Many misunderstand what I share because I don't come from a "religious" background; I'm not filled with the doctrine and dogma of churches which is sometimes right, but is often wrong.
I didn't learn The Bible at the knee of some preacher who told me what it said (or what his order told him to tell me that it said). I took Biblical research classes to learn how to study The Bible so I could read it for myself - so that I could learn what God inspired holy men to speak, not what others have determined, rightly or wrongly, that He inspired those holy men to say.
What I share sometimes doesn't align with mainstream Christian religions which often wrongly teach Biblical scripture and precepts.
If you find yourself puzzled or disagreeing with what I'm sharing, pick The Book up and study it for yourself - really study it like 2 Timothy 2:15 above says, so that you to may learn how to rightly divide the word of truth.
I know what I know, not what someone else told me to know.
I urge you to go and do so also.

The wife beating question was related to the fallacy of the complex question - it's an example of a question that has no good answer.
"Yes" amswer means you used to beat her

I'm sure you know that you have to take the Bible as a whole, and not just a couple of parts.
My point is that many people believe the Bible is true, but reject it anyway. Believing the good book (as in, believing it is true) is not enough.

I personally find it revealing that the most anyone seems willing to assert is that Jesus would not advise us how to act in the face of a moral dilemma. No one asserts that he would likely choose the path espoused by Old Rebel.
I'm not criticizing Old Rebel's choice. If the issue were clear cut, the choice would be easy for both of us.
But the issue is neither clear cut nor is it religious in nature. It is an ethical question. And religion has no exclusive claim to ethical authority.

The lies and hate attacks are exhausting.
There is too much good available that these things are hindering. Should we assume that the attacks are to hinder any positivity that we might stumble upon and be inspired to share.
What alternative is there then but to forge ahead to flood what we can with light and love?
So many are hurting and need that light and love, yet the devil and his minions, even the ones who do not know they are acting on his devices, will try to stop it.
But the love and light of the one true God always win. Praise the Father of our Lord Christ Jesus.
So I will go and do what I am inspired to do, by the light of the one true God.

Actually, that's a good idea about the plants.
But I'm not big on planting flowers. It gets expensive quick. The bushes are a much more economical and labor saving option. Flowering bushes and trees - that's where I'm at. I'm still looking for baby dogwoods, especially pink ones if I can find 'em. And I want to get those bushes that have leaves that look like ferns and have fuzzy flowers on them (Mimosas?). I used to see baby 'mimosas' all around where the bushes were. They'd be great next to my fence.
