But, on the up side, if it weren't for Sports questions, I would never lose a game of "Trivial Pursuit" in my life./endquote

Only reason I don't play the oldschool (wink) edition... Damned sports category... i hate orange.. and, i always win anyway even with that handicap because there are just enough obscure sports questions (caber tossing, anyone?) that I manage to flash some brilliance..

" But the conscripts stink. IMO "

Per usual I suppose.

There was alot of high-up fallout over the Yom Kippur war.

Some wanted to pre-empt but others over-ruled saying there was no indication of an attack. Golda Meir (sp?) was working with Kissineger and he told them they could expect no US support if they did pre-empt. He sent diplomatic letters to that effect litterally hours before Egypt lead the attack.

And as far as nooks and crannies of the mind....

You ever see those games at the fair with the rubber ducks going around on a watery track - you pick one up and look at the bottom to see if you "won" anything?

My brain works like that only about 100 times faster - thoughts whirling about - I just grab a random "duck" and go with it....

"lol. I missed that one."

Did you see the one on the Tuesday tab on Limbaugh's website?

creepy little government school zombies....

I tried to find Shanklin's "pull the plug on granny" sung to the tune of "the Weight" by The Band (take a load off Annie...)

All the good stuff is on the pay side of his website - greedy capitalist....

Boy if you weren't one of my buds that "giant hole" comment leaves a big door to walk through...

Something along the lines of speaking of giant holes how's your sister doin'?

I mean if I was to actually go there - which I'm not - Cause that would just be a dirty crack...speaking of dirty cracks ...(OK OK I quit)

But seriously folks - my big hole is not so big anymore either... I got a line on a short term project at the new nuke plant in Southport and the new "job" prospect is still working towards the good side so far - I must be a patient grasshopper till then.

And speaking of pheasants - ever do any upland birds like ruffed grouse? - them's good eatin (hard shootin though...)

I think we should start a pool./endquote

hehe... problem is: he goes, elkiddy is back, elkiddy has a pancreas attack, the other one's back... we'd constantly have moolah in motion exchanging hands.. This one will eventually write a grandiose tale about leaving GOLO to focus on carving some little wooden shoes like all the indigenous natives do in the new little farming village she calls "home" and he's tired (for like the fifth time) of the "haters" and how a few (are you dozing off yet?) ruin golo for everyone else... That and maybe the dikes are holding back a frozen ocean of virgin ice for him/her to go skate on and contemplate why he/she gave up heroin...

I gotta tell you, except for her and her sockpuppets I have totally grooved on the /ignore feature (either accidental or purposely) and got rid of the "caption this"/pull my finger blogs and those who equate ability to type with intellect...

indigenous peoples... not the other redundant way i wrote it.. god...

man i know zippo about foreign currency investing... my financial advisor might.. send me an email if you want me to hook you two up; (make sure you misspell my name right :)) @ gmail.com

"recovering quickly from prison life . . ."

What are you talking about?

I've never been in prison.

(sure as hell don't wanna go back...)

Look at the 9:33 comment right before mine (unrelated)

Well... I could say that your smug self-satisfied attitude was just an oversight on your part, and that you mean to be polite instead of a blowhard...

But, well... someone has to fill in the void left by The Crisp.

But, well... someone has to fill in the void left by The Crisp/endquote

that is just... wrong ;-)

(never really cared for his crispness' persona)

Hey I was thinking about you...I have not seen you since the episode with the Squirrel...Did that Squirrel beat you??? Or did the Wife for leaving such a mess and no popcorn??? Are you Okay??? Do I need to send out the forces???

*LOL* Just checking!!!

two things: 1) if there's not a special place in hell for libtards like this there should be

2) schadenfreude makes me tingly all over

f#%$%^^ing fraud... check this out:

http://www.wral.com/golo/blogpost/6139286/ comment from elyouknowwho:

To succeed on an alienation claim, the plaintiff has to show that (1) the marriage entailed love between the spouses in some degree; (2) the spousal love was alienated and destroyed; and (3) defendant’s malicious conduct contributed to or caused the loss of affection. Criminal conversation, however, is much more odious, IMO. To prevail in a criminal conversation suit, all the plaintiff need prove is (1) an act of intercourse and (2) the existence of a valid marriage between the plaintiff and the adulterous spouse, and (3) the bringing of the lawsuit within the applicable statute of limitations.

