Troll House cookies"

OK....this is the one of the day!!!!!!!!!!

You go smorgas!!!!

Quiet, voices! Don't make me come in there with the Q-tip again!

roflmbo!!!

that's funny right there I don't care who you are! Thanks for the laugh smorg!

"peanut butter and vidalia onion sandwiches" -- GOOD GRIEF!!!! LOL, now that's nasty...

"Loaded it up with ping pong bal ls, just to break the boredom of poker night..."

LOL, I was playing poker when you wrote that smorg. You ever play at Mojo's?

Good Morning! I hope things go well for Harley today. I just love puddy kats.

Happy Tuesday Smorgas, Sheba, and Blixx!

Tell Blixx he has one more day to get in that castle!! lol

Oh, let us know about Harley this evening!

Besides, sleeping with a skinny woman is like sleeping with a bag of antlers...

LOL Another quote of the day!!!

Smorg and Shela, my heart goes out to you, I know how it feels to lose a beloved pet. Harley was a beautiful baby, I have a kitten and an adult similar to Harley, I love the black patterns on the white coat, or was that white patterns on a black coat? I'm sure he brought you many years of joy and unconditional love, and will always have a place in your heart.

Smorg, I saw your comment about annunciation day...are you Catholic? So sorry about Harley, I know how it feels to love and lose a special cat...

no, we're still searching for Joker...how's Sheba? I know she must be heartbroken... maybe when she feels a little better, you can swing by the shelter...I'm there every other day, checking for Joker...There are soooo many dogs and cats looking at you and with their eyes saying "what about me? I'm sweet...I'll be good..."

I'm a instigator always have been. Right now I'm laid up after having the 3rd knee surgery in 5 months and I'm bored. This is better than anything on television, most days

G'Evening', Smorg...may I please pinch your 'tater soup recipe for the GOLO cookbook. I'd love to see your contributions (hint, hint). :D

Here's my email addy to submit it/them... Gingerleigh225@yahoo.com

Again, :D

Hey Smorg: I've already been gathering them all in one place. I placed a link on his GOLO profile. I will keep adding all of the tributes to that page and it will live on his profile forever. Great idea. http://www.wral.com/golo/asset_gallery/4898288/ -Angela

"Slick Rick is GAY???"

lol...thanks man...i needed a good laugh...i'll probably be banned, but hey, it was worth telling that dude what i felt about him.

"I guess improv is hereditary."

It does give one Paas, doesn't it?

(You may now groan audibly.)

great meeting you today.....((HUGS))

Hi'ya Smorgas, it was great to meet you two yesterday. wish it could have been under different circumstances.

(helpful look)™

LOL...Thank you for my morning giggle! :D

'Of note, my son is a "Metallica" headbanger type. I played "She Said" for him and he immediately said, in REAL shock: "The BEATLES did THAT??"'

Love it! So, what does he think of "Revolution"? That one for me really showed their "heavy metal" side -- the distortion, the volume, the screams. I've always wished I could scream like Lennon does at the beginning.

My wife was watching "Dancing With the Stars" the other night, and they had the Rascal Flatts on to play a couple songs. After the first one, they announced they'd be back later with a Beatles cover. I sat up and took note, then tried to figure out what tune it would be -- figured it would be a rockabilly number from the early days, or maybe one of their more country-flavored tracks from the White Album. Nope. It was Revolution. I nearly threw my shoe through the TV screen.

"At least, that's what I read in the blogs."

This is exactly why the Republican Party has lost its momentum. Rather than attempting to encourage others to join in their ideas -- it's think like us or get out!

I'm so tired of the name-calling and hatred from a few of our GOLOers. Thanks for taking a stand.

thank you for letting me post what I did and keeping the conversation real

you are right - as usual. I still remember when you came to golo...I was like...Yes!!!!!!!! some brains just walked into the House.. then Sheba followed you in. God is Good!!

Thanks for the comments. Jeez I thought the blog would get some attention but man some got really hot about it.

What ever happened to keep government small and keep it out of my life as much as humanly possible.

((hugs)) to you and Sheba!!!!!

I appreciate your comments on the remembrance blog. I think that as long as there have been wars (and will be future wars), the men who end up fighting in them will always be "duped" to a certain extent, about the cause they are fighting for. Constitutional scholars may be correct about the right of state to secede, but at the time most people in the south did believe that they had every "right" to do so, especially after the federal government mobilized an army and invaded their homes. I agree that it's impossible to imagine this now, but the mind set was very different back then. Most people lived on farms and had almost zero contact with anyone from the federal government. So the prospect of being "invaded" invoked memories of the British invasion during the revolution. I have read many diaries of soldiers (north and south), and they reflect a very strong conviction, at least at first, that what they were doing was the right thing to do.

Anyway, have a great weekend, YALL!

((((Smorg))))

I apologize, Smorg. I thought it was a dig at Christians, and should have known better. I understand now why you said it -- wondering if he was keeping that in mind. Mea culpa!

