I may be from Ireland but I'm a Carolina Boy now. However, Carolina Blue is NOT my favorite color. I prefer RED and WHITE.
I'm originally from Ireland. I have been here in Raleigh since 1990. Raleigh has only gotten better since I've been here.
My favorite hobby is travelling. I've been lucky enough to have been to most all the states in the US and many places beyond.
More about me? I like to be outside, I like to be with my family and friends, I like a good time, and I like a good drink.

It cracks me up that people EVER mention this, as if it's a contradiction. Hmm, let's see... a convicted murderer that has demonstrated nothing but contempt for society and civilization being executed... versus... an innocent human life being killed for..... existing.

My coworker got back to me. Unfortunately, he doesn't drink, so he couldn't recommend any bars :-( ... Here's what he had to say about Sydney:
1) get some brochures while you're walking through the airport (on your way to customs) - there will be lots of "things to see and do" in them.
2) a harbor ride (ferry) is nice, you can see the sights from the water
3) the beach in Sydney is nice, too
4) Koala Park and Tarunga Park Zoo - both are "zoos", but different experiences (if you like animals)
5) Circular Key - a day trip, and a big tourist attraction
6) Center Point - he said you could "splurge" on a meal, here
7) Australia Square (a round building) - has a revolving restaurant, so you can see the sights while you eat
He stressed that if you were in/around the Redfern area later in the day...to leave. He said that it's a rough area after dark (he equated it to Harlem in NY).
I hope this helps a little...