Quite frankly, I find the concept disgusting. It's little more than legally sanctioned revenge, IMO. Click to view my profile elcid89 GOLO member since September 6, 2007 October 5, 2009 10:35 a.m.

so if you google that phraseology it comes back dead on word for word from a google

search on alienation of affection and north carolina laws

like this:

http://carolinainvestigator.wordpress.com/category/home/specialties/domestic-investigations/cheating-spouse/

notice the exact phraseology:

all the plaintiff need prove is (1) an act of intercourse and (2) the existence of a valid marriage between the plaintiff and the adulterous spouse, and (3) the bringing of the lawsuit within the applicable statute of limitations

so a "constitutional lawyer" either coincidently uses one of the top 3 google searches on this or he had to google for the specifics and verbiage of what he tought...

mother$#^$*&#$^* poser... god that dude annoys me... not so much is trolling azz but the fawners of his...

i'm off to seattle this afternoon... i've got a meeting with MS and the Xbox team over the next few days... should be fun...

thought

WOW, a lot of drama there, I don't know, it seems like we would need a lot of troops on the ground to try to kick them out of the provinces they are in control of, but in the end what do we really gain, we are going to be there for years if we really want them to be able to build a friendly goverment and stand on their own feet. I think Obama is still trying to decide weather we stay or pull out, he is just stalling, he may as well just flip a coin, it's going to be bad either way. Thanks for the link. SEMPER FI!!!

The difference I see is this Vietnam was covered in Jungle, Afghanistan is Mountain, desert, little vegitation. A "kill team" on a hill top with a radio, can bring hell down on a pretty big area. There are areas that we would have to hold for sure, but I think in the countryside, "Key terrain" could be taken and held, and used to control supply routes, and cross border movement. I have a buddy that was there, and he said they sat on hill tops and "smoked" insurgent groups moving through their AO. That was early in the war though.

HA HA, I put the last post on my own site, GEEZ, sorry.

I hear ya, I just wish there was a better way. I HATE that we have to lose anyone fighting these thugs, and I hate how so many Americans now seem to have not only forgotten 9-11 but actively stand up against our own goverment when it comes to the enemy's "rights". Why do we always have to fight with one hand tied around our "stones"? I don't get it.

U wanna talk about screwed. On my leg out of Raleigh to SEA I was squarshed up in my aisle seat next to a deuce and a half who smelled of cocoa butter and clinique happy. No upgrade to the front of the plane. I'll read the article in the AM but I got the gist from the link. Lmao. O can't get something easy like medical Mary Jane right much less a comprehensive foreign policy. God I miss Clinton.

"Just - wow."

Maybe we could start a company that makes white flags - get some "stimulus" money.....

(And remember - "fan" is short for "fanatic".)

I made a joke about the band Bare Naked Ladies and dude man goes all high school psycho...

"It's a great combination."

For years I've thought the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms should be a country club.

"E is for explosives."

Now yer talkin'! - where do I sign? (gotta pen?)

"Oh!

MATCHES!

(Here you go.)"

What the HELL were those guys smokin ? (and where can I get some?)

" Cigarettes, you fool. "

Man, I gotta get an english-to-English dictionary...

Looks like the most dangerous man in America is going to buy a football team...

"You can't defeat the enemy unless you engage them."

If they are annoying it's just easier to ignore/block. I have several that are just too stupid for words and they post all the time and everywhere.

>>>The skit took place in a tobacco shop.

Have no clue as to the context, but I hope y'all were talking MPFC! "My neeples explode with delight!"

Deschutes brewery in Portland. Dude, I am sitting in 4d glad as hell to be winging home I hate the Empire of Hell (aka Microsoft). Gotta go through phx but should make dinner with the rugrats. I'm about to get real busy so I probably won't be around for a few weeks so have a good vacation baggin birds. Always wanted to shoot a pheasant. I hear they explode up and book.

Love it! Wish I'd been there for the original thread; I'm one of those annoying, frequent quoters of Python....

"It's supposed to snow tomorrow and the warmest day will be 40 degrees and windy."

It's that "global warming" - we're all gonna die.....

"Mission Accomplished"?

Declare victory and run like hell...?

"(But then, that's pretty much my answer to everything.)"

They didn't give you your jar back when you left the island did they?

Just pullin your leg - some of my best friends are Marines - no seriously...(even dated a WM {an ATC hottie}for a while - dang near killed me but I'd do it again in a heart beat - if my wife will let me...)

Nobel PEACE prize...

You sure you don't want to invest in my white flag manufacturing comapny?

We'll make a killin'....

"Were you in an accident?"

Good call...

I got ticketed for dead tags 3 weeks ago and kept getting "advertisemtns for legal services" letters for the following several days - about 6 or 8 total.

Got that big bundle today thinking it was the same stuff - I got rear-ended this past Friday - no big deal for my F-150 (Reese hitch) - small dent in the bumper the car behind me was totaled as was the car that hit him - we were stopped for a school bus and a girl talking on her cell plowed the guy right behind me - didn't even touch the brakes.

