about rev. rb aka troll magnet

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15

Many misunderstand what I share because I don't come from a "religious" background; I'm not filled with the doctrine and dogma of churches which is sometimes right, but is often wrong.

I didn't learn The Bible at the knee of some preacher who told me what it said (or what his order told him to tell me that it said). I took Biblical research classes to learn how to study The Bible so I could read it for myself - so that I could learn what God inspired holy men to speak, not what others have determined, rightly or wrongly, that He inspired those holy men to say.

What I share sometimes doesn't align with mainstream Christian religions which often wrongly teach Biblical scripture and precepts.

If you find yourself puzzled or disagreeing with what I'm sharing, pick The Book up and study it for yourself - really study it like 2 Timothy 2:15 above says, so that you to may learn how to rightly divide the word of truth.

I know what I know, not what someone else told me to know.

I urge you to go and do so also.

My view of them is very similar. The leadership became very dogmatic and judgemental...I think the power went to Martindale's head. I thought Weirwille's foundational classes were FAR better. The 'nuts and bolts' of Biblical truth and research were superb...IMO Martindale ruined all that. I have a friend who went WOW shortly after taking that class. He felt that that whole Martindale mess just underscored the fact that we are all sinners and come short of the glory of God. All we can do is do our best at being Christ-like. I agreed with him whole heartedly. You are right, they taught a method where anyone can understand the Bible. I will always give them credit for that.

just sent you a shortie email...let me know if you get it.

not sure about the email issue...did your addy change when you moved? I am jmullins2008@hotmail.com try it to see if it works.

Rev. I hope that you will take this with the spirit that it is intended. I know that you and Willow have your issues. I think it would be best if you put her on ignore. I have seen many comments that you have made to her and they just are just not kind at all. The latest that I saw was you saying that a house should drop on her. Please just think about it. Rise above. thanks.

thanks rev.

we missed you Sat, but I understand. Hope to see you soon, Jay

How have you been Rev?I have been pretty busy selling off the cars, helping Michael buy a new one, throwing out, giving away and paying bills, working 3 twelve hour shifts/week(nights),keeping up with everything.I am doing fine.We will have to get together for breakfast again or even better...Ice cream!!I tried to call the number you gave me and still get the recording that your phone has been disconnected.Would you send me your number again in case of a typo or something. It would be great to see you again.

hi there sweet lady,I hope you are doing good... haven't been here in a few days, I miss my special friends..{hugs}

what the heck was wrong with that guy today? I reported him and was promptly blocked LOL...I noticed gandie joining in...I don't know what's wrong with him, either...he has turned REALLY nasty...I thought it was just directed at Steve...oh well, guess it takes all kinds...hope you're doing well

Saw your quote of the day...never had one myself...all I can say to your words about drunk drivers is WHY can't drunk act more sensibly?

Your comment was the comment of the day that day. You had something about the mindless nature of drunk drivers...

I told him, "I'm secure in my beliefs and pick my battles carefully; if someone else wants to make a fuss, I'll back them, but I'm not going to do it - yet."

for some reason I used to be more level headed befor I joined golo. I hope I can get to the place you are one day.

I have found that in the past maybe 4-5 years, I've stopped sweating the small stuff. I'm more content to believe I'm starting each day brand new which makes it easier to leave the junk from the day before behind.

this is where my neighbor is trying to help me get now. i can't seen to ignore anything. and that is bad.I stay in a nervous frenzy worrying over stuff I can't fix. I haven't made that bond yet that helps me but I am so trying to work on it. I got to get more faith. I know it does no good to worry but I hve alwayss been a worry wart. My mama said I was always worrying over everyone and everything even as a small child. There is only one way to overcome it and that is to strenghten my faith.

The cafeteria @ Cameron Village sounds great. I'm sorry it's far for you. If you want to, (since I DO have to work until 5:00 right now, for the next couple of weeks, most likey, due to our fiscal year end), you could try to find somewhere a little less far for you to drive. I hate for you to drive all the way out to CV.

But, I'd love to meet for lunch! As soon as I get back to getting off at 1:00, which, AS YOU KNOW, can't be SOON enough for my LAZY AZZ, we will have to meet! hee hee hee!!!

Can't wait to see you. Have a good night!

