It was nice, a bit windy, but sunny and a good temperature. We ate a blooming onion, funnel cake and the fresh squeezed lemonade. Hubby, my 13 year old, Vette and his girl friend tore up the rides. Playing whack a mole was about as excited as I got.
There was a ton of people. I thought the rotten economy might keep some folks home, but it was PACKED. Like you, I am not crazy about crowds. There were times that I had to just find an open place to breathe.
We love the odd looking rabbits and chickens. The live stock barn was empty, I am not sure if they were changing out the cows or what. The usual rides and exhibits. Fried macoroni and cheese seemed to be the new food fad. The longest food line I saw was for hot wisconsin cheese.
The exhibits wer nice. Lots of demos. From mops to mopeds. It was interesting.

Yeah, but they were so cute, and they got to be on stage. I think little girls remember that and cherish it. Mine were never on a big stage like yours were, but they still look at their recital pics.
I went to a Fair in Tucson AZ once back in 89. It was awesome. AZ has the old hippies that make the best arts and crafts. Now that was a FAIR.

That is why your story of the pregnant 12 year old girl does NOT surprise me now.
I also believe the father could be someone close to her own age, but he could be older. And she may not have chosen to have sex on her own.
But after seeing the behavior of kids today, (for the last several years) I tend to believe other wise.
Last year, at an elementary school, they were having a very diffcult time with 2nd graders and sexual harrasment. They were having to suspend them and even had the sheriff come talk to them.
When I told someone about this, they said, they are just babies, they don't know what they are doing. Well, that is what I thought at first, BUT, I have seen it first hand.
These babies are seeing it and learning it from somewhere. (HOME) No, it doesn't make it right, but that is how it is.
