I've been a GOLO member for some time now and thought maybe it was time to update my profile. 

As stated before, I'm a happily married mother of two wonderful kids.  Life doesn't get any better.  I am truly the luckiest person in the world to have my wonderful family!  My husband and I are self-employed and have been for 10 years.  We've had our struggles in the past, but it's the strength of our love that supports us through the tough times. 

I am fortunate to have 4 horses, which I train using gentle methods.  I believe that you have to see the world through their eyes.  When you can successfully do that, then you can understand them and train them accordingly.  This philosophy works equally well when communicating with people.

I am an optimist.  Even during bad times, I seek the silver lining!  Every event, every mistake is a learning experience.  Rather than dwell on the negative, focus on the positive and don't waste the lesson!    

I have been accused of being very opinionated and stubborn - neither are negative traits in my opinion!  I believe what I believe, but I'm open to other opinions.  While I may respect your opinion, that doesn't mean I'll agree.  Likewise, just because I may disagree, that doesn't mean I cannot still respect your right to your opinion.

I believe as Americans, we have been afforded the same opportunities.  Some of us took advantage of those opportunities and some did not.  Those who work to excel and to better their lives should not be held back for the benefit of those who do not! 

I believe in a hand up but not a hand out!

I believe in accountability/responsibility for your actions!  Life is about choices and every action involves CHOICE!  If you make the wrong choice, you should be held accountable-no excuses!   

Beauty comes from within!  It is confidence in being who you are and liking/loving that person!!! 

Topics that are extremely important to me are drunk driving and anything that involves kids.  Wrecks that occur because of drunk drivers are not "accidents."  Kids need to be protected.  People who abuse kids should be dealt with in manners that I cannot state here.  

Finally, I believe in honesty, but diplomacy when interacting with each other.

Even if I come to my work building late at night, which is not open to the public, I still don’t park in handicap. This is one of my biggest pet peeves lately, probably because of my co-worker. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with him at all, which I know for a fact. First time I caught him, he said he did it because he was in a hurry. But I see that he now does it regularly. Last weekend, while waiting in the car for family to shop, I watched the various handicap spots. No one I saw seemed to have a handicap. One guy even RAN across the parking lot after parking. While I’m aware that some folks have handicaps not visible, like yours, I’m willing to bet that a huge percentage of those using the spot aren’t really entitled to it.

you are right rockin, I did some thinking last night and decided against it.

Im just taking this as a lesson. I will no longer be babysitting as a way to make money, alot of parents don't teach their kids right and I can't have that in my home when Im teaching my kids respect and manners and plus I really have a hard time trusting so inturn I am going to start up my photography business

Nothing wrong with that! My friends on Brooklyn laugh when I talk to them cause they say I still don't have an accent!! I do find I am saying some stuff differently though. I guess from hearing it all day. But a lot of people still have to tell me to slow down so they can understand me! LOL It doesn't matter where you're from - it's what's inside that counts.

Rockn, Steve was not posting from experience, that was the difference, hence the reason Elcid got involved... Steve was only giving advice as if he was in the medical industry himself, then came down on me... That is why I was asking if I were wrong, not wrong in what I said, but wrong for saying anything at all! I dunno... I do know that the only thing that should be advised as far as action is that she should go see a doc...

In retrospect I don't feel so bad, You're right, I did comment out of the goodness of my heart and that, I feel, is what matters most! ((((hugs)))) :-) Now I can smile today, I was starting to feel blue from this whole mess.

Yes, those are my hellion twins in the picture. This morning, they were wired and were using everything to pounce off from on each other. well, my gray (Flossie) jumped up where my tv is, knowed down my lighthouse tealight holders which in turn fell on my tall blue vase with an Native American Indian sitting on a horse picture on it and broke most of the top off!!!! argh! I love that vase! oh well, cats will be cats. hehehe

You know, all of these missing child blogs, has me thinking. When I lived in El Salvador I had 1 sister-in-law who lived 2 hrs away, in a town called San Juan Opico (el salvador). Twice when I went to visit her, I noticed a white man(long hair & beard,very tall and skinny) with 2 white little girls. (both blonde ages about 4 & 7.) in town. The little girls were always looking down at the ground, no smiling or playing, no mother in sight. I pointed them out to my sil, and she said that she had seen them around for a couple of years, but she didnt know where they lived, and she had never seen an adult female with them. I always wondered about who those little girls were. Could they had been with misionaries? Or were they missing from their mother in the US? I searched the missing children web sites when I got home, and even sent this story to many of them, I'll always wonder about those girls.

Nice, I know exactly where that is. We looked at land near Percy Flowers store the other day... 35 acres for 150,000... perked in 15 spots. It's too far over the county line for our jobs... we have to be within 1 mile.

Your daughter has it going on. Hopefully, our future generation, can put all these racials issues to rest. I have faith in them that they can. Yes, unfortunately, their is racism in the black society against our own. It stated back from slavery where the malottos where thought to be pampered by working in the house, it carries on through today, with hair, skin pigmentation and so on. Ridiculous, Yes!, however, that is just how it is. I learned at a early age about racism within the race. I am so happy I am able to raise my children to judge a person on how they are treated rather than seeing a pigmentation first.