Beth

And thanks for the love and prayers. They are both needed. LYMI

Beth

Hey,hope you had a nice weekend and that your day is being a good one.Wishing you a blessed week.

Seriously, you only think you know what has transpired with this person. You have ONLY their word on the "dire straits". Im just saying that person's word isnt worth the paper its written on.

Happy Thirsty Thursday / Friday Eve Rev!!

it always makes me happy to see a christian who uses their brain.

Rev R.B.: "Additionally, I'm an inter-denominational minister who's studied many religions and belief systems, so I don't fit into the "normal" (whatever that is) Christian minister mold."

i gathered that from your posts. and its something i wish more christians did. too many of our folk are kinda blind and ignorant to what else is out there and develop an entirely too xenophobic outlook because of that.

when i was being confirmed, our priests asked us to go out and read about the other religions and denominations and really find out what they were all about. then if we still wanted to be confirmed, he'd do it. he told us "god doesn't seem the type to want blind sheep in his flock."

that kinda rang true with me.

any way...side tracked. i don't always agree with you, but i do like that your arguments/stances aren't exclusively from the pew/pulpit and actually have some logical rationale behind them.

I don't understand. He also was giving another chance. Why would you not understand that?

I was not trying to be negative. But positive, that some one that did some thing as bad as he did, get another chance. You should be able to understand that and let me be able to voice my opinion on this subject.

"It's a blog of light and love, not one to rehash old news"

Not trying to rehash old news, but to give you a example of some one getting another chance and God being able to help him. I would really thing that you would understand that. A blog about being light and love should be able to understand this. With out this Love from God, do you think he would have gotten another chance. I really am bothered that you, as a God fearing person would be this way.

Would you please delete the comment that you left me on your blog? Thanks.

"Perhaps that's what you're trying to do!"

No, not at all. I thought that it was a really good example of some one getting another chance. One like you and I have been giving, many times.

God Bless you, but I am really very disappointed in you.

Hey Rev! I'm so happy you joined the lottery group! Please go to the lottery group profile and check the comment I left for you, when you get a chance!

The doggie on my profile is Gabriel. He passed in January of this year from cancer. I haven't had the heart to change his picture. Now I have two eight month old Lab/Husky Mix dogs that are eating us out of house and home! I think any pet is wonderful. Have a nice night.

thanks for the friend request! i did not even know that was on here! i have always seen your comments on the news and have thought you were so insightful and positive..thanks for all of the good comments! glad to be your friend now!

Hey Rev.==My mother is still living and I have forgiven her but to this day I can't help the way I feel inside. She is 81 now and her health isn't that good she lives in Va. and I see her when I can and if she needs something I always see that she gets it but those old feelings are still deep inside me. It's always known by me and everyone that knows us that I wasn't her favorite person. She still speaks ill of me today to some but I ignore it b/c she's old and I should do right by her.

That's amazing. I hope we (me&her) can have something like that. She used to beat the devil out of me too. Thanks for sharing.

Happy Sun. Rev! Hope you have a great day.

Beth

thanks for the friendship hand. I will keep my eye open for you and that's a promise. I understand more now more of what you're seeking. Don't know if you know this, and you may have already got a app in, but in Clayton area they are just finish up building a small hospital there and I know they will be hiring for different things. I think you would check into it at the Johnston Memorial in smithfield as it is a branch satellite of theirs. there will be doctors offices as well as the hospital. You never know, there may be something there. A friends son lives there and his wife was telling us about it.

ps suppose to open some time oct/nov.

Ok about the blogs leaving. thanks for the tip. Please don't get too excited. I'll send a prayer for you on it. you may can call them first if you like. they have a personnel department there and I am sure you can find out something. If you are that close you may have a phone book with the direct numbers. Good night....

hey...praying for you on your job search.

irishii had some good resume advice in your blog...i think his ideas would help, but other than that, you have a nice resume.

Rev, I posted some resume suggestions on your blog. You have great experience, I think some verbiage tweaking would enhance your resume.

Good Luck!

Hi lady! I just e-mailed you some job resourcing information I had. Let me know if you have any questions. :-)

Ummm, I hardly think American born people of Chinese descent are proud of the killing going on there.

The lighting is a CELEBRATION of Communist China. I'm asking you, what the heck is there to celebrate?

hey RB, She's doing great. didnt have the laptop today.

hopefully she'll be going home tomorrow

Rev. RB: You're talking about taxes. I'm talking about how much you can earn without losing ANY of your benefits.