Didn't make the connection - just figured they were late to the game from the first round of mass mailings. I opened one of the letters from today and sure enough it was about the wreck.

BTW, the work thing is turning around; doing some contract work for another company owned by the same folks until the new start up gets some contracts in place. Looks like the first one will be water & sewer utility mapping for the entire post at Ft. Bragg

BTW2 - I was not injured and was only a little stiff the next day - got too much going on right now to "chase an ambulance"...working on come construction verification at the nuke plant in Southport.

Lots of armed guards, administrative headaches, etc...but I can put up with a lot @ $40/hour...

"SOB and Timbo - you both seem to believe you have a firm grasp of Constitutional law. Please - tell me why Franken didn't ask for an amendment that covered CRIMINAL cases instead of CIVIL cases."

No, I was asking a question, not taking a stance. Sorry for the mis-communication. I *don't* know constitutional law.

However, I find it concerning you can be persecuted in the US for a crime committed in another country. Irrespective of "International Law".

"There is no room for the romaticism of tyranny in the governemnt of a free republic."

Well said! I couldn't agree more

Did you, per chance, get an opportunity to watch Bezmenov expound on psych warfare and the four phases of takeover? You can find it on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlpODYhnPEo

Fascinating stuff. Methinks goLO's Leftists are a prime example of the effects of demoralization in America.

i have been meaning to pick up New Deal/Raw Deal.. you sealed it for me...

As for Obambi in Afghanistan I guess I am loathe to admit his entire foreign policy is a gigantic "meh" from me. I assumed he'd be a neophyte apologizing UN-toe sucking mendacious callow fellow and much to my chagrin, he hasn't disappointed me there...

I'm more worried about getting 9mm ammo at this point.

On another note, did you see this (I know you did):

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704500604574483990102017038.html

It convinces me the GOP is without a rudder and continues the grand "W" tradition of abandoning conservatism and little "l" libertarianism... God.. Makes me want to punch a shark.. I actually hoped Oblama would galvanize the GOP to wake up.. Dubyateeeff was I thinkin?

I know I'm preaching to the choir, and I agree with your posts on pro-choice people assuming we're basing our arguments on religion (regardless of the fact that we never once cited a Bible verse for our stance on abortion being murder...)

One of my favorite angles to take is to let them know that once an egg is fertilized and growing inside the womb, it has EVERYTHING it needs to continue growing and developing as a human being. All it needs is what we ALL need -- nutrition and a place to call "home". That ought to be enough right there to declare that it should have all the rights any other human being has. It's a growing human being. Period. Nothing more, nothing less.

Of course, they fight this. I guess since it doesn't LOOK like a human being yet, well then it's just a clump of cells.

I actually think they know better. I think they still believe the mother should be allowed to "choose" anyway. They just use everything in their arsenal to fight what I think they know to be true.

"Is he trying to get the other guy installed in power?"

I can't read The Big O on this one...Abdullah appears to want to fight the "Towleebawn" & Al Qaeda with out any distinguishing between the two groups and rightfully so - Obama seems to show some sympathies towards the Taliban - which is disturbing beyond words.. Karzai seems to be less favorable to the Northern Alliance while Abdullah used to be their foreign minister.

I would think that Obama would like Karzai better since he too talks of the "moderates" in the Taliban while Abdullah just wants to kill them.

I think Obama really thought that Afghanistan was basically over and that's why he talked about "the real front" - now that the goons have left Iraq and the Paki/Afghan border is burning the brightest I honsetly believe he has no idea what to do next - and he riskes his 'domestic agenda' if he gives the generals the green light - he's in WAY over his head.

"I checked Anthem out from the li-berry today."

It's the most moving of her fiction works IMHO...that story spoke to me like no other fictional story I've ever read.

And every time I see that lard-azz Owl Gore talking about global warming I see the Council of Scholars...

"What is not thought by all men cannot be true," said Collective 0-0009.

"I'm going to try to cajole my 13 yo into reading it when I'm done."

The FREE YOUR MIND link on my profile goes to the on-line version of Anthem. The kid might prefer the electronic version cause it's like way cool and stuff....

"I think she's an ink and paper junkie like her old man."

That's good...my kids a pseudo-bookworm. She's going through the sic-fi phase I did in high school - she likes those Japanese books that read "front to back" too...the mangas are hard to read - top right to bottom left - too much like work for me.

Still trying to get her to read The Hobbit - she loves that type of genre but she always has something else to read first.

The last thing I read was a procedure to ensure parallel and level rail structures in a dry spent fuel storage receptacle - a riveting read to be sure - zzzzzzzzz.....

"Then it will work like a charm."

The "people" wanted change - and we're going to get it, good and hard...