[Contrite look.]

This needed a warning so that I did not have a mouthful of ice tea when I read it!!

"Are we now playing "Monty Python Presents: And Now For Something Completely Different" ?"

:D

Thanks, Smorg. I was automatically defensive from just being on that blog, but that's no excuse for jumping to conclusions. I totally misread it.

Smorg, NC has a hundred counties so as not to confuse us when doing percentages.

Mornin! Saw this story this AM, thought of your blog from about a week ago where most discussion was on your choice of picture (this being Jesus teaching a child how to shoot a gun). Many of your points in the blog, namely that guns and religion seem to go hand-in-hand, largely went un-discussed. anyway, thought you might enjoy the story, if you haven't seen it already.

http://www.wral.com/news/national_world/national/story/5284400/

Small sampling: "We're just going to celebrate the upcoming theme of the birth of our nation," said pastor Ken Pagano. "And we're not ashamed to say that there was a strong belief in God and firearms - without that this country wouldn't be here."

Saw the Orangeburg SC law referenced in the 2nd Amendment blog. Great Anecdote!

For the record, I enjoy reading your posts. Very articulate, never derogatory (unlike many responses TO said posts), and always well-defended.

Keep up the good work!

Hey Smorg, I've been a republican for a long time , but I dispise Newt, Dick, and Rush Limbo( pun intended) most of my republican friends feel the same way. These jerk offs dont speak for us any more than jeremiah Wright speaks for obama

yup.....Goldwater republican DEFINATELY describes me. I ve always described myself as a moderate conservative. Do you think that makes me a conservative liberal???

Thanks for the welcome. I have actually been on here for a long while. I lost my password to my email and cannot access my original account. lol

You should sign up on yahoo. They have a great games section featuring my beloved chess. I play on there every chance I get. The competition is also pretty good.

I cant wait to see Dylan on the 28th of July. He is playing at the DBAP. Tickets are a bit pricey, but worth it for me.

And thanks for the kind words. I agree with 'more debate, less hate' here. :)

Not bad, not bad at all ....

This will probably get me more profile views than I've ever had before ....

Have a great rest of the weekend ....

Len (aka STS)

"Being an alkie is all about 'me'. It's total selfishness."

You have idea how much insight you just gave me with that statement. With the person I am dealing with, you always have to question his motives, even when it appears he is doing the "right thing", meaning he is usually doing the right thing for the wrong reason.

OMGOSH! OMGOSH!

I've been found out. What on earth should I do? Mercy me, mercy mild....

Thank you so much for the heads up. I've been trying to keep a low profile. 'eh....

Fine! Have your way at it my friend. I am at your mercy...*sigh*

I shall accomodate as well.

ugh

Nighty Nite friend!

I'm really impressed about how much you had to offer to people tonight. You are definitely a great guy for sharing your experience and knowledge. Cheers!

Thanks, Smorg. Hey, is it a full moon tonight? That might explain some things. ;)

I went to the one at Wake Forest road in Raleigh. The one across the street from the BJs Warehouse.

Sorry, that was the answer to your question in my blog about AppleBees..

Azadi Monument was going to be the pix I was going to use, then on CNN, just before sending the blog, I saw that woman, Neda, or Nede -- seen it both ways -- appeared, and in the last shot, it appeared her eyes had moved to the side, and were looking at me in the camera. I went then to the net and got her picture, which is reality. That was the way I felt as I posted. I might have found a living photo of her, but she's the reality.

thanks for letting me know how you feel about it. I don't know that I would have changed it while it was up, but I might have for you. Besides, WRAL took it off before I could.

Ok, my golo adopted son has gone gangsta on me. *sigh*

I'm trying really hard to keep up with the times around here.

Ya know?

Have a great evening...aka 'da sniffer'

Smorg,

If they found blood in you urine AFTER a DRE, it’s no big deal; happens all the time to me. There are also other places that it can show up after 'routine' marital activities that are also no big deal but that will definitely frighten the willies out of you until you learn the details....

And, BTW, ‘uncomfortable’ is a very broad word with many meanings ;-)

Please feel free to delete this comment if you would like ...

Wishing you all the best ....

Len (aka STS)

Smorg,

I had a TURP done a few years back. The doc told how they did the procedure and I, naturally, asked a lot of questions.

He reached into his desk drawer and pulled out an instrument and said something like, “we just reach up there with this and ....”

My response was, “You put that WHERE? There is just ABSOLUTELY no way THAT will FIT!”

He just smiled and said that ‘things’ would stretch quite nicely, with no problem at all. He was right, of course ....

I was peacefully sleeping during the procedure, didn’t feel a thing. Completely solved my problems, it did. As an aside, I can really get into a peeing contest with someone now ;-)

Best of luck with this. And try to keep a (twisted) sense of humor about the whole thing. It drives the nurses crazy ....

Len (aka STS)

re: "Never smile - You'll get bugs in your teeth". Amen...there is a Truth to that, that I can attest to. Have a great Sunday. :)