If you earn a combined total (income plus benefits) between $25,000 and $34,000, you may have to pay income tax on up to 50 percent of your benefits. If you earn more than $34,000, up to 85 percent of your benefits may be taxable.

What I was referring to I got directly from the SS website. I was referring to how much you can earn before SS starts taking back part of your SS benefits. They'll get you on earning, then they'll tax you on what you earn. Either way, the SS Admin wins if you try to better your position.

Already done.

Hi Rev, I just caught your blog about needing a job. Boy, I'm right there with you! Laid off in Nov. 08. I wanted to give you into on some of the networking groups.

Colonial Baptist Church in Cary http://www.colonial.org/jobseekers/ has one every Monday morning; along with a sermon, there are breakout groups for different industries and networking time afterward. You can get on their website which has job listings. Hope Community Church in Cary has a group which I think meets on Thursday mornings. http://www.gethope.net/ministries.html.

There is also a series of free career-prep courses taught by the Avadon Group. http://www.avad ongroup.com/html/courses.html (darn filter - remove the space between d and o). These are 2-day sessions at various locations (Cary, Zebulon, Raleigh) that you may be eligible to take.

Hope this helps.

Susan

Three boys are in the school yard bragging about their fathers. The first boy says, "My Dad writes all day. He scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a POEM, they give him $50!"

The second boy says, "That's nothing. My Dad writes all day too! He scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls his a SONG, they give him $100!"

The third boy says, "I got you both beat. My Dad also writes all day. He scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls his writings SERMONS. He reads them in church, and it takes EIGHT MEN to collect all the money!!!"

Dont say that Con Amor did'nt make you smile today! Have a great day!

I hope this helps. It is so hard not to be discouraged.

Sometimes I think that the only people who have jobs are the ones advising people without jobs how to find jobs. (Does that make sense?!?) If I had a dime for every bit of career advice I've gotten, I would be rich and wouldn't NEED a job.

And it's all so confusing, especially regarding resumes. I've redone mine so often it has holes in it. BTW, Monster and CareerBuilder have good up-to-date articles with information about stuff - like don't put "References Upon Request" on the resume (it's assumed, and every line is needed for important data). Also, the social networking sites, especially LinkedIn.com, are the place to join and create a profile. One speaker at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (another job-seeker support group, which meets Wednesday mornings in Raleigh) went as far as to say some employers won't even look at your resume if you aren't on there, and to list the LinkedIn link on your resume.

Susan

I saw an executive assistant job that you would be great at, but it was in RTP. Kind of a haul from Angier, though.

Have you exhausted the temp agencies? I thought I saw someone say that the agencies are just instructing folks to email a resume, not bringing people in to interview.

AARP has information directed at Over-50 workers (http://www.aarp.org/nc). There are also places that will train you to do medical coding. And medical transcription is steady work, especially with your typing speed, but you have to know the terms.

Susan

"timbo - "Did I mention that I was thinking about capping some feral cats and a couple of my neighbors?"

Yes, and I found it disgusting that you would kill an animal not for food."

I suppose that you don't trap mice or rats that invade your house? What about bugs? They are animals. Do you eat those when you kill them?

I think not. Most people don't kill vermin and then eat them. Feral cats are vermin.

Hey,

Don't know if Cary is within reach, or if you like working with older people...

http://www.indeed.com/q-Chatham-Commons-l-Cary,-NC-jobs.html

Sorry, I can't seem to make the link "live"

Susan

"Feral cats are not considered vermin by any regulatory authority that I know of."

Actually they are. Wake county will trap and kill them for you.

Please note that I was pointing out the inconsistency of your statement "you should only kill what you eat".

That's not really a reasonable hypothesis. Do you expect people to kill mice, rats, bugs, and other vermin and then eat them? I'm guessing not. It's just unrealistic to expect. Also note that if you drive a car, you kill bugs. I don't suppose you get home and pick them off the grill or bumper and eat them? Of course not.

That being said, the only disagreement we really have is whether feral cats are vermin.

Cats are considered an invasive species. They kill native animals at at very high rate. Their negative impact can be measured. It has been proposed in other states that feral cats have a bounty put on them. I think that's very, very reasonable.
