I may be from Ireland but I'm a Carolina Boy now. However, Carolina Blue is NOT my favorite color. I prefer RED and WHITE.
I'm originally from Ireland. I have been here in Raleigh since 1990. Raleigh has only gotten better since I've been here.
My favorite hobby is travelling. I've been lucky enough to have been to most all the states in the US and many places beyond.
More about me? I like to be outside, I like to be with my family and friends, I like a good time, and I like a good drink.

I thought the blog was pretty interesting. Have you seen the big wave-riding generator off the coast of Scotland? (or an article about it) It looks like a string of barges tied together and the wave riding motion flexes the thing and it uses some kind of geared mechanism to generate electricity.
I think that similar ideas can be used to off-set and enhance a lot of traditional generation while we make a switch to the 'future'.
And I was most jerking Jeremiah's chain. LOL again....

I am from the US but have a good name: Colleen Marie Sullivan. My momma was a Sullivan too but they weren't kissing cousins. Her family came here with her mother and her father's parents. My father's family was here 100 years but he claimed he was 100% Irish decent. My mother kiddingly asked for a divorce 20 years later when she found out he also had Scotch, English, Welsh, American Indian and a little bit of African American (contested in some parts of the family). Hoping they play Isn't it Grand Boys by the Clancy Brothers at my wake and everyone gets drunk!
Did I share too much? Blame it on the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale I had after my evening constitutional!

When we hear another call out in agony from the effects of addiction, there is nothing we can do but help. That response becomes a part of you that you cannot resist.
I guess you can say that those of us in recovery who respond to the cries of others can only describe it as 'that's my job now'.
Oh, congrats on the election! My grandson is a junior (maybe a rising senior?) at State. But, he's a geek/nerd type. Computer engineering student. He could care less about politics and/or sports. LOL

I remember reading in one of your earlier blogs about your election. Congratulations !
It is truly sad to see the level of laziness out there these days. As the world’s oldest graduate student (well, maybe) I see it frequently.
One of the things that I have picked up over the last several years, that was actually a surprise, is that the foreign students are really just as lazy as the American students.
The difference, though, is that they appear to be smarter. That concerned me, for a while, until I realized that there is a very good reason: They don’t send the dumb ones over here ....
