I am the Managing Editor of GOLO. I've worked in broadcast, print and online news for 15 years in multiple markets including Cleveland, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. I moved to the area with my family in February 2007 and have had the pleasure of watching this community grow from its infancy.
There is still so much more to come here at GOLO, so stay tuned. I think you're gonna like it here.

By the way, I posted this link on my blog a couple days ago, but if you ever have the misfortune of running across a snake someday in NC, check this site to help you identify it -- especially the venomous ones: http://www.herpsofnc.org/ (or if you're like me, the last thing I think about when I see a snake is "what kind is it"). But just incase you're curious, that's a great site. They show the frogs, lizards, snakes, turtles.. everything you've ever wanted (and didn't want) to know!

I'm not sure what legitimacy the TOS holds around here any longer, but assuming it's still respected, I simply will not be attacked in this way. It's quite obvious that this person has, and is energetically engaged in voicing, a personal grievance about another Golo member.
I'll leave it up to you to determine what the appropriate response to that blatant violation might be.

I do utilize the abuse button. Past experience indicated to me that doing so rarely resulted in action being taken, but I remain willing to give you the benefit of the doubt during this, the second act, which is why I continue to utilize the button itself. In this case, however, I felt the commentary in question was egregious enough on face to merit being reported through additional channels.

is a personal attack, and calls me out, by name as such several times. The intent of the blog itself is a character attack.
I, and several others, have hit abuse repeatedly. I referenced it on your profile earlier as well.
And yet two hours later it remains up, with nothing having been done about it.
Am I to deduce from this that Sundays are a free for all zone, wherein nobody is watching and people are allowed to get by with whatever they want?
Or is it being allowed to remain up, despite being a CLEAR violation of the rules, for a purpose?

I think that is what is going on. In the News, it is much clearer how to comment. It looks to me like folks have been in the news and decide to join Golo because a news topic really catches their attention but comments are closed. They join Golo, see the comment box, and think golo works the same way.
Something that might be helpful is to ask Rusty to write you a report feature. Have it search for ids created in the last 7 days with 5 or fewer comments. Have the report capture the email address and send out a canned email that says - "We noticed you are not commenting. Do you need some support?" Have the reply back email be a unique email that will not overwhelm your personal email box. Forward the replies to volunteers from the welcome wagon who are willing to do individual assistance.

Using a multiple login is supposedly a TOS violation as well.
It is a lie and it is completely disreptful to the other goLOers.
If I have to go - so be it - but elcid89 is playing you for a fool Angela, just like he's doing to every one else on here.
It's your blog, so you run it as a you see fit, of course.
But a closer look at elcid89 would be advisable for your own peace of mind.
I am through with him and I will never post to him again.
I do indeed resent the self righteous attitude from him when in fact he is lying directly to you on your own profile, acting the 'victim', and demanding that I be removed.

I have things that I am inspired to do, and they don't get done when I'm too often defending myself because of getting attacked on blogs because the blog master who set them up doesn't care enough about them to watch them.
Where's the heart in that? Where's the purpose? And who does it benefit?
The benefit of war zones is obvious, and it isn't a positive uplifting happy thing.

Here is another example of someone who thinks that a comment on their profile is blogging.
You know what might be neat? If you or Rusty shot a short "how to blog" video that automatically comes up as a link on profiles. You could show them the drop down box on the profile, and how each of the features work. Just a thought...

Thanks so much to you and WRAL for the concert tickets. We saw Yanni last light and I have to admit, the man puts on a hell of a show. The seats were perfect for me and Fuzzy and the whole time was incredible. It was probably one of my top 10 concerts, and I just wanted to drop you a note sincerely thanking you and Ms. Kathy Hanrahan for setting this up. It was greatly appreciated and enormously gratifying to attend such a wonderful show.
