Hey, everybody! I'm the traffic man on WRAL News every morning. I also do our "Siteseeing" segment on the 8 a.m. news, cover environmental stories, report on what's hot and fresh on WRAL.com and a bunch of other things.

favorite hobbies: songwriting, leaving a wake of general silliness wherever i go, listening to old-time radio (gunsmoke, jack benny are my two faves), watching old local tv newscasts on youtube.
favorite tv shows: the andy griffith show, the sopranos, newhart, benny hill, strangers with candy, the honeymooners, murder she wrote, tim and eric awesome show -- and wral news, of course!
favorite restaurants: parker's bbq, king's bbq, stephenson's bbq -- see where i'm going with this? favorite non-bbq restaurants: neomonde, skipper's, salvio's pizza, roast grill, joyce & family

You don't know how often I get calls of people with cable straight out of the wall wondering why the picture looks bad on their wide screen HD TV! Unless you have a QAM tuner built into your TV, you will NOT get HD straight out of the wall.
I am happy to say though; Raleigh has a great range of HD over the air channels. I suggest just a standard bunny ear connected to the digital or air input on the TV. Regardless of what the salesmen try to sell individuals, you do NOT need a pricey HD antenna to get over the air.

It's great venue for collecting bumper stickers. (Political junkies like me really enjoy election year fairs.) Everybody loves stadium cups, too. I've got a refrigerator full of magnets from the fair.
Speaking of swag -- make sure you stop by the WRAL booth to get a Greg Fishel mask!
