about rocknhorse

I've been a GOLO member for some time now and thought maybe it was time to update my profile.

As stated before, I'm a happily married mother of two wonderful kids.  Life doesn't get any better.  I am truly the luckiest person in the world to have my wonderful family!  My husband and I are self-employed and have been for 10 years.  We've had our struggles in the past, but it's the strength of our love that supports us through the tough times.

I am fortunate to have 4 horses, which I train using gentle methods.  I believe that you have to see the world through their eyes.  When you can successfully do that, then you can understand them and train them accordingly.  This philosophy works equally well when communicating with people.

I am an optimist.  Even during bad times, I seek the silver lining!  Every event, every mistake is a learning experience.  Rather than dwell on the negative, focus on the positive and don't waste the lesson!

I have been accused of being very opinionated and stubborn - neither are negative traits in my opinion!  I believe what I believe, but I'm open to other opinions.  While I may respect your opinion, that doesn't mean I'll agree.  Likewise, just because I may disagree, that doesn't mean I cannot still respect your right to your opinion.

I believe as Americans, we have been afforded the same opportunities.  Some of us took advantage of those opportunities and some did not.  Those who work to excel and to better their lives should not be held back for the benefit of those who do not!

I believe in a hand up but not a hand out!

I believe in accountability/responsibility for your actions!  Life is about choices and every action involves CHOICE!  If you make the wrong choice, you should be held accountable-no excuses!

Beauty comes from within!  It is confidence in being who you are and liking/loving that person!!!

Topics that are extremely important to me are drunk driving and anything that involves kids.  Wrecks that occur because of drunk drivers are not "accidents."  Kids need to be protected.  People who abuse kids should be dealt with in manners that I cannot state here.

Finally, I believe in honesty, but diplomacy when interacting with each other.

Welcome to my profile.  I have many pictures in my Image Gallery!  I welcome comments, thoughts, discussions and debates!

Hey. The number for the mini dots is (252) 442-4427. I may blog it later.

Have a great weekend Rock-n-horse!!!

Hopefully the rain didn't do any damage to the house :) and that the move will go smoothly from here..

Cheers!!

Hey - I got back from the beach today (Saturday.) Looks like golo has been interesting this past week. Did the rain damage your house?

WOW!!! thanks for clueing us all in. how far are you moving the house?

I'm probably asking a silly question but I don't know about this. The walls of the house - are they going to have to be completely redone or just the missing half of them?

Who will put the house back together? Have you decided on your wall colors yet? It's all so amazing to me, especially knowing the company involved only three men who moved the house!

Good morning rock-n-horse, how was your weekend?

Oh wow! Thanks for answering that. I've followed your move and been anxious with you, especially during the rain last week! You certainly have your work cut out for your but you are really going to reap the rewards and be so proud!

That is still something to have in your trove of memories for generations to come. I will be happy for you when you get all your little family in one spot. We definitely can't call your family boring. LOL Have a good week...

Awesome pix! Hope your day is going great! Hopefully if I make it to Mule Days, I'll be doing some riding!

Good afternoon. I see you got your house moved. Did you get my phone # the other day? I see you got a mobile home. Lol

Rocknhorse, I thought about you this weekend, what with the storm and all. I'm thinking the weather cooperated with you, huh? Bet it was a nail-biter, watching that house move slowly to your lot. It's so great that all this is behind you now, and you can concentrate on getting the house ready to live in. My best wishes to you.

Susan

it looking so exciting! always nice to get passionate about something this big! enjoy!

Good morning, Check out my blog. I think it would be a good way for us to meet some of our friends in person.

Howdy and have a glorious day.

Thank you. I appreciate that. Some people are rude and just very distasteful with their remarks. And I wont allow anyone to bully me. Today has been a better day thus far. I know who to ignore and avoid and who to actually speak too. Thanks again.

no...i didn't get by there this weekend, but if you see a dark gray altima on stephenson rd, it's probably me, looking for you!

i know where you're talking about...is it behind there?

good morning...hope you are enjoying this great day!...we made it to wednesday...YEA! :-)

is it mule days time already?...i know that's like a holiday in johnston county!...LOL

hell, and thank you for posting on my blog, i'm really glad there's some people out there that only have one id. the only reason i don't post everything about myself is i live alone,i'm a women, and this is the first time i've been on any blog or even a chat room. i guess i want to be cautious for my safety. are you getting your house back together? what a job you have!! good luck and please keep posting, it's been amazing seeing it. p.s. did you see in the news today about the house on the side of the highway!!

Check out your blog on the new home page at wral.com/golo -Angela

Honey--Twilll be along time before you eat at the restaurant again. It gutted the place and the explosion doesn't make it safe now. I hope I never see anyghing like that again. To see it going down and then to see the impact of it hitting the building was more than i bargained for.

Rocknhorse,

Did you see the article in Strange News about the house being moved and fell/was knocked off the trailer? What a mess! I immediately thought about you and how bad it could have gone. So glad things are OK. We're all looking forward to pictures of the fix-up.

Have a great (busy) weekend.

Susan

LMAO - on your post under the Purse Theif. That was way to funny. I love your humor!!!! Have a great afternoon and thanks for the laugh I just had over your post. Me (:

You are more than welcome. Thank you for sharing that amazing adventure.

