

They get ill when I correct their grammar, so I just let it pass.

(It's a misplaced modifier)

Thanks for your posts at my profile about the big guys reaping the extra savings themselves instead of passing the savings on to their consumers (ex: Mattel's toys). Although we - the average workers - are at the mercy of our economy, we can certain team up against the big CEO's and make them sell more American-made goods. We can do that by buying only "Made In USA". You made a good point about the one's who are solely benefiting from selling cheaper products made overseas, and it's not you or me. It's the fattened company owners who are benefiting.

Im sorry if you thought I was attacking you. I didnt mean you personally. Once again thanks.

You a clemson fan? My ex-aunt graduated from there. I love their football team, not my favorite but I like to watch them. Unless they were the purple uniforms lol.

o dont ask the poor guy about the lost scouts and all....that would just be rubbing salt..but if he brings it up...then get all the details....didnt he allow some lost time in the walk back...i mean you need to allow down time for stupid stuff...

well the sinclair lewis quote comes from duh sinclair lewis?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinclair_Lewis

Billy Graham has lived quite well off his ministry...his son franklin is doing even better....give your monies to local churches f you must...at least there you will see the benefits.

well seems your question had more merit than my answer:

here is some info on the lewis quote:

there is no opposite of faith...its like beef. Tofu is not the opposit of beef it is simply another option. Why do you assume because one does not people in your god that they do not have faith?

What did the wrong way scout leader say.

sorry i should not have assumed...

kk where did charlie say he went wrong...i mean he has had time to think it over..what did he say he would do differently?

What is the opposite of "faith"?

despair

I am getting in on this conversation in the middle, so I may be way off course.

absolute certainty....hmmmmm.....do you like quantum physics...I do.....causality depends on position at time of event...both position and time relative....kind of takes absolute certainty out of the picture

LOL, too serious, I do believe in HUGS

Bad maps are a geniue curse and I have fallen victim to them. We went hiking looking for a tram. I kept asking the one question...if there was an operating tram in the mountains someone might have mentioned it, well to no avail. We walked hours...uphill..always uphill...only when we could begin to see the old grown up markings of a tram did we note the date on the map...1932...

we are too dependant on techno stuff. A good map is the way to go. Keep me updating on what else he says...i knew someone would ask him what he would do differently....tell charlies sometimes its just better to be lucky than skillfull.

with lolly, never use spell check and never apologize...I do not worry about typos...:D

Did I see a post saying you're a Scouter? I was at the training Saturday; which one were you?

Good afternoon, you are right. I really need to learn how to let those comments go. I try my darndest but somethings I cant. On here it is so easy to hide behind your hate b/c your are not saying it face to face. I am going to have to try harder. I try not to post as much and just read to keep from going there with another. You are right, that place is going to be full. I hope they are warm under their sheets..LOL..have a great day and an awesome weekend!

That is so true. I think those that post such things are private b/c they have a page that is not. They just dont want to post under their real user name as to not show their true colors to their fellow GOLO memebers. They are hiding behind two screen names. But to each its own. I wont engage in it anymore. At least I will try not too. Have a great weekend with whatever you do!

Good for you! And congrats to your sons for their ranks! I just started; my oldest is a Tiger. I imagine I have many more years of involvement ahead of me.

Did you speak at the Mega Training?

Whoops; please ignore that final question. You already answered it! I saw your latest post, then linked over to reply before I saw your earlier one.

I took New Leader Essentials/Youth Protection in the a.m. and CM-specific in the afternoon. And enjoyed that barbecue in between!

Thank you very much!

"For a young person you have a sharp wit" - thank you! (but don't believe everything you read on a profile) :*)

"Just a note to say that I really do like Chapel Hill and thanks for the posting fun on the big(ger than Minneapolis) city of Raleigh."

No problem at all. Thanks for being a good sport and playing along! It's great when we can have fun with each other on here.

Welcome Cheer from an Alum. '88 & '93.

HOPE YOU HAVE HAD A GOOD DAY AND HAVE A GOOD EVENING.LOOKING FORWARD TO TALKING TO YOU AND GETTING TO KNOW YOU.

Disciplinary actions against doctors are public record....so you don't have to have permission. This was started several years ago so the public could see if there had been complaints lodged against a particular doctor. Go to the NC Medical Board and you should be able to find the link.

"I'm not sure how deep into Constitutional law you may be,"

Pretty deep, considering it's my life's work. :-D

"but other than impeachment and subsequent conviction of a sitting president, does Congress have any authority to bring charges of any kind regarding one who flagrantly violates the oath of office"

Congress doesn't, no. The power of Congress with regard to the President is spelled out in the Constitution, and extends to impeachment in the House (as provided for in Article I, Section 2, Clause 5) & trial / conviction in the Senate (Article I, Section 3, Clause 6.)

There is some degree of disagreement with regard to whether the president can be charged, indicted and tried for crimes committed while in office, as it has never actually happened. That said, I fall into the camp which believes that he can be so charged ONCE REMOVED from office. I base this on Article I, Section 3, Clause 7:

Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party, (defendant), convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

It mentions the defendant convicted because in cases like that of the presidency, the occupant of the office can't be charged with a crime with regard to criminal acts committed in office through the regular justice system or be served with civil suits for the same while he or she holds that office. It's the doctrine of sovereign immunity. This does not extend to civil suits resulting from acts committed prior to the assumption of the office, as one can see in Clinton being compelled to respond in Clinton v. Jones.

Still, no prosecutor would attempt to pursue an indictment against a sitting president until Congress had availed itself of the impeachment process and removed the person from the office. In the event that they fail to do so, the person is open to indictment after leaving the office under normal circumstances. This is why Ford pardoned Nixon. Once Nixon left the office, he no longer enjoyed immunity and could have been (i.e. would have been) charged as a regular citizen.

Hey, hope you are having a good day.Tomorrow we will be starting a nother week hope you have a goodone.

An interesting note in reference to subways: All of the mass transportation naysayers say that we don't have enough density here. They said the same thing in Washington, D.C. when the subway and additional mass transit was proposed there. Go take a look now -- the density has grown up around the subway and train stations (ok, as well as every other corner, too). Had D.C. not started when they did, the whole place would be shut down now. It's currently difficult at best, but better than it would have been. The subway currently serves over 8 million people per week. Raleigh needs some forward thinking people. Subway? Maybe not, but at least get to work on potential solutions now. Six String I have been saying this for years and still naysayers curse me out. The naysayers will be the first ones to board the trains when they come. But we need backing like Charlotte had. It is a political thing.

Hey you keep in touch with me also. And thanks again. Take care.

Go Tigers!!!

WE ARE #9 PRESEASON. Have not seen that since I was in school...