My latest Movie Review-Disturbia!

Afternoon Rocknhorse, hope you had a nice weekend. How's the house holding up?

Susan

Thanks,

I am not sure what's been going on either. Just can't explain it. Won't even try.

Again thanks.

I'm afraid there will be no more long stories from this side. I just don't think it is the place anymore.

Thanks for your reading.

howdy rocknhorse! hope you're doing well!

your comments on oz...they didnt seen just murders etc to oz...many of them were simply poor people...plus women and kids were sent there..the truer example of a island is devil's island off the coast of france i want to say....made famous in the movie "papillion"

good morning!...hope everything is coming together with your house...i haven't been down stephenson rd lately, but i'm going to get by that way soon...hope you have a great day! :-)

Rocknhorse, haven't seen you lately, probably have your hands full with the house. We are still excited to see pictures.

The BF and I went to the beach this weekend. It couldn't have been more beautiful! We swam, and rode the ferry, and went to the Flea Mall, and watched cooking shows to our hearts' content! (We don't have cable so this is a big treat) Hated to come home, next trip will be in the spring.

Susan

Thanks for informing me the condition of the horses. The poster made it sound like the horse was in a position to be unable to walk about. That would be cruelty even if it's fed I would think. If it can't get proper exercise that can't be good for them is it? It could be they can take it out and ride it and get the exercise it needs. I don't know about the care of horses as I've never had one but if they don't look good, I call for help. Animals, children, nor elderly being abused have no voices. I think it's a human's duty to speak up. You have a good week and don't work so hard. I notice that more people comment on animals abuse than children..

Bless lyou for informing me on this subject. Taht is a lot to take into consideration. My son's dog has cushings so I know what that can be like for her. You are so kind to be giving this horse somewhere to enjoy it's life. A lot of people wouldn't care. I learned a lot about chest eating compared to ground. I always knew they were a big responsibility but not to the extent you're telling. I'm sure some of those people wilth those show horses want them only for the ribbons they can get and then when they don't win they could care less. Makes you want to cry when you think of the cruelties some animals go through. Again Thank you. I feel I've really learned something today.

P.S. Now that I know you are close by them I will not worry as much because you'll know if things aren't right and get them help. ladyblue

Oh I've checked your gallery often. The reason is because I know you're always adding something. From the first time I saw the pictures of your horses I could tell they were loved. People who don't understand animals can't believe you can tell the difference in a happy and content animal and one who is not loved. It's something about the eyes. It's their soul. Girl. I'm chocking up. I'll talk to you later. Have a good day...

hey!...i read your ghost story a while a back and i was wondering if you remember what cementary it was that you were visiting...i am leaving next week to visit my sister in boston and she has already planned for us to go to salem...i would love to visit that cementary...thanks! :-)

Hey there, love the pictures. Chestnuts are my favorites (other than Palominos - I relate to the hair color...lol), what type of horses are they? You're very lucky to have horses in your day-to-day. I grew up with several horses and Miss It terribly. We had several Arabians (Spanish, Egyptian and Polish), but my first was an awnry Appaloosa, she was a green jumper, went over her head a few times..lol. We did have a chance to breed one of our mares, so completely understand where you are on the yearling. It was a blast and good luck to you with yours!!! You are very fortunate, Envy Envy Envy. :) Thanks for sharing, I love stuff like that!! and beautiful pictures. :)

hey there! i'm sure you are very busy so i just wanted to stop by and say hello. take care and don't work too hard!! LOL :)

your home is coming together...

Horse, honestly my blog was a rather emotional response to parking subject, intended to evoke emotion in others, to people saying he disab;ed should drive and should stay home. I donn't let my health hold me back, confining would be killing me, and if I don't limit myself, no one else should.

Didn't you just love WCU? My son does.

Yeppers,He is a Pike.I don't see him that much anymore. He works at O'Malleys as a bouncer, and at the Library (restaurant).Thank Goodness for web cams and instant messaging..lol

regarding the HC blog,Thanks for posting.I am sorry for you wreck and the pain you are in.I do understand. My Mother is also filled up with metal plates in her ankles (she is 61).She also has good/bad days.Has heart disease, owns a florist, and makes nearly all her deliveries.I have yet to see my mom park in the HC section, but she also doesn't have a sticker which makes it illegal.Hope you feel better soon.

Hi! Yep, my husband is the "Son" in KB Bunn & Son. His dad owns the business. He loves his work and wouldn't do anything else. Do you have an address for you blog? He would love to see pics. We're out of Zebulon by the way if you ever need anything else moved.

That house was at Mcgee's Xrds wasn't it? I'm from Benson and told my husband that it was being moved. What a small world! We went down to visit my parents one Sunday and the house was gone. My husband is usually really good about following the path a house travels by the indentations on the side of the road, but we couldn't find them. May I ask how far you took it?

LOL more like someone is "owned" I am still laughing at that blog I posted. Too funny!! I saved one of your horse pictures to my computers background, its the close up where he is smellin at the cam...... its a AWESOME pic and I love to see it everyday!!!! Have a GREAT weekend!

Oh yeh I do love that pic! Meant to tell you a while back that I saved a copy, I couldnt resist! Do you ride a lot? I've been wanting to ride for a while, been toooooo long for me!!!
